Produced by Will Putney (A Day To Remember, Knocked Loose, The Amity Affliction), who handled the band’s critically-adored 2019 Power Through Terror full-length, with Torture World, Great American Ghost directs old-school death metal wrath at hypocrisy, apathy, and self-loathing, delivered in a dark cloud of relentlessly bludgeoning riffs.

Vocalist Ethan Harrison comments on the 'Torture World' video: "This video is a vision that we have had for a while and we are so glad that we could bring it to life with our long-time friend, Chris Klump. The song isn't as literal as the video implies - the things that we go through as people can be harder than you could ever imagine and going through them alone can be truly torturous."

View the band’s previously released video for 'Kingmaker' here: https://youtu.be/edtNzXZtlM4

Great American Ghost’s first ever US headlining tour is currently underway with support from 156/Silence and Hazing Over, check social media for dates.

Since inception, Great American Ghost have unleashed a steady stream of furious music. The group Metal Injection calls, “always hateful, always pissed,” steadily built a devoted following with the bleak and punishing Everyone Leaves (2015), Hatred Stems From The Seed (2017), the Don’t Come Back EP (2016), and Power Through Terror (2019). Even as the worldwide shutdown and personal adversities big and small threatened to derail the band, perseverance ultimately prevailed, resulting in the four-song Torture World EP poised to take the band’s vicious bile in new directions.

“It comes at you pretty hard, and pretty fast… It’s the kind of song that your neighbors really ought to hear, and maybe even feel depending on your sound system…” - Metal Injection on “'Kingmaker'

“…a refining of melody, brutality, and intelligent throwdowns… This is just masterful stuff and hopefully the start of something special for the band.” - New Noise Magazine

“Death metal, hardcore, metalcore, black metal… it all merges into a cohesive work of impressive and sadistic force.” - Distorted Sound

VV (Ville Valo) releases new single 'The Foreverlost'

Finnish Love Metal pioneer, Ville Valo (VV) of HIM, has released his new single 'The Foreverlost'. The track is the third glimpse into his upcoming debut solo album Neon Noir, due for release on 13th January 2023 via Heartagram Records, distributed by UMG/Spinefarm.

Stream/purchase 'The Foreverlost' here: https://lnk.to/theforeverlost

Ville Valo comments: "'The Foreverlost' is yet another loud love song depicting the burlesque butoh between two world-weary souls. All my Carmina Buranas and could've should've would'ves rolled into a neat little Gordian knot of the gothic variety.”

Head to Kerrang.com to read their cover feature, in which Ville discusses the album making process in-depth.

ABOUT VV / Ville Valo:

In the annals of 21st century alternative rock history there are few artists who cast a longer, or more peculiar shadow than Finnish Love Metal pioneer Ville Valo. After all, his band HIM were easily among the most iconic and idiosyncratic groups of the millennium. Zealously revered, gleefully reviled but impossible to ignore, their music left an indelible mark on a worldwide legion of fans. The scarlet letters stood for His Infernal Majesty. Their founder stood for something delightedly out of step with the status quo.

"We only hoped to temporarily redirect hard rock's blood flow from the nether regions towards the heart", reminisces Ville Valo, the singer, songwriter and primus motor of HIM. Judging by the monolithic presence of the Heartagram in any account of music this side of the millennium, it’s apparent that he succeeded.

Inspired by everyone from Poe to Bukowski and tinged by a penchant for perfumed Sabbathian gloom, Valo’s creative lovechild would produce eight era-defining studio releases and over ten million record sales, not forgetting a Grammy nomination, countless magazine covers, critical acclaim, and the veneration of a generation. Thus, it came as no surprise that the news of a farewell tour in 2017 was greeted with shock and disbelief among devotees and endless speculation as to what or who was to take up the velvet mantle.

“As fun as the funeral rites for HIM were, it took me more than a few moons to lick my wounds in the shadow of the Heartagram and come up with an excuse to strum and hum again. Eventually I decided to put a leash on my beloved black dog and we started howling together instead of barking at each other. That's how the album Neon Noir was born".

The answer came earlier this year with the melodious exsanguination of first single ‘Loveletting’, followed by the elegiac goth-optimism of ‘Echolocate Your Love’, which Valo described as, "a teary mascara marathon between Robert Smith and Ozzy, with a dash of hope." Now, with the glow of Neon Noir fast approaching comes the driving, nocturnal radiance of ‘The Foreverlost’, an up-tempo paean to doomed romance and a confident affirmation of Valo’s peerless ability to imbue timeless songwriting and balladry, with a whiff of roses and brimstone.

Australian extreme metal squad To The Grave release monstrous new single 'Red Dot Sight'; reveal album details

Hard-line extreme metal squad To The Grave have announced their new album, Director’s Cuts, to be released via Unique Leader Records on 24th February, 2023.

Ahead of the album, the band are sharing their first single ‘Red Dot Sight’, a hard-hitting track about anti-vegan public figures and the media perception against vegan activists. You can check out the video here: https://youtu.be/_eVHPX18kPc

Pre-order Director’s Cuts here: https://orcd.co/directorscuts

The band comment on the new album: "This is the refinement of our combined musical tastes, fuelled by our sadness and anger at the state of the world. We made the music we wanted to make without really considering how it would fit into any little genre boxes, because we knew if we loved it completely then everyone else would too. These songs are hard and heavy without being technical just for the sake of it.”

Commenting on the new single the band add: "'Red Dot Sight' is about anti-vegan public figures and influencers dragging the names of activists for headlines and views. The way our media paints them as criminals and terrorists sways public perception against those wanting to do good to the point that it’s socially acceptable to treat them like sh*t."

One of Australia’s most uncompromising bands, To The Grave return with their heaviest album to date, both sonically and thematically. Since the release of their 2019 debut album Global Warning, the caustic five piece have garnered international success, with 2021’s follow-up Epilogue, a re-issue of Global Warning with bonus tracks, solidifying their position as “one of the country's heaviest exports.” (Revolver).

To The Grave have steadily built an audience in the underground, accumulating more than 11 million Spotify streams, racking up over 5.4 million YouTube views, all whilst decimating live audiences alongside Parkway Drive, Polaris, Cattle Decapitation, Thy Art Is Murder, Vulvodynia and Alpha Wolf.

Now, following a sold-out national headline tour in 2022 and revitalised by a new lineup, the band are more focused than ever, looking ahead to the release of their second album Director’s Cuts in February 2023.

The eleven tracks lyrically expose a societal and environmental hell on earth whilst pushing the boundaries of accessible extremity, full of barbed hooks, thick with atmosphere and drenched in groove. Razor-sharp guitars played with an exploratory approach - blending everything from whammy pedal squeaks and chiming cleans to death metal chainsaw tones - are entwined with live drums to give a level of dynamism that musically sets this band apart from the extreme metal pack, yet they maintain the weight of the heaviest bands today. Vocalist Dane Evans commands a multifaceted performance, bursting with vocal energy from throat-ripping dissonant screeches to low end gutturals.

At just over 44 minutes in length, Director’s Cuts is an album packed with ambition and conscience. To The Grave have never shied away from channeling the real horrors of animal cruelty and its impact into the violent, emotional intensity of their music. Songs such as ‘Red Dot Sight’, ‘Found Footage’ and ‘Cut Off The Head’ perfectly conjure images of a world gone astray.

Director’s Cuts was recorded by bassist Matt Clarke, with drums recorded live at The Brain Studios in Sydney and mixed and mastered by Lance Prenc at Prenc Audio (Void of Vision, Alpha Wolf, Polaris) in Melbourne with album photography by Animals Uncovered.

Irish sextet THUMPER release brand new single 'Summer Assault'

Irish noise-pop sextet THUMPER have released their single 'Summer Assault'. The track sees the band venture into new territory and marks their first new music since their debut album Delusions Of Grandeur, released earlier this year.

Check out 'Summer Assault' here: https://youtu.be/kHWpa-Sw93w

Stream/purchase 'Summer Assault' here: https://linktr.ee/hellothumper

‘Summer Assault’ is a vignette of self-sabotage, an anthem of small failure. It’s about a doomed relationship that carries on regardless - a narrator banging on the glass trying to warn the song’s inhabitants. Each melody and hook competes for space over an ever expanding wall of guitars, bass and THUMPER's signature double drums. In just over three minutes, ‘Summer Assault’ sees THUMPER boil their trademark noise wall into an earworm of a pop song.

'Summer Assault' comes off the back of THUMPER's extensive European, UK and Irish tour, including sell-out shows in Amsterdam, London, Paris and Dublin. The band have a handful of live dates remaining at Iceland Airwaves, Sŵn Festival and RTE 2FM’s Rising on the Road.

THUMPER's previous single '25' came thundering into the ESNS Radio Charts, with support BBC Radio 1's Future Artists with Jack Saunders and Future Alternative with Nels Hylton, as well as Kink, KEXP and more. They featured as the face of Spotify's ‘All New Punk’ playlist and gained editorial support from Amazon Music. Championed heavily by BBC Radio 1 DJ Gemma Bradley and many more, ‘Summer Assault’ is sure to be THUMPER's biggest single yet.

Groundbreaking Indonesian trio Voice Of Baceprot release new single 'PMS'

Groundbreaking Indonesian trio Voice Of Baceprot return with their triumphant new single 'PMS'.

Stream: https://li.sten.to/vob-pms

'PMS', short for perempuan merdeka seutuhnya ("completely independent women") is an anthem for the ages. The single celebrates women who are breaking stereotypes and boundaries in all forms.

The origin of 'PMS' came from conditions close to Voice Of Baceprot's background, when the band members still lived in their village in rural Indonesia.

A conservative community, there are few career options for women after school - by choosing a career in music, Voice Of Baceprot have been marked by some as an anomaly or rebel in their community. 'PMS' is then a solidarity call for all women who face the same problems but march on regardless, to keep doing what they love.

The new single cements the group's position as one of the most exciting musical voices from Southeast Asia, and follows their huge performance at Wacken Open Air 2022, among other European festivals this summer.

The all-female trio Voice Of Baceprot have made headlines globally with their music, a fresh take on metal, rap-rock, and funk metal. Formed in 2014 in school in rural Indonesia, the three schoolgirls - Marsya (vocals and guitar), Widi (bass), andSitti (drums) - aged 14, began a musical revolution.

Initially drawn to covers of System Of A Down, Rage Against The Machine, Metallica, and Slipknot among others, Voice Of Baceprot soon found their unique authentic voice. True to their name, given 'Baceprot' in Sundanese translates as 'loud'.

Voice Of Baceprot's debut video, 2018's 'School Revolution', their thrash-funk metal amalgam, has gathered nearly two million views. It is a searing track, raising awareness about the inequality of education, and helped fully stamp VOB's name on the global map. Since then, the group have gone from strength to strength, releasing follow up singles 'God, Allow Me (Please) to Play Music', and 2022's '[NOT] PUBLIC PROPERTY'.

Since their formation, Voice Of Baceprot's Marsya, Sitti, and Widi have been using their music to build their voices as activists and to raise awareness of the violations of women's rights globally. Their activism is only increasing and becoming more powerful as the trio age. This is reflected in the single '[NOT] PUBLIC PROPERTY', released in conjunction with the WoW Foundation and Indonesian crowdfunding platform Kitabisa to collect donations for victims of sexual violence and abuse.
