Welsh noir pop outfit The Nightmares are proud to reveal their new single and video 'From Above', and announce their signing with Venn Records (UK and Europe) and Equal Vision Records (USA and ROW).

The band comment: "On the surface, ‘From Above’ is a song about a human that falls in love with a vampire. And despite the inevitable pain, they want nothing more than to be bitten in a quest for eternal love. But dig a little deeper, and it’s a song about wanting to find a true connection in life… at any cost.

"This is a song about ignoring the opinion of others and following your heart."

Forming in 2018, The Nightmares are as inspired by shared musical passions - The Cure, Placebo, Interpol - as they are by the art of seances. Centred on the local music scene of Newport, South Wales, the quartet quickly embarked on their first UK tours in 2019, including supporting local legends Holding Absence. The Nightmares have also toured with Tiger Army, Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties, Bleak Soul, and supported Salem and Bad Nerves, among others.

Plans for future touring, along with the rest of the world, were derailed by the COVID pandemic. Instead, then, The Nightmares turned to writing music and experimenting with seances - and what unfolded during these long nights had a lasting effect on the band.

The noir pop quartet's recurring themes of death, love and mourning have already chimed with fans and critics alike, including early support from The i Paper, Clash, Kerrang! and more.

zebrahead release video for latest single 'No Tomorrow'

zebrahead have released a video for their latest single 'No Tomorrow', continuing to deliver their genre-bending, feel-good blend of rap-core and punk-pop. The track is the first glimpse into their new EP II, due for release on 3rd February 2023.

The video for 'No Tomorrow' features pro-skaters Eric Dressen and Brian “yodaaabomb” Upapongatch, check it out here: https://youtu.be/ztlC5wbvWVk

Stream/purchase 'No Tomorrow' here: https://listen.lt/ZebraheadNoTomorrow

Bassist Ben Osmundson comments on the video:

“Sonically this song really made us feel a need to have some skateboarding. Fast-paced and in your face. We thought it would make a perfect fit. For the outtakes maybe we will include some shots of me slamming at the bowl. This is where I go to have some fun, so figured it would be the perfect place to film the video!”

With a renewed fire, zebrahead have been playing shows across the globe and fitting studio sessions in between, as they prepare to roll out new music throughout 2023. From an epic, productive studio session came a series of EPs: III, II and I. 'No Tomorrow' will be followed by monthly song releases that culminate with the band's II EP in February 2023. II is the follow-up to zebrahead's III EP, which was released in 2021. Their I EP is expected to drop in late autumn 2023, with singles and videos serving as a glimpse in between.

Since their incarnation, zebrahead have sold over 2.5 million albums and currently have over one million monthly listeners on Spotify. They have survived label changes, earned a Grammy nomination, and toured across the globe.

zebrahead will appear at Slam Dunk Festival and When We Were Young Festival in 2023. Head to the band's website for full tour dates: https://zebrahead.com/tour-dates/

Progressive metallers Obsidious (ex-Obscura) share new track and video 'I Am'

Photo Credit: Axel Winkler/ Blackened Cult Photography

Modern progressive metal outfit Obsidious, featuring ex-members of Obscura, have released a brand new video for the track 'I Am'. The song is the latest taken from the band's debut album Iconic, which is released today via Season of Mist. The video was shot during their performance at the mighty Euroblast festival last month.

Watch the video to 'I Am' here: https://youtu.be/S6-ObqI7DcQ
Order Iconic here: https://shop.season-of-mist.com/list/obsidious-iconic // https://orcd.co/obsidious-iconic

Obsidious comment: "The concept for the lyrics of this song is a little more abstract. It is the personification of a feeling speaking to its host, presenting itself and convincing the host to embrace it and ultimately succumb to it. It is like the biblical story of temptation being represented by the devil, but in this case, without the willpower to resist.”

The new song is the seventh single to be released from Iconic, following on from 'Lake Of Afterlife', 'Devotion', 'Under Black Skies', 'Sense Of Lust', 'Iconic' and 'Bound By Fire'.

The Iconic cover artwork, which was created by Adrien Bousson, can be found below along with the track-list.

Wonderfully intricate and musically-accomplished, Iconic is technical but not officious. The group—featuring Linus Klausenitzer (bass), Rafael Trujillo (guitars), Sebastian Lanser (drums), and Javi Perera (vocals)—come from distinguished and lettered origins in Obscura, Alkaloid, Eternity’s End, and Juggernaut. Obsidious, however, are a different creature entirely.

Obsidious crystallised after Klausenitzer, Trujillo, and Lanser departed amicably from fellow German tech-metallers Obscura in 2020. Named after black volcanic glass, the group’s moniker exudes something dark, of fiery origin, in a state of final transformation. Metaphorically, the name Obsidious offers a nearly limitless platform for expression and advancement. However, it was only when the trio brought on newcomer Perera—whose growls and full-toned voice are first-rate—were the multi-national outfit officially codified. Interestingly enough, the newly-joined frontman couldn’t even meet his bandmates while the band wrote, recorded, and filmed videos for Iconic due to the pandemic. Yet, the technologically-apt foursome made it work.

“We consider ourselves the modern evolution of progressive and technical metal,” bassist Linus Klausenitzer says. “To name a few bands: Dream Theater, Devin Townsend, Meshuggah, Opeth, Between the Buried and Me, Protest the Hero, Periphery, and Haken. As such, our music asks for many different moods and vibes. Javi’s vocals reinforce that idea, adding meaning and drama to it. While we still work as session musicians, Obsidious is now our main priority.”

Throughout Iconic, Obsidious impress with their artistic inventiveness and creative expanse. The album breathes intensity but expands upon it with mellifluent dexterity. With Obsidious, there’s always a hook. The early release of and positive feedback from previous video singles illustrates these qualities well. Iconic builds upon a prestigious foundation, but its vision isn’t restricted to its tenets.

“This album does not have a concept per se in terms of lyrics or an underlying storyline,” vocalist Javi Perera comments. “The songs on this album touch on subjects of diverse nature, and there are even some songs that narrate personal experiences. But what I can consider as a common denominator in the album is the absence of constraints on a compositional or stylistic level, allowing us the freedom to shift between different musical genres as long as the song requires it. I always consider that we, as artists and musicians, are at the service of the music and not the other way around.”

Obisidious are ready to deploy their unique brand of hooky neoteric metal on Iconic. From Trujillo’s wickedly clever riffs and Lanser’s artful drumming to Klausenitzer’s superb counterpoint and Perera’s soaring vocals/venomous spits, songs like 'Under Black Skies,' 'Iconic,' 'Bound by Fire,' and 'Nowhere' brim with cool calculation and aggressive spontaneity. They storm normality not only musically and lyrically. The monolithic cover piece by French graphic artist Adrien Bousson (Rotting Christ, Khonsu) also transcends convention. Obsidious are poised for a breakthrough on Iconic. Prepare for metal’s modern metamorphosis!

VENUES release video for new single 'Cravings'

German post-hardcore outfit VENUES have released a video for their new single 'Cravings', out now via Arising Empire. The track follows recent single 'Reflections' and the band's critically acclaimed sophomore album Solace.

Check out the video for 'Cravings' here: https://youtu.be/T-OdQ2YfM8M

Stream/purchase 'Cravings' here: https://arisingempire.com/cravings

Vocalist Lela comments:

"‘Cravings' was written about breaking free from addiction. It doesn't matter whether it's about drugs, material things or people. To free yourself from what can only drive you into the abyss is not easy, as addiction often wears a radiant veil that shuts one's eyes to reality. Daring to take this step and saying goodbye is exhausting and very brave. Writing 'Cravings' gave me courage and I hope it does the same for others, or at least inspires them to be very honest with themselves."

VENUES will join Emil Bulls on The 25 To Life Birthday Bash Tour as special guests next month, alongside Set Your Sails and The Disaster Area. Find out more and purchase tickets here: https://www.eventim.de/artist/emil-bulls/

VENUES went into the studio with producer Christoph Wieczorek (Annisokay) to record their album Solace, who coated their massive sound with a metallic alloy of remarkable precision.

“We wanted to be more metal,” Robin comments. “There were some pop sensibilities of Aspire we wanted to replace with rather the opposite.”

Melody and punch-drunk heaviness, metal and alternative rock, zeitgeist and authenticity, barbed choruses and unleashed creativity: with their soaring sophomore release, VENUES fulfiled every single promise they gave on Solace.

“2020 showed all of us how much the band is helping us keep our sanity,” guitarist Robin muses. “Almost the whole band went through minor or medium crises since the release of our debut. Relationships went sour, things were ended and begun. In times like these, our second album was the light at the end of the tunnel. Something we all could look forward to. Our music held our heads above water.”

It was a big leap, going from Aspire to Solace, and a logical one, too. Ten songs, ten exorcisms of negative energy, ten lifesavers.

Dayseeker release video for new single 'Crying While You're Dancing'

Southern California's Dayseeker have released a video for their new single 'Crying While You're Dancing'. The track is taken from the band's upcoming album Dark Sun, due for release on 4th November 2022 via Spinefarm.

Check out the video for 'Crying While You're Dancing' here: https://youtu.be/hY9TVwgePxU

Pre-order Dark Sun here: https://dayseeker.lnk.to/DarkSun

'Crying While You're Dancing' drills down on the album's incredibly personal concept, as frontman Rory Rodriguez comments:

"'Crying While You're Dancing' is about those people you know who pretend to have the time of their lives, while it's clear to everyone around them that they're spiralling."

Rodriguez adds: "'Dark Sun is a collection of songs that deeply explored my personal life over the last two years. Most of it is written about my father's passing, about how it felt like the sun burned out the day he passed, and how the world is a little darker without him in it."

Dayseeker are a quiet killer. The band has steadily built a buzz over the past several years - and they have reached a tipping point. Dayseeker built themselves into a scene standout with 2019's Sleeptalk, which was hailed by Alternative Press as "a warm and welcome release to higher ground" and as "much needed fresh air into the post-hardcore scene." The album has gone on to accumulate over 150 million streams, and it positioned the band as a formidable force, one that is primed to take the next big leap. In 2021, the band dropped a deluxe version of Sleeptalk, featuring four reimagined versions of album tracks, which offered fans a fresh and unique take on songs they already love. It also demonstrated the depth and breadth of the band's creative vision, scope, and possibilities.

However, Dark Sun will be Dayseeker's moment and is set to catapult the band beyond the scene's stratosphere.

After a successful summer headliner run, Dayseeker will be back on the road this autumn supporting Bad Omens.

"We had been planning out what we thought the perfect single would consist of for a while. Combining elements from our old material, as well as giving the fans something they’ve never heard or experienced from us before, all while staying true to who we are as Vulvodynia. UK rock quartet InTechnicolour release video for new single 'Turn It Loose'

UK rock quartet InTechnicolour have released a dark yet quirky animated video for new single 'Turn It Loose', taken from new album Midnight Heavyweight, due for release on 4th November 2022 via Small Pond Records.

Check out the video for 'Turn It Loose' here: https://youtu.be/8oMd8br0J_E

Stream/purchase 'Turn It Loose ' here: listen.smallpondrec.com/turn-it-loose

Director / animator Amy Lucas comments on the video: The animation for 'Turn it Loose' focuses on each of InTechnicolour's fears. The meaning of the song explores how, over time, dark depressive feelings can become comfortable and complex second homes. I explored that by forming worlds around each of the band member's individual fears for the viewers to dive into. We all have our own 'worry worlds', and often they are sharp thoughts that dwell in the backs of our heads going round and round with no resolution. I found it interesting to put colour, substance and ground to these worries. Maybe visualising our troubles can help us see our anxieties for what they are, our own brilliant imaginations fuelling our own worry.

"On stage, the visuals are out of focus, confusing and constrictive. I took every opportunity to make viewers feel uncomfortable. Each world has an epic backdrop to match the magnitude of the fear. Flesh-eating plants, deep-sea horrors, savage wasp swarms and electric wormy graveyards scattered with discarded dolls heads all made the cut. It feels unique to the band, obviously without them writing this bop, and having these fears, the final video would never have come about. Thanks
Intech! Thanks for sharing your fears with me, I hope I haven't left anyone traumatised".

InTechnicolour will tour the UK with newly-launched hardcore band Skin Failure (ex-Black Peaks). Dates:

Nov-10 Leeds, Key Club
Nov-11 Nottingham, Chameleon
Nov-13 Bristol, Crofters
Nov-24 London, Camden Assembly
Nov-25 Milton Keynes, Craufurd Arms
Nov-26 Southampton, Suburbia
Nov-27 Brighton, Prince Albert

Check out the video for previous singles:

'Tokyo Dream': https://youtu.be/A3UVdu-b4HY
'The Wave': https://youtu.be/-0V4D7cxnno

Hailing from Brighton, InTechnicolour are a riffy, groovy, rock band with a knack for creating a colourful song or two. Formed in 2015 through a want to play loud music through slightly broken amps, the basis of the band was created.

InTechnicolour are an inventive four-piece comprised of technically gifted musicians, cutting loose and playing music that’s about as far removed from their day jobs as it’s possible to get – and they are doing it better than a good portion of their contemporaries. Landing somewhere between the slack desert-groove of Kyuss and Karma To Burn, the band combine deeply satisfying riffs with a dynamic vocal style, which calls to mind the sounds of Baroness, Gojira and Mastodon.

InTechnicolour have previously toured across the UK and Europe with the likes of Physics House Band, Black Peaks, Town Portal, Bitch Falcon and Haggard Cat, and are gearing up to hit the road this autumn with dates to be announced very soon.

Those Damn Crows announced as headliners for Primordial General Mayhem 2023

Primordial Radio is hugely excited to announce the details and first bands for the Primordial General Mayhem 2023 with modern rock’s unstoppable force Those Damn Crows confirmed as the main event headliners on Saturday 29th April 2023.

Starting in 2018 as a one-day event with just three bands, the Primordial General Mayhem has become the destination event for Primordial Members and rock & metal fans alike.

Combining the power of music and community, the event has previously hosted the likes of Skindred, Devin Townsend, Bob Vylan, Massive Wagons and many more over the past four years with Knotfest describing it as a "Grand Spectacle of Rock Fury".

Now with a new home, the Primordial General Mayhem will be taking place at the illustrious KK's Steel Mill in Wolverhampton on Saturday 29th April 2023, with an additional intimate 200 cap pre-party also planned for Friday 28th April 2023.

Modern Rock's unstoppable force Those Damn Crows have been confirmed as headliners for Saturday 29th April 2023.

In between performing on the main stage at Download Festival 2022, selling out headline shows at the likes of Cardiff Castle, and playing German TV channel WDR's prestigious Rockpalast Crossroads festival, Those Damn Crows recorded Inhale/Exhale, an album that elevates their signature hard-hitting rock to dizzying heights.

The Welsh quintet sadly had to pull out of headlining PGM 22 earlier this year due to vocalist Shane Greenhall injuring his back. This is very much unfinished business, and the Primordial team can't wait for the guys to finally take to the stage and deliver a humungous headline set.

Confirmed for the main stage on Saturday 29th April 2023 are hard rockers South Of Salem who return after an incredible PGM set in 2021. One of the hottest unsigned rock acts in the UK right now, Marisa & The Moths will also be appearing - their debut self-titled LP hit #66 in the Official Downloads Chart and has amassed hundreds of thousands of streams globally.

Performing on the Primordial Presents Stage on Saturday 29th April 2023 are nu-grunge outfit Raised By Wolves, who recently topped the Primordial Up-Vote Chart getting to No.1 with their single "Ringing". There are also six more bands still to be announced for the Saturday Main Event.

Appearing on the Friday night 200 cap pre-party will be headliners Scruffy Bear, who stepped in last minute at the PGM in 2022 for a momentous and memorable set, and they'll be joined on the night by three more bands to be announced.

Speaking about the Primordial General Mayhem 2023, Music Director Pete Bailey states: We looked at many different options for a new PGM home but couldn't be happier to be working with KK's Steel Mill. They have built a tremendous reputation in a very short space of time, with many of our members feeding back about how good the venue is.

"We also couldn't be happier to have Those Damn Crows booked to headline, we were naturally gutted when they had to pull out for 2022, but what a moment it will be when they finally take to the stage in 2023 alongside such an incredible bill that truly showcases the incredible quality of new bands we have in the UK with more still to come!
See you in April \ .. /"
