This is Near Death Condition's first new music since 2014's full-length Evolving Towards Extinction.

On the new single, the band comment: “The Universe consists of elements that don’t go without its opposite: light and darkness, the masculine and the feminine, the infinitely large and the infinitely small, the good and the evil. Every thing needs its opposite to exist. And 'The Bridal Chamber', through the metaphor of the twin souls painfully separated from birth in search of the other with the nostalgia of this lost unity, is a hymn to the union of these opposites that can turn ignorance into wisdom.”

On the album Ascent from the Mundane, they continue: "With references to Gnosticism, Ascent from the Mundane is a hymn to the spark of light trapped in the darkness of the world of matter that every human being is made of and is inspired by an introspection, a spiritual journey towards the deepest being, a connection in mindfulness with the darkest side of oneself to let the brightest side shine out. Imbued with darkness and light, the contrast between crawling-in-the-mire rhythmic parts topped with unhinged vocals and otherworldly cosmic lead guitars makes this album an attempt to remind that nothing is completely dark even when it sometimes seems to during the hardest times in life, and that light can only be revealed within darkness.”

Party-slam legends Party Cannon nod to their influences with new single / video

'I Believe in Dani Filth' streaming now

New album Volumes of Vomit out 14th January via Gore House Productions

Scottish party-slam legends (and stuff of nightmares) Party Cannon are a band that never run out of ideas. Selling themselves as conceptually idiotic, musically gifted, legends of partying, and the band with the best logo in death metal, Party Cannon pay less-than-subtle homage to their influences with new single 'I Believe in Dani Filth'.

Watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QW8M_a3XzfQ

Pre-order Volumes Of Vomit here: https://orcd.co/partycannon-volumesofvomit

Commenting on the music video, Cradle of Filth fanatic, Dani Filth number-one fan, and bassist Clankenstein states, “We are going where no slamming death metal band has gone before - the 16-bit realm. Party Slam has been challenged and only one man is capable of defeating us, clearly that man is Dani Filth. Like most unremarkable men in their late twenties, we are obsessed with old school video games and feel we've managed to work that into our music in a cool and unique way with this video. The video was animated by our good friends Bailey Junior and Colin MacGregor Make Over at Scapegoat.TV and is laden with Easter eggs and Party Slam lore."

Continuing on the inspiration of the song, Clankenstein explains, "This track is one of the most intense songs we have ever written and definitely showcases our love for early 2000s brutal death metal with lots of nods (read: plagiarised riffs) to bands like Deeds of FleshGorgasm and Disavowed while still cramming in as many horrendous noises and IQ-lowering slam riffs as possible. Expect relentless blasting, pinch harmonics, and sounds no human should ever even consider making."

Forthcoming album Volumes Of Vomit offers up nine chunks of IQ-lowering, slamming sickness, mass-gaining gym riffs, irresponsibly fast blastbeats, and the swampiest gutturals known to mankind and in true Party Cannon over-the-top style, is not your normal death metal album. This is fully fledged party slam at its most unhinged.

Produced by Jörg Uken (Defeated SanitySinisterAnvilDespondency) at Soundlodge Studios, Volumes Of Vomit delivers the most brutal sound of the band’s career. Raw, live and crushing, you’ll feel like you’re actually in the room with these terrible people - who brought in their well-known guttural friends Ross Sewage (Exhumed), Don Campan (Waking The Cadaver) and Andrew Lomastro (Cerebral Incubation) to assist in the madness.

The album cover and sleeve collages were handled by Jan Grotle of FLUIDS and Cochino Art.

Hailing from Dunfermline, Scotland and signed to Gore House ProductionsParty Cannon have subjected a large portion of the planet to their partying having frequently toured the UK, Europe, North America and Asia. Making waves since their inception in 2010, their debut EP Partied In Half is now considered an iconic release within the slam death metal scene.

Famously, Party Cannon's multicolour party balloon not only stands out against frosty-branched-logo-bands wherever it appears on gig posters, but regularly pops up globally. Make no mistake, Party Cannon know how to stand out.

Party Cannon are:

Stony 'Stony' – Vocals
Mike 'Exceptional Body Hair' – Guitars
Craig 'Shreddy Krueger' – Guitars
Chris 'Clankenstein' – Bass
Martin 'Count Blastula' - Drums

Bitter Branches comment on the new single:
"Power is yours to give to yourself, and yours to take away. Not alleging it ’s easy - or that bad actors won’t try to take it from you - but don’t just give it away. Real freedom and power come from ditching your crutches, facing your fears, and from letting go of what other people think. Comparison is the thief of joy."

'Solo Trip' is a slow burning tune that emphasises the band's caustic post-hardcore inspired style and clever song-writing approach. Equal parts anguished and angular, the track builds on a powerful crescendo of atonal guitar riffs supported by a crushing groove that will satisfy the punk rockers as much as it will the metalheads, all accompanied by a sinister animated visualizer.

The album will also be available as a limited edition red/white vinyl variant available for pre-order through BrooklynVegan. Comprised of Tim Singer (DeadguyKiss It GoodbyeNo Escape), guitarists Matt Ryan (Calvary) and Kevin Sommerville (Lighten Up!) along with drummer Jeff Tirabassi (Walleye), the band have added the inimitable talents of Dan Yemin (LifetimeKid DynamitePaint It Black) to their monstrous live machine following the departure of bassist Brian Kantorek. The group continue to push the boundaries of their genre to give the listener something special - an exploration of the musical pedigree the groups legendary lineup has honed throughout years of touring and recording.

About Bitter Branches
While it would be easy to rely on storied musical resumes and just relive past glories, Philadelphia’s Bitter Branches have taken a decidedly opposite approach. Consisting of members of Deadguy, No Escape, Calvary, Walleye, The Curse, Lighten Up! and more, the band step away from the sounds of the past to further explore the possibilities of punk and hardcore. Their songs speak to the thoughtful frustration gained from years of experiencing first-hand exactly how the world does and oftentimes doesn’t work; and from seeing both peers and heroes fade slowly into comfortable obscurity. Rather than hopeful daydreams, Bitter Branches offer a refreshingly honest observation of society, with scrapes and scars on full display.

Musically, the band has little interest in conforming to the sound of the moment, instead building upon skills honed over years of touring and performing to create something that is unquestionably greater than the sum of the individual parts. Mix in a year of cancelled shows replaced with focused practice and writing, and you have a whole new album before you can say coronavirus. Your Neighbors Are Failures will take you on a rollercoaster of crushing lows and effervescent highs - delivering a tour de force of thunderous songs and more thrills than a summer blockbuster.

Great American Ghost release new single and announce upcoming EP

'Kingmaker' streaming now via MNRK Heavy

Torture World EP available January 21st 2022

Boston's Great American Ghost have released their first single, 'Kingmaker', from their upcoming EP. Torture World will be released 21st January 2022 via MNRK Heavy.

Check out the new single and video for 'Kingmaker', premiered via Metal Injection, here: https://metalinjection.net/video/great-american-ghost-throws-down-on-new-song-kingmaker

Pre-order the Torture World EP here: https://tortureworld.com/

The metallic but angular, sharply percussive EP opener showcases the band's attention to detail in crafting instrumentation, carefully weaving through choruses, breakdowns, and bludgeoning riffs. Musing over their mutual love for Nine Inch Nails and industrial metal, vocalist Ethan Harrison explains the influence it had over Torture World's first single 'Kingmaker':

"'Kingmaker' is a song I wrote at the height of the QAnon hysteria. It was my own observation on the kind of people that allow something so clearly based in racism and bigotry, that has been propagated for hundreds of years just to be repackaged and resold as something new and original, to fuel their every choice and how much that disgusts me. Somethings should be rejected on their face."

Produced by Will Putney (A Day to Remember, Knocked Loose, The Amity Affliction), who also handled the band's critically-adored 2019 LP Power Through Terror, Great American Ghost use Torture World to direct old-school hardcore wrath at hypocrisy, apathy, and self-loathing, delivered in a dark cloud of relentlessly bludgeoning riffs. The EP's title track blends atmospheric melodies with unrelenting heaviness, maneuvering swiftly between classic death metal, uplifting hardcore, and double bass-fuelled fury. 'Womb' is as fast and severe as anything originating from the frozen forests of Scandinavia, swinging wildly back and forth between blackened death and slow sludge. 'Death Forgives No One' concludes the proceedings with a progressive bend, equal parts driving and haunting with an almost esoteric quality beneath it all.

The triumphant post-pandemic return in front of 10,000 enthusiastic people at The Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts, was a testament to just how successfully GREAT AMERICAN GHOST connect through their steady stream of furious music. Dubbed as being "always hateful, always pissed," the band steadily built a devoted following with the bleak and punishing Everyone Leaves (2015), Hatred Stems From The Seed (2017), Don't Come Back EP (2016), and Power Through Terror (2019).

Even as the worldwide shutdown and personal adversities big and small threatened to derail the band, perseverance ultimately prevailed, resulting in the four-song Torture World EP poised to take the band's vicious bile in new directions.

"We were excited about Power Through Terror and ready to hit the road as much as humanly possible," Harrison recalls. "We had a bunch of touring ready to roll when the record came out in February. Then we were locked down in March. It was a really long eighteen months for us, like most people. There were a lot of points where really bad things happened, and we thought, 'Well, maybe we just don't want to do the band anymore.' My mental health was going downward. We had a really horrible year, honestly."

As the light began to creep in toward the end of the tunnel, with plans for shows and even touring on the horizon, Harrison and his bandmates - Niko Gasparrini and Davier Perez - began to feel some glimmers of hope. "The conversation started to feel more real. It gave me a feeling that I hadn't had in a long time. I missed the band even more than I realised. We didn't have any pressure or expectations in terms of how Torture World should sound. We did what we wanted and this is what came from it. There's a larger scope of sound happening than on our earlier releases. Bells, percussion, a lot of extra instrumentation. And the riffs are still there."

Early releases tackled feelings of hopelessness, thoughts of suicide, and bitterness about broken relationships with naked aggression. On Power Through TerrorHarrison turned his poison pin outward, going after government complicity in sex trafficking and abuse; a friend's debilitating struggle with alcoholism; the fear of failure that keeps so many bound up in apathy. Torture World tackles several issues with urgency and passion, not the least of which is the struggle for equality and the resulting social unrest magnified in recent years. "As a white cisgender male, I'm not in a position to say that I'm oppressed. It's not my story to tell," Harrison cautions. "But I have a huge problem with the disparity that occurs inside of this civilisation that we occupy. Torture World has a duel meaning. Some songs on the EP are extremely political and there are some extremely personal songs. Both things bleed into each other."

It's an approach to the lyrical side of the band that continues to apply to their music. Since the first time a punk rocker palm-muted a guitar, there's been a debate about what constitutes as 'true' hardcore, crossover, thrash, metalcore, ad nauseam. Great American Ghost are comfortably beyond that conversation. "I'm so sick of the whole subgenre thing," explains Harrison"We've always been in this middle ground. Some people who listen to metal don't see us as a metal band. We've never been a straight-up hardcore band. So, we don't really care. I only care whether or not people get it. As long as they get it, or it changes them or touches them emotionally in some way. Call us whatever you want."

The band comment on the new single:

"Listeners familiar with Noija will definitely recognise the characteristics of our musical profile in 'Take Your Love and Leave', yet at the same time enjoy the fast-paced tempo and singalong friendly lyrics. For new listeners the song gives a good introduction to the band and the direction in which we're heading."

Noija pride themselves on being a DIY band, producing all of their own music, as well as their videos and aesthetics. Taking inspiration from a wide range of acts across the alternative music scene, including PVRIS, Bring Me The Horizon and The Plot In You, Noija's music ranges from heavy riffs and acoustic arrangements to songs flirting with modern pop. The lyrical content of Noija’s songs revolves around individual perception and experiences, with a tight connection to mental health, personal struggle and love.

Sugar Horse release live version of debut album The Live Long After

The LIVE Long After out now

'A sucker punch of sludge-punk' - Knotfest.com
'Riff merchants expertly balance filth and ambience' - Metal Hammer

Mercurial Bristol rockers Sugar Horse have released a live version of their acclaimed debut LP The Live Long After (released 27th August 2021 via Small Pond Records).

Stream the new album, The LIVE Long After, here:
https://sugarhorse.bandcamp.com/album/the-live-long-after-2

Sugar Horse have also filmed a stunning live version of their track 'The Great British Death Cult', recorded jointly at Small Pond studios and Brighton Unitarian church.

Watch: https://youtu.be/t-H6pDI45kA

Lyrically based around the fear of the unknown, The Live Long After is a caustic, visceral, and highly engaging listen. From the uneasy opening notes of the introduction 'I Am Not Now' (an anti-hymn based on an ancient Byzantine chant), to 'Live Long' (a doom track about the endless void) and 'Death Cult', (which discusses Aleph, the Japanese doomsday movement), the record is an indication of a band bursting with things to say.

It's not for nothing that Sugar Horse have become known as a nonconformist band. Their previous EPs Druj and Drugs were acclaimed amalgams of doom, hardcore, stoner and punk, and The Live Long After continues this curious trend.

Indications of My Bloody Valentine, Cult of Luna, Deafheaven and Oceansize can be heard throughout the record, but still only touch upon the wide variety of sounds and influences Sugar Horse explore. A band who were due to tour with Black Peaks before the inevitable Covid disruption, and who have toured with Vennart and played ArcTanGent, Sugar Horse have received early praise from Upset Magazine, Metal Hammer, and Kerrang!.

Forming in 2015 as a trio in a flat in Bristol, Sugar Horse fully came into being in 2019 with the addition of Jake Healy on baritone guitar and keyboards. Seeking to break away from emerging trends in their scene, the band's emphasis on simplicity and down-tempo heft belies an impressive sense of self-awareness and maturity. In their own words: "I think the best art is formed when it's creators enforce rigid rules on themselves. Mondrian had geometry, Mark E Smith had his hatred for cigarette taxation and we have a complete disregard for urgency."

Breathe Atlantis release video for brand new single 'Earthquake'

'Earthquake' out now via Arising Empire

German quartet Breathe Atlantis are making the metalcore scene shake with their brand new single 'Earthquake', out now via Arising Empire.

Check out the video for 'Earthquake' here: https://youtu.be/HL93qakoqfM

Stream/purchase 'Earthquake' here: https://BreatheAtlantis.lnk.to/earthquake

'Earthquake' is bursting with fierce energy, catchy choruses and offers hope and strength in the fight against our dark side. The track sounds like a relentless battle between good and evil, offering a ping-pong match of emotions. Brutal, mosh-inducing verses duels with a chorus full of courage and hope, before the massive breakdown evokes an emotional apocalypse.

Vocalist Nico Schiesewitz comments:

"'Earthquake' is our confrontation with the cr*p that's going on around us right now and that is slowly eating you alive. In these times it's really hard to not let the darkness win inside you and fight against it. Probably a lot of you know this moment when you feel lost and think that everything is going down the drain. But that's when it's important to stay upright and fight for the good in you."

Guitarist Jan Euler adds:

"I think we've finally found our sound and it's fun to see the new material being embraced. With 'Earthquake', we managed to combine all our musical facets and still deliver a raw and uncompromising sound. For us, the last years were not easy, we had to accept setbacks and pick ourselves up again and again. There were days when you didn't know if you had already lost or if there was still a spark of hope that what we were doing made sense."

'Earthquake' follows Breathe Atlantis' previous singles 'Overdrive' and most recently 'Savior', which featured Imminence's Eddie Berg. The band have also confirmed a new album is on the way - stay tuned for more details soon.

Euler concludes:

"We now know where our journey with Breathe Atlantis is going. The album is done and will be out next spring. We still have some musical surprises up our sleeve and I believe it will be our strongest, most honest album."
