Atoll hit the metal community hard and fast with tons of blood and guts with their debut album The Gathering Swarm (Ghastly Music) in 2016. Their album was recorded by the late Griffin Kolinski (Knights of the Abyss) at Hourglass Studios and mastered by Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, Wretched, For Today) at The Basement Recordings NC, giving the album a highly impactful aural presence.

With the worldwide debut, The Gathering Swarm received high praise from fans and press sources all around, as well as making several top album lists. Atoll has kept up pace by supporting the release to fans with high energy live performances and earned them a slot on Las Vegas Death Fest 2017 and on Los Angeles Extermination Fest 2017.

The fast-paced energy Atoll pushed out quickly got the attention of New York based Extreme Management Group giving Atoll a home on the roster shared with bands like Suffocation, Cattle Decapitation, Cryptopsy, Origin, Decrepit Birth, Athiest, Rings of Saturn, Internal Bleeding, and more.

After signing to Los Angeles based Gore House Productions the band released their sophomore album, Fallout Frenzy, in November 2017. They completed their Gore house Productions catalogue with their 3rd album, Zoopocalypse, released in November 2019. Now signed with the immeasurable Unique Leader Records, Atoll is an active force in the slam scene and undeniably in pursuit of global domination.

Dayseeker release video for brand new single 'Neon Grave'

'Neon Grave' out now via Spinefarm Records

Southern California's Dayseeker have released a video for their brand new single 'Neon Grave', out now via Spinefarm Records.

The deeply personal track, produced by Daniel Braunstein (Spiritbox, Volumes) and mixed by Henrik Udd (Architects, Bring Me The Horizon), represents the first new material from the band since their breakthrough fourth album, 2019's Sleeptalk.

"'Neon Grave' is about my father passing in July of last year," says vocalist Rory Rodriguez. "It's about my relentless desire for heaven and earth to collide into one another so I can see him again."

After steadily building a buzz for several years, Dayseeker have reached a tipping point. The quartet built themselves into a scene standout with 2019's Sleeptalk, which was hailed by Alternative Press as "a warm and welcome release to higher ground" and as "much needed fresh air into the post-hardcore scene." The album has gone on to accumulate over 91 million streams, positioning the band as a formidable force — and one that is primed to take their next big leap. In 2021, Dayseeker dropped a deluxe version of Sleeptalk, featuring four reimagined versions of album tracks, which offered fans a fresh and unique take on songs they already love. It also demonstrated the depth and breadth of the band's creative vision, scope and possibilities. With their new song 'Neon Grave', this is Dayseeker's moment.

Dayseeker will return to the road next month, for a headline tour that runs from 2nd April to 13th May. The band will be performing Sleeptalk in its entirety on this run. Support will come from Holding Absence, Thornhill, and Caskets.

BRKN LOVE release video for brand new single 'Like A Drug'

Toronto-based alt-rock band BRKN LOVE have released new single 'Like A Drug', out now via Spinefarm Records. The track arrives with an accompanying music video, featuring Royal Thunder frontwoman Mlny Parsonz

Songwriter and frontmanJustin Benlolo says:

“I became infatuated with 70’s disco and funk over the last year, I really loved that a lot of those influences were showing up in modern music again. In this song, we decided to embody the groove of those timeless classics whilst mixing in our own blend of dark and moody riff-rock. In a sense, this is a rock and roll party song.

"Lyrically, it’s the story of star-crossed lovers who are tied up in a toxic relationship. It’s become a “one sided” relationship, yet this person still justifies their love while being an absolute piece of garbage. As I’ve grown older, I’ve seen this happen too many times and decided it would be an interesting thing to touch on. I think a lot of people could relate to this and are probably in that situation right now. I tried to think of what the “bad guy” might be thinking in this context and what motivates them. All in all, while the lyrics may be serious, I hope this song makes you get up and move!

"We also shot a video in between a few shows last fall - our most silly and fun yet! Ultimately, we decided that this song and it’s up-beat feel needed a cheeky video to accompany the vibe. Our friend,Mlny Parsonz(Royal Thunder), was cool enough to come down to the shoot and play a part in this as well. I’m very excited for everyone to hear this thing and I hope you’ll be ready for what we got coming next. Thank you.”

'Like a Drug' follows previous single 'Deadweight', which BBC Radio One’s Future Artists presenter Jack Saunders called “The new age of rock and roll.” Check out 'Deadweight' here: https://youtu.be/ALcTSVeg3BE

About BRKN LOVE:

Fronted by the compelling Justin Benlolo, BRKN LOVE have been creating quite the stir since the release of their self-titled debut album. Picking up over 253 million streams to date, with their Spotify monthly listeners peaking at 580k, single 'Shot Down' landed at #15 in US Active Rock radio charts and #5 in the Canadian equivalent, whilst 'Crush' reached #5 in Canada’s Active Rock radio charts.
Additionally, the band's cover of Bishop Briggs' 'River' has become something of a viral sensation. Recorded specifically for a special deluxe version of their debut record, it currently has over 50,000 unique TikTok videos featuring the track, boasting over 1.9 billion total views across all user and professionally-generated content platforms.

Previous single 'Deadweight', the first new track to follow the band's debut album, went straight in the Top 15 on Canadian Active Rock radio and has seen the hype carry overseas, with BBC Radio One presenters Dan P. Carter and Jack Saunders both giving the song airtime. Saunders called it “The new age of rock and roll” on his BBC Radio One Future Artists show.

Meanwhile, amongst all this early success, Justin Benlolo has been picked up by Gibson Guitars to promote the new line of Gibson Guitar Strings.

Belgian shoegazers Slow Crush release B-side, 'Billow'

Hush LP out now via Church Road Records

Celebrated Belgian shoegazers Slow Crush have revealed 'Billow', the B-side to their previously released single/video 'Blue'.

Watch 'Blue' here: https://bfan.link/blue-billow

Of the song, the band comment: "Both songs were recorded during the recording session of our new album Hush. 'Billow' didn’t make the cut because it didn’t fit the flow of the album as a whole anymore since we try to tell a story on an album. Every song has it’s spot and Hush wouldn’t work for us in any other progression or order of songs.

'Billow' was supposed to be the song right after ‘Blue’ so it made sense to release them together as a single because they still work and fit side by side. It’s a song stark with contrast, up-tempo but collapsing down every few measures. It’s this exact contrast that helped to shape the lyrics to the song or visa versa. Finding your own path and the struggle through hardships of life however big or small they might be."

The result of songs written between tours, with unexpected downtime in the chaos of a pandemic, Hush showcases recurring Slow Crush themes, first demonstrated on their debut LP Aurora (2018). Slow Crush fully flex their creative muscles with another truly impressive sonic display on Hush - wistful longing and tranquil bearing contrasting beautifully with cascading echoes of glorious noise.

Some of the band’s darkest and yet most hope-filled music to date – Hush is their proverbial calm before the storm. Radiating warmth through a haze of abrasive layered guitars and the beautiful soul of Isa Holliday’s vocals, Hush surpasses Slow Crush’s highly-acclaimed debut album Aurora in both songwriting and musicianship.

Following the acclaim of Aurora (now on its fourth vinyl pressing), Slow Crush toured nonstop for eighteen months, with the likes of Pelican, Torche, Soft Kill, Gouge Away and playing festivals like Roadburn, Arctangent, 2000Trees, Groez Rock.

Like the rest of the world, Covid-19 severely impacted the band’s plans – but they turned it to their advantage. Cancelling two European tours and one last-minute US tour was a blessing in disguise, allowingSlow Crushto regroup and rethink in a turbulent period.

Musically and lyrically Hush takes a slightly darker path, touching on the events and issues of the past year. Hush was recorded mid-pandemic in January 2021 in Ghent, Belgium, in whirling rain and snow. As with Aurora, Hush has the intensity and guile to fully envelop the listener, allowing them to form their own narrations of the story the band weave throughout.

Death metallers The Dark Alamorté release new single 'Ungiving Sorrow'

Lunacrium Thepsis out 20th May via Unique Leader Records

Blackened-death metallers The Dark Alamorté have released their new single 'Ungiving Sorrow'. The track is the second to be released from their upcoming record Lunacrium Thepsis, since signing to Unique Leader RecordsLunacrium Thepsis, a crushing mix of ambient death metal, fusing bleak and melancholic atmospherics with a dense wave of brutality, will be released on 20th May.

Watch 'Ungiving Sorrow' here: https://youtu.be/pTF-P9_217w
Pre-order Lunacrium Thepsis here: https://orcd.co/lunacriumthepsis

The Dark Alamorté are defined as pluralised entities that are half dead beings, who act as an augur of divine prophecy. Lunacrium Thepsis is the beginning of a saga series, produced through literary, musical, and personal art forms. The term loosely translates to "a freezing state in the presence of moonlight".

Commenting on the upcoming album, the band state:
"The album is told in both first and third person, creating a journey that interlaces vulnerability and aggression, coated as weakness and strength in its rawest form. Surrender the mortal self and walk alongside the main character. Our tale begins within the black shadows of Realm Vekrifinor during the First Age of Brinic. Life after the great battle War Blazar was known as The Trial of Black Mourning. Before the great battle dwelled an entity beyond the thorn gate, far beyond the black end. No value of life existed; laid in the slumber of abhorrence. An underlying purpose of a lifeline born to have meaning - or none at all."

Each track tells a chapter of how the main character reaches Lunacrium Thepsis, who many believe is the path to salvation. Will our hero follow the path to glory? Or will he succumb to the ferocious fear and inadequacy of the ill-fated mortal? This stoic and impassive chronicle introduces suspense, eagerness, violence, and wonder in a world with a fractured beginning. Caught in the crossfire with a life of torment.

Traversing the realms of a genre that has been rehashed and redesigned many times, The Dark Alamorté confronts black metal's conventional soundscape by weaving in their own brand of ambience and death metal. An ethereal avalanche that threaten to consume you as ghostly melodies carry the listener away on a wave of dissonant bliss. Accompanied with unrelenting drums and devastating vocals, The Dark Alamorté will leave you with a haunting memory.

New artist Kubrick releases alternate version of 'Mannequin' single featuring Spencer Charnas

For fans of Bring Me The Horizon, The Weeknd, Billie Eilish

'Dizzyingly raucous' - Rock Sound

New alternative artist Kubrick has revealed a new version of his single 'Mannequin', featuring Ice Nine Kills' Spencer Charnas.

Stream 'Mannequin' featuring Spencer Charnas here: https://ditto.fm/mannequin-kubrick-featuring-spencer-charnas

This is Kubrick's second collaboration with Ice Nine Kills after featuring on their 2018 track 'Enjoy Your Slay'.

Kubrick will be playing his debut live show at London's Underworld on 23rd April with TheCityIsOurs. Tickets available here. 'Mannequin' is the third stunning single from the unique new artist following the successful 'Painfall' and 'Devastate', which have gathered over 85,000 streams already.

Of the new single, Kubrick says: "'Mannequin' is my favourite track to date, it combines elements from two of my favourite genres, Dark Pop and Metal. The track details a deeply harrowing conflict I went through with a loved one. The lyrics are both dramatic and unflinchingly honest, if anyone has ever fallen out with one of the most important people in their lives this song will probably speak to 'em."

Kubrick has been performing and composing his music in various guises for over a decade. A child of two opera singers, and grandson of the globally-famous film director that bears his name, Kubrick was constantly surrounded by creative influences.

Kubrick's favourite artists and composers are those who created music depicting their experiences of pain and loss, as well as horror and sci-fi soundtracks. Kubrick himself is no stranger to tragedy, losing his mother at a young age and subsequently his close friend and fellow bandmember in Shields.

“Whilst the trauma of these losses is something I wish I could erase,” states Kubrick, "the perspective I gained from those experiences helped me leaps and bounds in my ability to empathise with others. As well as lay a foundation for the type of music I now enjoy to create”.

Kubrick strives to release the most authentic and unforgivingly personal songs which his audience can also interpret in a multitude of ways. Driving his sound is his unique cocktail of growling guitars and cinematic synthesisers which blend seamlessly with his multi-varied vocal styles. Elements of artists as varied as Bring Me The Horizon, Billie Eilish, The Weeknd, and Linkin Park all can be heard from this truly talented new force.

As Kubrick emphasises, “I don’t think I will ever just stick to one “sound” or “genre” as my taste is continually evolving. My songwriting will never be dictated by what people want to hear, or what’s trending at any particular point. The plan is just to be unforgivably myself."

Heavy hard rockers Daxx & Roxane release Florence & the Machine cover, drop new EP

'Delilah' streaming now

DROP EP out TODAY

London-based heavy hard rockers Daxx & Roxane have revealed their new single from their new covers EP, a heartfelt rendition of Florence & the Machine's track 'Delilah'. The song is the final single to be released from the band's brand new covers EP, DROP, released today (Friday 25th March).

Stream 'Delilah' here: https://push.fm/fl/delilah

Stream DROP EP here: https://push.fm/fl/drop-ep

The band comment on the release of the new single: "The dreamlike and powerful vibe of this track is what you get when you mix the charm and delicateness of Florence & the Machine with the raw energy of more vintage acts such as Billy Idol or The Stooges. With this unpredictable mix of influences, we tried to come up with the recipe for a blistering foot-stomping cover of the 2015 hit."

'Delilah' follows Daxx & Roxane's previous releases: covers of Sammy Hagar's 'Heavy Metal', Stevie Wonder's 'Superstition' and Téléphone's legendary track 'Argent Trop Cher', the first ever to be translated into English. Of the brand new EP, drummer Luca Senaldi explains: "This EP is our creative release in between albums. It's a way for us to exercise the music that inspired us and also to experiment with new recording techniques at our home studio. We didn't want to go for any obvious covers so we learned more than a 100 songs and ended with these four tracks that really stood out in our style."

The quartet started off as a thrash metal band and eventually found their sound in the New Wave of Classic Rock scene with their debut EP 4X4 (2016)first full-length album Ticket to Rock (2017), and the swaggering self-titled follow-up in 2020. Garnering support and attention from Planet Rock, Emerging Rock Bands and more, the band have also shared their explosive live performances on stages at Bloodstock FestivalHard Rock HellMontreux Jazz FestivalRockin' the Bowl, and have supported the likes of HIMBiters, and Bad Touch.

The Oklahoma Kid release video for new single 'A Velvet Feel'

Tangerine Tragic album due 3rd June via Arising Empire

Modern metal quintet The Oklahoma Kid have released a video for their brand new single 'A Velvet Feel', taken from their upcoming full-length release, Tangerine Tragic, due out 3rd June 2022 via Arising Empire.

Check out the music video for 'A Velvet Feel' here: https://youtu.be/fwuyyMlsdjc

Known for their unique blend of genres, the avant-garde five-piece continue to push boundaries and break old conventions. 'A Velvet Feel' follows the previous singles 'Come Undone', 'Melt Into You', and 'Pale Tongue', disturbing trips with psychedelic visuals and heavy rhythms, deeply influenced by early millennial industrial music and Neue Deutsche Härte, with melodic heaviness bursting at the seams.

Pre-order Tangerine Tragic here: https://arisingempire.com/tangerinetragic

Following the success of debut album Solarray (2019) The Oklahoma Kid set their focus on writing new music with one simple goal in mind, to better themselves and create something that fans will truly crave, resulting in new album Tangerine Tragic. Built on the strengths of Solarra, Tangerine Tragic experiments with new ideas and concepts that are as gentle as a breeze and also strike hard as a wrecking ball. The album was recorded and produced by Jan Kerscher (Ghost City Recordings), and mixed and mastered by Lance Prenc (Alpha Wolf, Polaris, Dealer), giving the production its full blown punch.

Guitarist Andreas Reinhard comments:

“We are always trying to get different influences into our music, that’s why we were looking for a producer outside our genre, to get some new input. When we first met up with Jan, we knew he was a perfect match to record and produce our new material.”

Formed in 2012, The Oklahoma Kid have consistently pushed boundaries with their breathtaking modern metal, bridging the gap between technical intricacy and energising rhythms. The band's 2014 debut EP Fortuneteller established their position within the German metal scene with their signature blend of genres.

In 2015 they revealed their sophomore EP Doppelganger, working with renowned producer Aljoscha Sieg (Eskimo Callboy, We Butter The Bread With Butter, Nasty) to deliver their signature bouncing grooves and futuristic synthesisers, complete with catchy hooks and singalongs. The band's unique video for 'Scharlatan', which was directed by Pavel Trebukhin (Alazka, Stick To Your Guns, Annisokay), also won the national PopFish Music Video Award.

2017 saw The Oklahoma Kid enter the studio to work on their debut album Solarray, a release that displayed the band's full sonic scope and capabilities - ranging from huge wall-of-sound arrangements to fragile melodies.

The Oklahoma Kid have electrified crowds with their passionate, relentless performance, touring with Stick To Your Guns, Carnifex, Evergreen Terrace and Hatebreed.

The quintet are no long an insider tip, they are a force to be reckoned with. Whether you experience them live at a festival or on record in your living room, The Oklahoma Kid will change your perception of what metal is capable of.
