New album DIORAMA out now via Nuclear Blast

DIORAMA, the ferocious attack of shoegaze and black metal, has hit the stores and shows Denmark's highflyers MØL in their best shape. Described as "a blackgaze masterpiece" by Metal Hammer UK and Blabbermouth predicting "an extremely bright future", the band's sophomore album DIORAMA has been lauded worldwide and today and tomorrow, the quintet will celebrate the release with two shows in their home country.

MØL have also unveiled a live performance of 'Vestige', created by Tobias Scavenius, watch it here: https://youtu.be/Acrx4OyYg2Y

The band comment: "We are relieved to finally send our second album out into the aether for each and everyone to experience, feel and hopefully make their own. We are thankful for the collaboration with Tue Madsen who really helped bring out the essential MØL-sound out into the production. A huge appreciation to our excellent vocal features by our manager Mirza Radonjica (SIAMESE) on 'Photophobic', and Katherine Shepard (Sylvaine) on the concluding title track 'Diorama'. And also thanks to our friend and visual wizard Jon Gotlev / noheroes.dk for once again accompanying our sound with a strong visual identity. All your contributions have helped us to fully realize this work as it was intended. MØL are what we are today, because of the sum of our parts.

"We hope you allow music to take up a bit of time and space, reserved for itself in your lives. It might just end up bringing you a healthy form of emotional escapism, introspection and reflection during a time of great change. Hope to see you live and alive somewhere very soon.

"In the meantime - enjoy this live-session of our single 'Vestige' at The Royal Danish Academy of Music recorded and mastered by Frederik Fede Brandt Jakobsen. Love from Denmark!"

Greyhaven announce new album & release video for 'ALL CANDY'

New album This Bright And Beautiful World out 15th April 2022 via Rude Records/Equal Vision Records

Greyhaven have announced their new album This Bright And Beautiful World, due for release on 15th April 2022 via Rude Records (UK/EU) / Equal Vision Records (RoW). The quartet have also released their new single 'ALL CANDY', their first new music since 2019.

Watch the video for 'ALL CANDY' here: https://youtu.be/WICS3NZv_Pg

'ALL CANDY' will be released on digital streaming platforms at midnight on 5th November 2021, available here: https://greyhaven.lnk.to/allcandy

Pre-order This Bright And Beautiful World here: http://greyhaven.shop/

'ALL CANDY' has a distinct southern sound, channelling a mix of swamp-rock and post-hardcore, highlighted by melodic vocals and pulsating guitars. Written by vocalist Brent Mills, the lyrics shed light on his own battle with depression, demonstrating one’s ability to completely block out any negative thoughts and pretend like everything is fine. The accompanying video, directed by Errick Easterday, narrates through these impulses, before ending with an invigorating performance from the band.

Mills elaborates on the single:

“It’s been far too long since the last release, so we wanted to bring something different to the table with this one. Shed all that bullsh*t you’re carrying around and lean into blissful ignorance for a moment; for better or worse. The one person you can’t run away from is you so you better learn to love it, all of it.”

With two records under their belt (Cult America and Empty Black), Greyhaven utilised their classic chaotic energy when writing This Bright and Beautiful World. Written in five different locations, the band wanted all of their ideas to present themselves once they entered the studio with producer Will Putney at Graphic Nature Audio. Taking pride in simply being “four guys who like to play music”, Greyhaven left with a diverse set of 10 songs that dive into themes of frustration, depression, the inability to fully express yourself and appreciating the darker parts of life, even though that may seem impossible at times.

The band kick off their tour with Seeyouspacecowboy, Vatican, and Wristmeetrazor tomorrow in California, making their way back and forth across the United States.

Legendary atmospheric metal band Aquilus release brooding new single 'Lucille's Gate'

Photo: Mortimer Bellchambers

Bellum I out 3rd December via Blood Music

Legendary atmospheric metal band Aquilus return with the broody and orchestral 'Lucille's Gate', their second single from their second full-length album, Bellum I, out on 3rd December via Blood Music.

Listen to the new track 'Lucille's Gate', premiered by Decibel, here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AsYgPY_j-G4

On the single's concept, AquilusHorace Rosenqvist explains: "This track showcases some of the more blackened metal elements on the album and the killer drumming by the Aquilus live / session drummer Zebadee Scott."

Preorder Bellum I here: http://www.blood-music.com/

"Bellum I is an atmospheric metal album with a fusion of classical film, folk, and black metal influences, continuing in the tradition of the work started on the first album, Griseus, and evolving to new levels," says Rosenqvist.

'Into Wooded Hollows' and 'Lucille's Gate' are the first tastes of new music from the enigmatic band since the release of Griseus, which slowly amassed a following of devoted fans, climbing its way to being voted one of the top albums of the decade on MetalStorm.

For eight years, a follow-up masterpiece was in the making. The opus grew so furiously, the decision was ultimately made to split the work into two parts, culminating with the release of the first album, Bellum I.

Bellum I showcases the band's rare amalgam of authentic classical, European folk and black metal influences, alongside Aquilus' unique multi-instrumentation and compositional complexity.

Metal influences, ranging from early Metallica to the early works of SolefaldOpeth and Katatonia, combine with the classical romanticism of Rachmaninov and Chopin.

Bellum I also continues Aquilus' signature blend of acoustic elements, with an assortment of acoustic guitars and pianos to violins, mandolas, fipple flutes, balalaika, gusli and bowed psaltery, recalling the aura and dexterity of emotive film composers Bernard Herrmann (Psycho, The Twilight Zone) and Thomas Newman (Shawshank Redemption, Six Feet Under) .

Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Aquilus' music is composed and produced by Horace Rosenqvist and recorded in collaboration with session musicians. The amount of detail poured into each note is immeasurable; years of dedication undertaken to produce the final product.

Bellum I is a testament to the beauty and chaos of creation.

Orbit Culture unveil new single / video 'Strangler'

New EP Shaman out now via Seek and Strike

"The sound of a band ready to get back on stage" 8/10 - Metal Hammer

Swedish metallers Orbit Culture have released 'Strangler', the third single from the band’s new EP, Shaman, out now via Seek and Strike.

Watch the video for 'Strangler' here: https://youtu.be/P3-xZgLHhJ0

Purchase Shaman EP here: https://imperi.cn/orbitculture

On the new EP, vocalist and guitarist Niklas Karlsson states: "Shaman has that flow to be executed more in a live setting, which was one of the goals creating it. We want to be a band that's able to run around the stage and engage with the audience, rather than standing in one place and sweating over weird guitar patterns. I think that’s the major difference between Nija to Shaman. We want people to be blown away live and the songs on this EP are somewhat constructed for that. Of course, you’ll get what you expect from us; heavy and fast guitars combined with low-tuned drops followed up by singalong choruses with an exotic twist. I think that describes Shaman's overall vibe."

In the deep forests of southern Sweden lies the small town of Eksjö where the band Orbit Culture originate. The idea of Orbit Culture came to vocalist / rhythm guitarist Niklas Karlson in 2013 whilst working on bedroom demos; he quickly formed and early version of the band, which included drummer Markus Bladh.

Citing Metallica and Gojira as their main heavy influences, Orbit Culture are band who love to experiment with wide a range of sounds and textures to create something that is fresh but also familiar. Nikas comments: "As much as we love metal, we love other music, too. We love a good hard-hitting song as much as the next guy, but we've always found that blending and mixing genres seems more fun for us at least, rather than deciding on a specific genre to write within the metal scene. It really helps us to be creative and motivated. I'm guessing that is something that we'll always do."

Quickly after forming, Orbit Culture released a self-produced EP and an LP, but it was summer 2016 when two new members joined the band - Richard Hansson on the lead guitar and Fredrik Lennartsson on the bass guitar - and the quartet perfectly honed their distinctive sound.

With the new line-up in place the band set to work on previous album Nija and in 2019 caught the attention of the Seek and Strike label, who signed them immediately.

For fans of Trivium, Metallica, Gojira and Architects, Orbit Culture are a band from a small town with big ambitions

'An Epoch Of Degradation' streaming now via Demonstealer Records

The Holocene Termination EP available 3rd December

Demonstealer, one of India's premiere death metal musicians, has revealed his new track 'An Epoch Of Degradation'.

The new song is a second glimpse of Demonstealers' upcoming EP, released 3rd December via Demonstealer Records, and features Anton Zhikharev (Gorgasm) and Krzysztof Klingbein (Deathspawn).

Sahil Makhija, better known as Demonstealer, has long been one of the pillars of the heavy metal scene in India. From being at the vanguard of a fledgling metal scene to becoming one of its most visible and respected proponents today, Demonstealer is integral to the growth of the Indian metal community.

In 2000, Demonstealer formed Demonic Resurrection, one of India’s best known and biggest metal bands. Over the last two decades the band has become one of the most recognizable faces of Indian metal, nationally and internationally. Also in 2000 he established India’s first recording studio dedicated solely to metal - a home to all of the country's top metal bands.

Five years later he launched Demonstealer Records – India’s first metal record label. The roster included the best in India’s burgeoning metal scene, and licensed internationally renowned acts, including Behemoth and Dimmu Borgir. Demonstealer also founded and ran Resurrection Festival, alongside Demonic Resurrection bassist Husain Bandukwala. For years it was India’s only dedicated extreme metal festival. Needless to say, Demonstealer’s impact on the national scene cannot be overstated.

Aside from the success of Demonic Resurrection (5 studio albums, Metal Hammer Golden God award, multiple tours and festivals across UK and Europe), Demonstealer’s solo career is notable. From his debut album And Chaos Will Reign (2008) to 2021’s The Holocene Termination, Sahil has been blazing a thunderous solo trail.

Occasionally however, even a tireless musician like Demonstealer must call in outside forces. The guest appearances on The Holocene Termination are highly impressive, including Eugene Ryabchenko (Fleshgod Apocalypse), Anton Zhikharev (Gorgasm), Simon Schilling (Marduk), Robin Stone (The Amenta, Norse), and Jeff Hughell (Six Feet Under).

The range of talent on display is undeniable – all contributing to a thrilling near-20 minute ride from a highly significant musician.

The Dutch slam-deathcore hybrid six-piece comment: "After over 500 days without setting foot on stage due to the global pandemic affecting us all, our band returned to participate in some of the most surreal performances of our career to date including festival performances at FajtFest, Josefstadt by Brutal Assault, Herrie Metal Fest, and more. This video is our way of sharing with the fans who haven't had a chance to see us just yet - we will see you soon!"

New album Aeons Of Oblivion wraps up the story of Tyrannotophia, the realm of the doomed and the sound of the world's damnation. This draws to a conclusion the final pieces of the fable which the band's previous releases Dawn Of Corruption (2020) and Dusk Of Anguish (2021) laid out. Distant's full-length album totals over one hour of tormenting hymns that deal with Tyrannt’s conquest and hunger for revenge. Featuring five new songs with guest spots including Adam Warren of Oceano and Kyle Anderson of Brand of Sacrifice, the result is a cacophony of carnage that unfolds throughout the whole record.

The new album is also accompanied by a stunning limited edition hardback novel: 'The Rise of Tyrannotophia' which has been co-written by the band's vocalist, Alan Grnja and bass player, Elmer Maurits.

The band are also due to hit the road in late January 2022 alongside Lorna Shore and Cabal for a string of UK dates.

23/01 Birmingham, UK @ Flapper
24/01 Manchester, UK @ Rebellion
25/01 Leeds, UK @ Key Club
27/01 Bristol, UK @ Exchange
28/01 Glasgow, UK @ Cathouse
30/01 London, UK @ Boston Music Room

Hailing from Rotterdam, The Netherlands and Bratislava, Slovakia, Distant have produced some of their most ferocious work to date with the announcement of their fourth release for Unique Leader. Featuring cover artwork by Calean Stokkermans (The Acacia Strain, Lorna Shore, Misery Index), Distant perform the dark hymns of the fallen kingdom for listeners to experience the atmospheric despair and the grotesque void to come. Since 2014 the band have bludgeoned their way across Europe, with the release of their first two EPs Slither (2015) and Tsukuyomi (2017). Recently joining forces with Unique Leader to release their debut full-length album Tyrannotophia (June 2019), Dawn of Corruption EP (2020), Dusk Of Anguish (2021) and now Aeons of Oblivion (June 2021).

Instrumental prog group Outrun the Sunlight stream new single 'A Way With Honesty'

A Vast Field of Silence LP out 12th November

Chicago instrumental progressive quintet Outrun the Sunlight have unveiled another beautiful new single, 'A Way With Honesty', from their forthcoming album A Vast Field of Silence, to be released 12th November.

Stream the single here: https://youtu.be/NI07t-G_kYw

Of the new track guitarist Austin Peters comments: "This song is a bit of a love-letter to shoegaze music. As we were writing this, we kept finding more and more ways to hold back on our usual tricks, deliberately choosing to keep the flow more traditional. Making sonic choices like using an actual Rhodes, keeping the instruments raw, and picking dirtier sounds for the guitars made it feel more organic and nostalgic. We just wanted to see what would happen if you combined grunge and progressive metal."

A Vast Field of Silence pre-orders:

Physical pre-order: https://www.athousandarms.com/collections/outrunthesunlight
Digital pre-order: https://outrunthesunlight.bandcamp.com/album/a-vast-field-of-silence

A Vast Field of Silence is the Chicagoans fourth LP, and four years in the making. The thematic record is a wordless concept album, based around a recurring melody appearing throughout. Most clearly stated in the album opener ‘Awareness’, the beautiful theme is typical of Outrun the Sunlight, an unusually cinematic and compositionally-heavy group in the genre.

Although anchored to the theme, A Vast Field of Silence is a satisfyingly surprising record, one that is a journey of a listen. Going beyond simply instrumental progressive, the band incorporate elements of acoustic ambient, jazz, post-rock, and metal. Bearing comparisons to Cloudkicker, The Contortionist, and Russian Circles, A Vast Field of Silence is Outrun the Sunlight at their best.

The band have a huge depth and range of musical talent at their disposal: Kyle Kunkler (keys) is a professional dance piano accompanist (ballet, modern, and more) and composer, and custom-coded a majority of the synths heard on the album. Luke Angle (drummer) is a professional music instructor, from big-band jazz to math rock via country & western. Phil Kalas (bass) is also a composer, under the name Asleep In The Stars, while guitarists, Cody McCarty and Austin Peters formed the group in 2011, and have known each other since playing together in high school bands from 2008. Austin, aside from Outrun the Sunlight, has also practiced embodiment meditation since 2017, and is the founder of “Simple Being”, which produces recorded meditations with voice and ambient music.

With forming in 2011, the band released both Architecture of the Cosmos EP and debut LP The Return of Inertia in the same year. Signing with Rogue Records America in 2012, the duo re-released The Return of Inertia (Vocalist Version) which included vocalists from around the world, plus two bonus tracks. In 2014, the addition of drummer, Pedro Villegas, and bassist, Connor Grant, brought the band to the stage, and they released their second album Terrapin also on Rogue Records. In August 2015, following the release of Live at Electrical Audio EP, the group toured in the east coast United States with Native Construct (Metal Blade Records) and Wings Denied.

In 2016 Outrun the Sunlight went on to perform on Chicago internet music series, Audiotree, releasing the live album Outrun the Sunlight on Audiotree Live. They then released Red Bird independently in 2017, their third LP, the first instance that the group performed together on an album. A band not content to rest, they then released a live in-studio record, Emerge, in January 2021.

With the Covid-19 interruption and introduction of a new drummer, Outrun the Sunlight’s newest LP has eventually been four years in the making, from first conception ‘til release – but well worth the long wait.

Outrun the Sunlight are:

Austin Peters - Guitar
Cody McCarty - Guitar

BAILER release video for new single 'There Is A Love That Remains'

Debut album Disposable Youth out 12th November 2021 via Blood Blast Distribution

“absolute archetype of savagery”Alex Baker, Kerrang! Radio Fresh Blood

Irish metallic hardcore quartet BAILER have released a video for their new single 'There Is A Love That Remains'. The hard-hitting track is the fourth taste of their long-awaited debut album Disposable Youth, due for release on 12th November 2021 via Blood Blast Distribution.

Check out the video for 'There Is A Love That Remains' here: https://youtu.be/bDo_5v2_fqQ

Vocalist Alex O’Leary explains the meaning behind their new single:

"'There Is A Love That Remains' covers a lot of stuff at the same time for me personally, but the ultimate message/lesson is make the most of the time you get with the ones you love. You never know when it might be the last time."

BAILER have also launched the vinyl pre-order for Disposable Youth. Pre-order the album and stream 'There Is A Love That Remains' here: https://bfan.link/blr

Following on from 2018's self-titled EP (Distroy Records), 2017’s PTSD and 2016’s Shaped By The Landscape, BAILER’s ambitious collection of tracks is about to expand and truly propel their notoriety outside of their native Ireland.

Recorded, mixed, mastered and produced by Lewis Johns at The Ranch Production House in Southampton, Disposable Youth dives into a grim view of the world from a place of manic depression and nihilism. 100% of the material was written in a room together: no writing on computers or demos being shared around virtually. For Disposable Youth, BAILER consciously decided to write every single song in a jam room together, fleshing it all out and creating what felt right in real life. There's nothing wrong or right about any form of creativity, but the results speak for themselves.

Having impressively garnered attention from Metal Hammer, Kerrang!, Metal Injection and Heavy Blog Is Heavy so early into their career, BAILER have proven to be Ireland's most exhilarating heavy band. With an impressive live résumé to match, playing shows alongside Norma Jean, Sick Of It All, The Black Dahlia Murder, Conjurer, Employed To Serve, Palm Reader, Malevolence, God Mother, Coilguns and more, the quartet are setting their sights on becoming one of hardcore's most exciting prospects.

In the years leading up to the COVID-19 pandemic, BAILER began to mark their territory further afield, having successfully toured Russia and the UK extensively in support of their EPs. Now, with their debut album on the horizon and after kicking off proceedings with Bloodstock Festival last month, BAILER are eager to get back on international stages.
