Comments guitarist/vocalist Daniel Håkansson: "We've been trying to write this song now for two albums and finally we got it right. Both 'Karma Bonfire' and 'Voodoo Mon Amour' from previous albums were meant to have electronic influences, but it didn't work out and maybe we didn't have the confidence to leave some of the heavy guitars out. And in hindsight we're quite happy things worked out this way, so that we could write this song that we think will help people to work on their dance moves"

The unstoppable octet are known for pairing elements of jazz, swing, classical and progressive rock with just about everything in between. Since their foundation in 2003 the band have released four studio albums which push musical boundaries to the extreme with humour, creativity and a healthy dose of positive aggression. Their debut The Butcher’s Ballroom was a breath of fresh air when it came out in 2006 to worldwide critical acclaim. The band's fifth effort Swagger & Stroll Down the Rabbit Hole is by far their most ambitious undertaking which pays tribute to all four previous releases and adds some new colours to their already broad pallet of sounds.

DSO have once again teamed up with producer Roberto Laghi (In Flames, Hardcore Superstars) who has become almost the ninth member of the orchestra. Together they've dug deeply into each of the genres explored in the thirteen album tracks and worked hard to find the appealing genre characteristics to forge their own sound. This approach has resulted in a impressive list of guest musicians and some very interesting clashes between sounds which, at least on paper, shouldn’t work. Listeners with an open mind will be rewarded by numerous goodies littered throughout the album, ranging from the tribal assault that is 'War Painted Valentine' to the Zeppelin-gospel-infused 'Snake Oil Baptism'.

As with many bands Covid-19 presented multiple challenges but also granted opportunities which allowed them to take their time in the studio since there was no tour waiting to happen. The mixing process alone took over half a year but Diablo Swing Orchestra are confident that they've produced an album which will leave an indelible mark, whilst inspiring others to try out fresh ideas on genre blending.

The band comment: "'Martyrize' was written, a few years ago, in a surge of anger and incomprehension after news broke out of abuse suffered by a seven-year-old girl at the hands of her father and stepmother in the eastern townships, Quebec. The circumstances of her death sent a shock wave through Canada and authorities ordered a public inquiry to shed light on how child protective services could have failed so miserably, in this particular case, even though they were apprised of the situation well before her death.

"During the last year, the number of cases of infanticide and feminicide have also, unfortunately, been on the rise; no doubt emphasized by the current pandemic. Reports of domestic violence have sky rocketed in the past year and a half, we felt it was important for us to try and bring attention to these tragic situations without romanticizing the suffering of their victims."

Bassist Robin Mariat comments on the new single:

"'D.G.G.R.S' is very much the party song on the album. It came towards the very end of the writing process, and it’s one of the few that was created by the three of us in the same room. I remember Nathan (drummer) jumping up and down in the studio as if he was at a show to figure out the right tempo for the track - 116bpm, if you really want to know!

"Lyrically though, it’s quite the opposite: 'D.G.G.R.S' is us giving a big middle finger toward those who won’t be around to suffer the consequences of their actions on our dying planet. But notice the use of the first person plural within the lyrics: we’re all part of the problem to a degree, and we should be praising those who strive to do better instead of getting lost in silly debates about who’s right and who’s wrong. There’s just no time for this anymore."

'D.G.G.R.S' follows previous singles 'Surrender', 'Emerald Skies', 'Beautiful Hell' and 'Seasick Sailor', which have all had strong support on Alex Baker's Kerrang! Radio Fresh Blood show.

Resolve are a band that have been savouring every second of their journey so far and biding their time - observing, learning, building - and making sure that every single aspect of how they’ve wanted the band to function was fully realised before delivering it to the world.

Starting their journey back in 2016 after their previous projects parted ways and their intentions set on this being their forever band, vocalist Anthony Diliberto, bassist Robin Mariat and drummer Nathan Mariat have spent the last half a decade tinkering with the formula that feels the most suited to them. The animated video, which was entirely digitally hand-drawn by German artist Marius. M. Muench, marks the one year anniversary of Rïcïnn's ground-breaking new album Nereïd, out now via Blood Music.

Mariuscommented on the video and his creative process: “Drawing gives me the ability to create my own unique worlds, to tell stories from distant lands defined by my pen, but expanded by any viewer's imagination and therefore hold secrets that not even I may know, even though I have drawn the fundamentals of it.

In a world of appearances, Rïcïnn was born from the desire to remain true to her instrument, the voice.

As a child, she cooked remedies, formulas, and prayers to serve them to the world. An expression of 'The Now'. Fire & water, whales & birds, sounds emanating from the mist, blown by the windy shore, spitting the scrambling wreckage of a damaged arch, vestige from an ancient and forgotten civilisation, flooded into the oversights of time.

Rïcïnn appears as the lonely survivor of a pre-post apocalyptic universe, a new world in which she bereaves the loss of her unknown culture.

Nereïd is a concoction of many cultures, assimilated and included with her own language. The experience of an incarnation in the material world, falling into the living, as the nymphs of Poseidon move the ocean, making choices, harmonising the rhythms of nature.

Brutal death metal pioneers Pyrexia have unveiled their lead single, 'Pawn to King', from their upcoming album Gravitas Maximus, due out on 10th December via Unique Leader.

On the album announcement, guitarist Chris Basile comments: "When you write an album like Sermon of Mockery, it’s like Moby Dick with this giant whale that you have to conquer. I spent over two decades throwing harpoons and missing every time. Gravitas Maximus goes right through the heart of the whale and kills it dead. Along with everything else."

Legendary brutal death metallers Pyrexia return with new album Gravitas Maximus. Now entering their fourth decade, the quintet return heavier and stronger than ever, proving once again to be one the most important forces in extreme music.

Gravitas Maximus was recorded at Chapel Sound Recording Studios, aka “The Chapel”, Long Island, New York by Chris Basile, and mixed and mastered by Miguel Teresso at Demigod Recording Studio, Portugal.

In 1987 guitarist Chris Basile joined the band Mortuary along with Terrence Hobbs, Doug Cerrito and Mike Smith, all of Suffocation. Together over 30 songs were written by the band with many of the songs and riffs written during this period appearing on both Pyrexia and Suffocation’s early releases leading too many comparisons.

In 1990 Basile met with Guy Marchais, Rob Shimonski, Daryl Wagner and Mike Andrejko and Pyrexia was formed. They went on to release their 1991 demo Liturgy of Impurity and later the classic 1993 full-length Sermon of Mockery, cementing their place in the anoles of death metal history.

Pyrexia continued to release one seminal release after another including their 1997 System of the Animal, and even joining forces with Trevor Peres of Obituary in 2001 to form the band Catastrophic, which went on to release their debut album The Cleansing on Metal Blade records.

In 2006 Pyrexia signed with Unique Leader records and began an extensive campaign of touring and performing both in America and overseas under the UL moniker. A tradition that continues today with no end in sight.
