Guitarist Sam McRobert comments: "We are extremely excited to announce our third studio album Nail Below Nail is coming out on July 8th via Unique Leader Records! We strongly believe this album to be our best work to date after three long years in the making and we used our down time to bring you twelve tracks of pure, sickening brutality."

Nail Below Nail is a bludgeoning slab of slamming death metal which takes a deep dive inside a sadistic sci-fi horror tale of incomprehensible violence and destruction. Lyrically themed around visions of gore, excess, and torture, as well as the extreme lengths the human mind will go to when faced with entities beyond its dimensional perception. The album's monolithic riffs wrap themselves around endless realms of mountainous groove and atmosphere in an impressive demonstration of skill and songwriting that never compromises on brutality.

Once again the band teamed up with mix/master titan Miguel Tereso of Demigod Recordings with drums recorded by Troy Kelly at The Armoury Recording Studio in Wellington, New Zealand. Guitars, bass and vocals were recorded by Alex Paul and Sam McRobert. The stunning artwork was created by Par Olofsson and photography by Ollie Hudson.

Hailing from Christchurch City, New Zealand, Organectomy have been an unstoppable force at the forefront of New Zealand's slam and death metal scenes since first hitting the stage more than a decade ago.

Formed in 2010 Organectomy’s brand of ‘Brutal Slamming Death Metal' incorporates many aspects of the death metal spectrum, from old school to technical, fusing it with modern slam into a twisted, decimating cacophony of pure brutality.

Following a few early demos and an EP, the band released their acclaimed debut album, Domain of the Wretched in 2017 and then signed to Unique Leader Records. In 2019 the band followed up with the release of their sophomore album Existential Disconnect and embarked on a tour of the U.S.A and Canada.

Entering the studio in 2021 to begin work on their third album, Nail Below Nail will see release this year via Unique Leader, and with an added line up change, Organectomy are ready to forge a new era for the band.

Having shared stages with Fleshgod Apocalypse, Cattle Decapitation, Archspire, Aborted, Vulvodynia and many more and with a full touring schedule ahead of them, Organectomy are poised to give you a taste of the carnage yet to come.

Art-pop duo FLOYA release video for brand new single 'The Hymn'

Rising from the ashes of ALAZKA and Time, The Valuator, brand new German duo FLOYA have shared a video for their second single, 'The Hymn', streaming now via Arising Empire.

Check out the video for 'The Hymn' here: https://youtu.be/OIgO9BwPOZI

Stream/purchase 'The Hymn' here: https://arisingempire.com/thehymn

After the hopeful and dance-inducing 'Wonders', FLOYA are now shaking things up with their second effort entitled 'The Hymn'. This time the duo are leaning more towards fast-paced rock, while still managing to maintain their unique art-pop influence. 'The Hymn' scoops you up without warning and takes you on an emotional rollercoaster through FLOYA's own dreamscape.

Vocalist Phil Bayer comments:

"'The Hymn' is about compromise and letting go, but also about making peace with those concepts. There are times when you realise you can’t have everything you want, so then you’ve got to decide what to pursue and what to let go of. Those kind of things can be fairly dramatic sometimes, but in the end these scenarios teach us about what’s most important to us."

FLOYA, consisting of Phil Bayer and Marv Wilder, blend modern EDM elements with poppy hooks on their previous single 'Wonders'. After carving a name for themselves as the founders and songwriters of their previous acts, Phil and Marv are on a journey of their own, exploring a vast array of genres and following one simple mantra: There are no limits. With this statement engraved on their minds, FLOYA strive to create something bigger than themselves, taking listeners on an unforgettable adventure.

FLOYA teamed up with Chris Kempe at Embark Audio (ALAZKA and Time, The Valuator) for full production duties and additional songwriting, with mastering handled by Robin Schmidt (The 1975, You Me At Six, Biffy Clyro, Don Broco).

Slamming Brutal Death titans Extermination Dismemberment return with merciless NEW single 'Agony Incarnate' alongside macabre movie-like video (Unique Leader)

Belarus-based Slamming Brutal Death Metal titans, Extermination Dismemberment, return with their heart-stopping new single / movie-esque video 'Agony Incarnate', streaming now via Unique Leader Records.

Watch the macabre movie to 'Agony Incarnate' here: https://youtu.be/WOPre0tu3J4
Stream, watch and visit merch store here: https://orcd.co/agonyincarnate

Forcing their way from the underground mire to the front of the modern Death Metal pack, Extermination Dismemberment continue with their evolution. Unmasking their latest offering, ‘Agony Incarnate’ sees the band exploring their own boundaries of extremity whilst defining a marker for unrestrained, monstrously-heavy devastation. Their new sound, ushered in by way of sinister movie introduction, which was filmed by one of the top Belarusian directors Alexander Strievich and directed by him and the band, displays breathless levels of ferocity. And it's mercilessly addictive.

On the new single/video, the band comment:

"Agony, prayers and hell. More than four minutes of crushing destruction. Five acts depicting the torment of the soul and pain of the flesh. 'Agony Incarnate' takes us to the brink of death and with every minute passing, deeper into the underworld.

"Surrounded by fire and the groans of anguished martyrs, who are no longer destined to find peace. We set ourselves the goal of creating a dark atmosphere of inevitable suffering, both during life and after death.

"This is Extermination Dismemberment's first song that is not in the Slamming style and without guttural vocals. The composition ends with a scene in the last remaining church, right in the midst of the apocalypse, where the desperate cries for salvation fall upon deaf ears of God who cannot and will not help them."

Formed in October 2009 by guitarist Arseniy Kovalchuk and the band's initial vocalist Valeriy Kozhemyako, Extermination Dismemberment gained popularity from their debut album Butcher Basement (2010) which was released by Ukrainian label Imbecil Entertainment Records. Their second album Serial Urbicide (2013) was dropped upon the world by Japanese label Amputated Vein Records to worldwide critical acclaim and is still regarded as one of the top albums of its genre. In May 2018 the band went on to release a crushing video/single 'Omnivore', which left people shocked with its absurd heaviness and to date has gathered over one million views on Youtube. In November 2021 Extermination Dismemberment signed to Unique Leader Records, releasing 'Protonemesis', a video/single which was an instant hit, racking up more than 367,000 views on Youtube in five months.

Now with the power of their new label home Unique Leader behind them, 2022 is shaping up to be a formidable year for Extermination Dismemberment. There's nothing left to stand in their way as the next full-length album slowly and ominously approaches on the horizon. Prepare yourselves if you can.

Metal trio Urne release video for 'A Tomb So Frail'

Serpent & Spirit album out now via Candlelight Records

EU festivals and UK dates with Gatecreeper announced

London metal trio Urne have unveiled a new video 'A Tomb So Frail', taken from their debut album Serpent & Spirit, out now via Candlelight Records.

Watch the live one-take video for 'A Tomb So Frail' here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaaFDAAXVB8

Bassist / vocalist Joe Nally commented: "It’s almost a year since we last released a video and we felt it was a good time to get something out there. With festival season just around the corner it’s a good opportunity to reach some new people before we head out.

"'A Tomb So Frail' is the ending track from our debut album
Serpent & Spirit. We wanted to make a video that reflects the song itself, it's a pretty relentless track and Angus (Neyra) and Gav had the idea to film the whole thing continuously to give it a one take intensity, which we feel they achieved.

"After festival season is over we will be finishing off writing our second album and we have some very exciting news to share soon, regarding that."

Formed by ex-Hang The Bastard bassist Joe Nally and guitarist Angus Neyra after their former band called it quits, the pair already had a reputation for big, heavy riffs. Getting drummer Richard Harris on board in 2018, they gilded their new outfit with debut EP The Mountain Of Gold, which immediately marked Urne out as a formidable new metallic force.

Debut album Serpent & Spirit. is heavier, wider and with an even higher ratio of killer riffs than the EP; it also comes with a weighty concept based around the central character’s struggle as he’s pulled between good and evil, darkness and light.

The new video comes ahead of Urne's European summer festival date, plus a UK dates with Gatecreeper.

Dates:

May 27th - Manorfest - UK
June 1st - Mystic Fest - Poland
June 12th - Into the Grave Festival - Netherlands
June 17th - Copenhell Festival - Denmark
July 2nd - London UK (Supporting Gatecreeper)
July 3rd - Southampton UK (Supporting Gatecreeper)
July 10th - Milton Keynes UK (Supporting Gatecreeper)
August 12th - Alcatraz Festival - Belgium
August 13th - Brutal Assault Festival - Czech Republic
August 17th - Summer Breeze Festival - Germany.

Angus Neyra - Guitar
Richard Harris - Drums

The Oklahoma Kid release video for new single 'Dye Black to Pink'

Tangerine Tragic album due 3rd June via Arising Empire

Modern metal quintet The Oklahoma Kid have released a video for their brand new single 'Dye Black to Pink', taken from their upcoming full-length release, Tangerine Tragic, due out 3rd June 2022 via Arising Empire.

Check out the music video for 'Dye Black to Pink' here: https://youtu.be/-TZhuQyPCK0

Stream/purchase 'Dye Black to Pink' here: https://theoklahomakid.lnk.to/dyeblacktopink

Known for their unique blend of genres, the avant-garde five-piece continue to push boundaries and break old conventions. 'Dye Black to Pink' follows the previous singles 'A Velvet Feel', 'Come Undone', 'Melt Into You', and 'Pale Tongue', disturbing trips with psychedelic visuals and heavy rhythms, deeply influenced by early millennial industrial music and Neue Deutsche Härte, with melodic heaviness bursting at the seams.

Pre-order Tangerine Tragic here: https://arisingempire.com/tangerinetragic

Following the success of debut album Solarray (2019) The Oklahoma Kid set their focus on writing new music with one simple goal in mind, to better themselves and create something that fans will truly crave, resulting in new album Tangerine Tragic. Built on the strengths of Solarra, Tangerine Tragic experiments with new ideas and concepts that are as gentle as a breeze and also strike hard as a wrecking ball. The album was recorded and produced by Jan Kerscher (Ghost City Recordings), and mixed and mastered by Lance Prenc (Alpha Wolf, Polaris, Dealer), giving the production its full blown punch.

Guitarist Andreas Reinhard comments:

“We are always trying to get different influences into our music, that’s why we were looking for a producer outside our genre, to get some new input. When we first met up with Jan, we knew he was a perfect match to record and produce our new material.”

Formed in 2012, The Oklahoma Kid have consistently pushed boundaries with their breathtaking modern metal, bridging the gap between technical intricacy and energising rhythms. The band's 2014 debut EP Fortuneteller established their position within the German metal scene with their signature blend of genres.

In 2015 they revealed their sophomore EP Doppelganger, working with renowned producer Aljoscha Sieg (Eskimo Callboy, We Butter The Bread With Butter, Nasty) to deliver their signature bouncing grooves and futuristic synthesisers, complete with catchy hooks and singalongs. The band's unique video for 'Scharlatan', which was directed by Pavel Trebukhin (Alazka, Stick To Your Guns, Annisokay), also won the national PopFish Music Video Award.

2017 saw The Oklahoma Kid enter the studio to work on their debut album Solarray, a release that displayed the band's full sonic scope and capabilities - ranging from huge wall-of-sound arrangements to fragile melodies.

The Oklahoma Kid have electrified crowds with their passionate, relentless performance, touring with Stick To Your Guns, Carnifex, Evergreen Terrace and Hatebreed.

The quintet are no long an insider tip, they are a force to be reckoned with. Whether you experience them live at a festival or on record in your living room, The Oklahoma Kid will change your perception of what metal is capable of.

German alt-rock duo Kill Strings release video for new single 'Let Me Dream'

'Let Me Dream' out now via MNRK Music Group

German alt-rock duo Kill Strings have released a video for their new single 'Let Me Dream', out now via MNRK. The band's unique sound is a melange of Muse and Depeche Mode with the rawness of Royal Blood, splicing together elements of riff-heavy rock, space-like electronic music and forward-thinking lyrics.

Check out the video for 'Let Me Dream' here: https://youtu.be/yvLUqD5edik

Stream/purchase 'Let Me Dream': https://lnk.to/kill-strings-let-me-dream

As a harbinger of their upcoming album LIMBO, Kill Strings' new single 'Let Me Dream' follows two successful EPs and front places in the 'Rock Rotation', Germany's most popular rock playlist on Spotify. Now, the Hamburg duo, comprised of guitarist/vocalist Lee and drummer David, follow the next step in their career.

The anthemic 'Let Me Dream' proves to be the perfect soundtrack for the here-and-now, infused with melancholy and the uncertainty of our times, but also with a longing for new impressions, life and experience. An epic groover, in whose stylistic DNA bears resemblance to Muse and Depeche Mode, 'Let Me Dream' oozes with wide melodic arcs, fulminant drums and emotional vocals.

The video for the single, conceived and directed by multi-talented Josepha Immler, impressively tells this story: an artist and a biology student, both trapped in their rooms at the time of the lockdown, longing for concerts and parties, being together and love. Over the course of the video, they break out of their rooms and find each other, in the perfect place to do so: at a Kill Strings concert.

Kill Strings' vocalist/guitarist Lee comments:

"'Let Me Dream' is born out of our experiences during the pandemic and symbolises the hope for better times. It's about closeness despite distance, as well as love in times of war. Even though times are challenging, we humans always find and create good in the world and strive for our utopian dreams."

In the realisation of their dreams, Lee and David have first-class partners in the form of the esteemed MNRK Music Group.

Kill Strings will appear at The Great Escape in Brighton next month.

Metal quartet Of Virtue sign to Arising Empire & share new single

'Sinner' video streaming now

Metalcore quartet Of Virtue have signed to Arising Empire Records and released new single 'Sinner' in celebration.

Watch the video to 'Sinner' here: https://youtu.be/0B6NLYcDcv8

Stream 'Sinner' here: https://arisingempire.com/sinner

Of Virtue combine an eclectic taste for the melodic with a catchy and ethereal foundation in heavy music, a penchant for punishing breakdowns, and immolating riffs. They define themselves as a multifaceted, diverse and engaging act that draws on influence from metal and alternative music of all genres to create something that any type of fan can fall in love with.

Progression, or more generally, change, is a constant in music; in order to adapt and survive, you must grow and develop - and no band knows that more than midwestern metal act Of Virtue.
What began as a humble, promising metalcore act born from the blistering chill and barren fields of mid-Michigan, erupted into an internationally recognised and critically acclaimed alternative powerhouse. From opening slots on regional metalcore tours to reaching #28 on Billboard’s Current Hard Music chart, performing in over 30 countries across three continents and accruing a staggering six million streams on Spotify alone, Of Virtue’s growth is nothing short of jaw-dropping.

'Sinner' was produced by Evan McKeever (VRSTY), mixed and mastered by Dan Braunstein (Spiritbox, Dayseeker, Volumes), and visualised by Dana Willax & Orie McGinness (Bad Omens, Wage War, Kingdom of Giants).

Of Virtue were formed in 2008 and catapulted themselves into the Michigan metalcore scene in 2009 with their debut EP To Breathe Again. Combining elements of melodic hardcore and metalcore into a mosh-friendly and energetic amalgam, the band almost instantaneously cemented themselves as a staple within their local scene.

In the months that would follow, the band would create and release their debut full-length record, Heartsounds (2011), followed by an extensive regional touring cycle. Heartsounds saw Of Virtue expand on their sound with lyrics speaking of positivity and determination, all of which was underscored by a blend of metalcore that was both vicious yet passionate and inspiring. By 2015, the band would release Salvation, a sprawling and ambitious example of meticulous melodic metalcore which would earn them nationwide attention as a promising, prodigally talented metal act. Shortly thereafter, Of Virtue released their third full length record, What Defines You in 2019.

What Defines You saw a marked incorporation of alternative rock and hard rock into their backbone of bold, robust metalcore with an overwhelmingly positive message. The result was a release that would launch them into the stratosphere of heavy music. Even in the setting of a global pandemic, Of Virtue continue to blossom worldwide, accruing new listeners and fans in countries tens of thousands of miles away and expanding their reach even in a time where live performances were all but impossible.

'Evergrey f*cking slay' - Prog

Worldwide chart-toppers EVERGREY, masters of prog-infused dark melodic metal, break new horizons with their thirteenth studio album and Napalm Records debut, A Heartless Portrait (The Orphean Testament), out 20th May, 2022.

Today, after unveiling the pounding album opener and first single 'Save Us', and powerful second single 'Midwinter Calls', EVERGREY conjure another overwhelming episode on their ongoing journey.

The third single, 'Blindfolded', hits with pounding drums and a flickering, synth-laden atmosphere. With its insanely grooving guitar solo topped by Tom S. Englund’s incredible vocals, the track marks the perfect gateway into captivating soundscapes. The upcoming EVERGREY album makes it apparent: Tom S. Englund keeps outdoing himself. In 'Blindfolded', his singular falsetto choices elevate the whole vocal performance to an outstanding level.

Leave what you know behind and get transported by EVERGREY’s enchanting new track. 'Blindfolded' is visually highlighted via a cinematic music video, closing the chapters of a three-video story and taking the listener to where it all started.

EVERGREY on 'Blindfolded':

“This is the third and last video of our trilogy. It features our acting debut that you shouldn't take too seriously! It's also really the first episode of this three-piece story. We hope you enjoy and share it and your thoughts about it!”

Celebrating over 25 years of metal mastery, EVERGREY, led by founder, singer and guitarist Tom S. Englund, are known for wandering the realms of progressive and heavy melodic metal and painting sonic renderings with their twelve studio records released as of today. A Heartless Portrait (The Orphean Testament), the follow-up to the unit’s highly successful 2021 full-length, Escape of the Phoenix (which landed at numerous chart positions worldwide), reveals a 10 track mélange of which every note, every riff and every word seeps pure poetry – creating a ceaseless intensity that mesmerizes from the very first second.

The new album was recorded at Top Floor Studios Gothenburg, engineered by Jakob Herrman and produced by Tom S. Englund and Jonas Ekdahl, with mixing and mastering by Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios (VolbeatDestructionEpica and many more), whereas the hauntingly beautiful album artwork was conjured by Giannis Nakos at Remedy Art Design. Nakos is known for creating artworks for acts like Oceans Of SlumberAmarantheThe Agonist and The Crown as well as merchandise for Morbid AngelSuffocation or Cryptopsy – just to name a few.

EVERGREY on the new album:

“Here it is! A new album! Yet again! This is what we love about music, it never ends! Our mission is to write music so here you are! 10 new songs! 10 new EVERGREY songs that we hope you will have by your side as your life continues to shift and grow. 10 songs that we wish will be part of the soundtrack when you're creating new memories and new possibilities in your life. 10 songs that we feel privileged to have you listen to. 10 songs that have risen through the ashes of two years where our creativity has had more time than ever to flourish.

10 songs we really hope you will enjoy as much as we did writing them. As usual we have given it our best and we can't wait to hear what you have to say! A new year, a new album, a new record label = new possibilities. All this can only be positive, right?

 Enjoy!

Tom, Jonas, Rikard, Johan & Henrik”

A Heartless Portrait (The Orphean Testament) tracklisting:

1. Save Us

2. Midwinter Calls

3. Ominous

4. Call Out the Dark

5. The Orphean Testament

6. Reawakening

7. The Great Unwashed

8. Heartless

9. Blindfolded

10.Wildfires

A Heartless Portrait (The Orphean Testament) impresses with flawless, meticulous production that deftly depicts both heartfelt honesty and scorching metallic intensity, while its instrumental force of furious, technically driven riffs, skyrocketing solos and dramatic synths merges with the expert, brooding vocal performance of Englund – one of the most distinctive vocalists in metal. He skilfully balances harsh and heavy tones with an inarguably soulful approach, all topped by melancholic, thought-provoking lyricism that digs deeper with every spin, leaving a long-lasting impact. Songs like 'Midwinter Calls', which also contains fan participation with atmospheric audience recordings from the band’s latest tour through Sweden, and 'The Great Unwashed', draw the listener in with grooving, glistering instrumentation, flowing between boisterous dynamics and a next level vocal performance, while emotive 'Wildfires' turns the volume down as a goosebump-worthy ballad that hurts and heals all at once. 'Call Out The Dark' begins atmospherically with accented keys, suddenly evolving into an intense opus of symphonic and power metal attributes in the blink of an eye, whereas the record’s longest track, 'The Orphean Testament', impresses by revealing its heaviest facet. A sensitive introduction lures the listener into 'Heartless', and offers one of the album’s most engaging verses, followed by a hauntingly beautiful chorus and variety in pace to create a magnificent listening experience.
