Vocalist Jamie Graham comments on the album: "Carcinogenesis has been a long time coming! There’s been a ton of changes since the release of [debut album] Obsidian in terms of both the band’s plans and how we’ve approached writing. Musically we’ve tried a few new things in terms of tempos and key."

"We’ve had Charlie Michael join on guitar who has brought a few new additions to the Viscera sound on this record. He’s a massive shredder so there’s some insane lead guitar between him and Adam.

"We’ve gone a little more over the top with use of melody and atmosphere. There was also a decision to bring it as heavy as we could on a couple of songs to balance that dynamic out. ‘Demon Queen’ is almost completely clean singing!"

On the album's concept, he continues: "Lyrically/thematically, this album continues on from Obsidian with Delilah’s soul reaping cover. This time the energy she has gathered feeds her tyrannical partner, who in turn uses the newly absorbed life force to corrupt all around him. Metaphorically it’s a statement of how humanity tends to feed of others only then to tear itself apart."

On the new single 'Rats with Wings' he concludes: "This one was the first song we wrote for the record. The title refers to a term used for disease-spreading birds - just like people using power to corrupt others. We wanted a rapid-fire song to introduce the album as it sets the pace for the rest. There’s a nice mix of speed, heaviness and melody."

Featuring former members of Heart of a CowardAbhorrent Decimation, Nervecell and Surfaces Viscera formed in 2019.

Inspired by PanteraMeshuggahAt The Gates, The Black Dahlia Murder and Killswitch EngageViscera combine these influences with modern tech death and deathcore flavours. Combined with a potent blend of watertight syncopation, Viscera undoubtedly a powerful emerging force to be reckoned with.

Already with touring miles under their belts, the band featured on the FACES OF DEATH TOUR with DecapitatedBeyond CreationIngested and Lorna Shore, across the UK and Europe in March 2020, which was cut short by COVID. The band returned post-pandemic with a UK headline tour, and then a full EU tour supporting Decapitated and Despised Icon.

The Colony conquer demons with new single and video 'Ex-Hail'

Glasgow alt-metal quintet The Colony have shared their new single 'Ex-Hail'. The release comes with the announcement of their fourth album Have Hope, due for release on April 7th accompanied by a headline show at Glasgow's Audio venue. The soaring, riff-heavy track reflects on the band's own experiences with struggles of the mind, and how one can fight through such issues and strive to take control of their own life. 'Ex-Hail' comes with a slick music video in which the band can be seen performing the song in one of their favourite Glaswegian venues.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/ee-oD7XlzXc

Stream the song here: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/thecolony/ex-hail

The Colony comment: "This song is about dealing with internal struggles and how we, as individuals, feel on a day-to-day basis, coping with our own minds. It is written from the point of view where the person has decided that they are going to take control of their mind and the negative thoughts and demons they carry with them, and then helping others achieve the same peace of mind. We hope that people will take away that no matter what you go through, you are not alone."

The Colony's upcoming fourth album Have Hope was produced by Steven Jones (Bleed from Within, From Sorrow to Serenity) and is shaping up to be the band's most accomplished work yet.

Since their formation, The Colony have worked tirelessly to forge their sound; a brand of metal that had unique identity, that possessed a powerful character and a musical sense of adventure. They honed their skills, developing their musicianship until they had the capability to bring to life all the music they could imagine and then, which can be heard on debut EP, Romper Stomper – a sharp, energy filled three-song attack.

Quickly building momentum The Colony toured Ireland and Eastern Europe on the back of the critical acclaim reaped by their Time of Wolves album and played several open-air festivals in Romania, including the Metalhead Meeting twice, once in 2015 with KreatorRotting Christ and Dragonforce. and again in 2017 with Children of BodomSoulflyKataklysm and more. The band then returned to the UK for a tour with their friends in Godstone.

With The Colony, a new peak is only ever a challenge to climb even higher, and in the summer of 2019 they announced their new full length album Smoke And Mirrors. For this set of songs, the band have taken everything that made their previous efforts so successful and seemingly effortlessly, just raised the bar in every department. Smoke And Mirrors saw the light of day in late September 2019, however the band didn’t get the chance to tour due to the pandemic.

Now back with new single, the band will be announcing big plans for 2023.

India's premier solo metal musician Demonstealer releases new single ft. members of Kataklysm, Ne Obliviscaris

Demonstealer, India's premier solo metal musician, has streamed his new single 'Monolith of Hate'. It is the first taste of his new album, The Propaganda Machine, out 31st March via Sweden's Black Lion Records.

Featuring members of Ne Obliviscaris, Kataklysm, and Veile, you can view the video for 'Monolith of Hate' here: https://youtu.be/mbnuxydKKQk

Pre-order The Propaganda Machine here: https://snd.click/propaganda

Veile's Anabelle Iratni comments: "There's a beautiful duality in this track, as often seen in the human condition. It was a very natural process writing the keyboard parts, they lend themselves well to the umbra throughout."

Demonstealer states: "Musically this is one of the fastest songs on the album and yet also the most melodic. Lyrically the song talks about the current state of the world and how hateful the world is. The political and social divide, the hate in particular. I live in India which, like most countries, is experiencing a wave of hate. It's always politicians and religious leaders riling up hate against minorities. We're being consumed by it and everyday we see horrific news and crimes. In India, ever since the right-wing Hindu nationalist party came into power, there has been a surge in crimes against minorities, there have been attacks on students, journalists and activists being jailed and so on. They have employed hundreds of people into their IT cell and their only job is to spread propaganda and hate online. Not even Bollywood is spared. It's a real sh*t show and this song is a reflection of the hate we are seeing in the world today."

Featuring a stellar line-up of metal musicians across the globe, The Propaganda Machine is another chapter in the story of one of heavy music’s most tenacious underground legends. The album is a brilliantly wicked 40-minute ride featuring the likes of Hannes Grossmann (Alkaloid, Triptykon, Blotted Science), Martino Garattoni (Ne Obliviscaris, Ancient Bards), and Ken Bedene (Aborted). Technical symphonic death metal at its finest – no holds-barred, full-throttle heaviness. Relentless in its brutality, triumphant in its melodies. Vocally the album is also hard-hitting, marking a lyrical turn to reality and escape from fantasy - an eviscerating take on the polarised world today, and a record that fully speaks truth to power.

Sahil Makhija, better known as Demonstealer, has long been one of the pillars of the heavy metal scene in India. From being at the vanguard of a fledgling metal scene to becoming one of its most visible and respected proponents today, Demonstealer is integral to the growth of the Indian metal community.

In 2000, Demonstealer formed Demonic Resurrection, one of India’s best known and biggest metal bands. Over the last two decades the band has become one of the most recognizable faces of Indian metal, nationally and internationally. Also in 2000 he established India’s first recording studio dedicated solely to metal - a home to all of the country's top metal bands.

Five years later he launched Demonstealer Records – India’s first metal record label. The roster included the best in India’s burgeoning metal scene, and licensed internationally renowned acts, including Behemoth and Dimmu BorgirDemonstealer also founded and ran Resurrection Festival, alongside Demonic Resurrection bassist Husain Bandukwala. For years it was India’s only dedicated extreme metal festival. Needless to say, Demonstealer’s impact on the national scene cannot be overstated.

Aside from the success of Demonic Resurrection (5 studio albums, Metal Hammer Golden God award, multiple tours and festivals across UK and Europe), Demonstealer’s solo career is notable. From his debut album And Chaos Will Reign (2008) to 2021’s The Holocene TerminationSahil has been blazing a thunderous solo trail.

UK metal quintet VEILED signs with Seek and Strike; drop single / video feat. She Must Burn

VEILED are one of the UK’s newest forces of sonic brutality, whose uncompromising and unrelenting sound quickly earned them a deal with US label Seek and Strike. Their first offering through the label comes via the blistering new single, 'Relinquished,' which is a further testament to the group’s promising future.

Featuring guest vocals from Kyle Lamb of She Must Burn, watch the 'Relinquished' video here: https://youtu.be/7LJ6Ae5gqtc

VEILED commented: "Our new track, ‘Relinquished,' is a story of a man’s descent into madness, being possessed by a renegade demon that he is trying to commune with. We always write visually with our music, so the video follows along with this concept to help build on the atmosphere we create. We feel it’s a great song to introduce us with as it’s just a taste of things to come. It sets the scene of what VEILED is all about, while not giving too much away, as this is just the beginning."

On signing to Seek and Strike they continue: "Signing to Seek and Strike is an amazing opportunity and we can’t wait to see what this brings us. Seek and Strike allows us the freedom to create what we want and they have only pushed us to be better. ‘Relinquished' is only a taste of what’s to come - our new EP delivers some huge riffs, lots of symphonies, as well as some heavier breakdowns, compared to what you’ve heard from us so far.

"This EP is definitely for fans of Chelsea Grin, Thy Art Is Murder and Lorna Shore. If you like our friends in She Must Burn, chances are you’ll enjoy it too. Overall though, we’d say that there’s something here for most fans of heavy music and thanks for your support."

News of their new EP will be announced soon.

Doom kings Candlemass showcase lyric video for 'Angel Battle'

Following the amazing reception of their new album, Sweet Evil Sun (Napalm Records), legendary classic doom icons Candlemass continue their onslaught of epic heaviness with the release of an exciting lyric video for their fourth single, 'Angel Battle'.

Watch the new lyric video to 'Angel Battle' here: https://youtu.be/v3Mv0m4yiZM
Purchase Sweet Evil Sun here: https://napalmrecords.com/candlemass

'Angel Battle' storms in with a captivating guitar riff, presenting an ominous motif that parallels the story of the battle between heaven and hell with amazing guitar solos, signifying the fight between angels and demons. A soft lull comes in as clean guitars and an organ play a small dirge before heavy guitar riffs trumpet once again for one last time.

Recorded at NOX studio in Stockholm, the Swedish force centred around Leif Edling continue their unmatched legacy with Sweet Evil Sun, following the inimitable The Door to Doom (2019) and proving once more that they reign as one of the heaviest metal bands on earth, bringing epic doom to the world of metal.

After working on this massive piece of art for eighteen months in total, with Sweet Evil SunCandlemass brings back all the grandness of their early years, exploring themes of ambition and strife, hope and failure. It comes as no surprise that, alongside the band, renowned producer Marcus Jidell captured their massive, smoky guitar tones, powerful drums and larger-than-life vocals, offering a truly unique, high quality sonic experience.

Recorded at NOX studio in Stockholm, Sweden, Sweet Evil Sun impressively showcases that, after almost forty years in the game, the creativity of these Swedish doom masters sees no bounds. Through the power of wall-shaking riffs, incredible vocal performances and the blood and spirit of classic heavy metal, Sweet Evil Sun shines as a masterpiece of impending legend that truly honours the epic doom metal cult of Candlemass.

The artwork for Sweet Evil Sun was illustrated by the skilled hand of Erik Rovanperä, the architect behind Candlemass’ visual style since Psalms for the Dead (2012).

Leif Edling on the new album: Sweet Evil Sun is about hope, striving, adoration and failure. It's about all the personal battles that you have, but also the never-ending decay of humanity.

"The record took over a year to make and there's not a bad track on it! We had a fantastic time recording it and are really looking forward to the release. It's doom, it's metal! It is the essence of Candlemass put into one album!”

Opening track 'Wizard Of The Vortex' instantly casts a spell with a riff so powerful, the listener is immediately ensnared. Title track 'Sweet Evil Sun' kicks in with warning guitar feedback before sludging a heavy-as-hell riff as Johan Langquist deftly warbles through melancholic, beckoning passages and a hooky chorus. His imposing vocals fit each riff and tone perfectly, emerging as an instrument in itself. Jennie-Ann Smith (Avatarium) lends her beautiful voice to the theatrical, grim 'When Death Sighs', creating a shimmering, intermingled chorus duet eventually backed by rising organs and a marching rhythm. The haunting atmosphere is highlighted by an amazing guitar solo that reads like a story as it bends and descends, marking the sign of death on the listener’s door.

Leading Chilean prog group Aisles announce new album Beyond Drama; stream new single 'Game Over'

One of South America's leading prog groups, Chile's Aisles, have announced their long-awaited new album Beyond Drama, to be released 5th April via Presagio Records.

In celebration of the news, the band have also streamed their stunning new single 'Game Over'.

Pre-order Beyond Drama here: https://www.aislesproject.com/product/beyond-drama-cd-pre-order/

Stream 'Game Over' here: https://music.aislesproject.com/gameover2023

The new album marks a turning point in Aisles' story. It is their final work in the current line-up, due to the departure of Felipe Candia (drummer), Rodrigo Sepúlveda (guitarist) and Israel Gil (vocalist). Beyond Drama however is not the end, just the beginning of a new chapter.

'Game Over' is the first glimpse of the LP. The intricate melodies and sonic openness are the hallmarks of Aisles – earnest melody and awe-inspiring technicality. These dual facets of Aisles' personality are turned up to 11 on Beyond Drama, their most dazzling and tortured record yet.

'Game Over' was influenced by the weight of Animals As Leaders and by fusion and metal sounds, with western, retro-futuristic touches and the aesthetics of eighties video games. “It is part of the alienation of the pandemic, with hyperconnected people but with an intense disconnection from the natural world and submerged in video games 16 hours a day in a parallel reality,” explains Juan Pablo Gaete, the group's keyboardist.

The track was recorded at Estudio del Sur, produced by Angelo Marini and Germán Vergara, mixed by Pepe Lastarria (Kuervos del Sur, Mawiza) and mastered by American engineer Randy Merrill (Muse, Paul McCartney, Beck, Liam Gallagher). Furthermore, it is the fifth single from the band's new studio album, after the release of 'Fast', 'Disobedience', 'Megalomania' and 'Thanks to Kafka'.

'Game Over' takes on a new meaning with the restructuring of the group - marked by a more powerful and direct sound, uniting many of the songs on the new album.

The band worked on Beyond Drama between January 2019 and October 2021. The album reflects the painful moments that they went through during those years, from the pandemic and political turmoil in Chile, to deaths, splits, and a long internal crisis that almost ended the band. Beyond Drama is a photograph of a particularly difficult time for Aisles, but their love for the beautiful songs within kept them going.

In their time as a band Aisles have toured the Americas, Europe, and performed with prog legends Marillion, Focus, and Riverside

In 2005, Aisles released their debut album, entitled The Yearning, recognized for its elegant and delicate melodic work, especially on epic songs such as 'The Wharf that Holds His Vessel' and 'Gray'. In 2009, their second album, In Sudden Walks, inspired by existential literature and by theater, was nominated for Best Foreign Record at the Prog Awards in Italy, and the group also participated in the 11th version of the Progressif Crescendo Rock Festival in France. Their third record, 4:45 AM (2013), which looked into the loneliness of the human being, received rave reviews and was ranked among the best albums of that year in numerous publications specialised in progressive rock.

Their most-recent studio album, Hawaii (2016), a conceptual double album that narrates the life of humanity in space after the destruction of the Earth, was called a “masterpiece” and globally acclaimed by such august titles as Prog, IO Pages, and Chile’s premiere rock magazine, Rockaxis. The success of the album allowed Aisles to tour in Europe, the United States and Mexico.

In 2018, as a way of closing the cycle of Hawaii, they released the EP Live from Estudio del Sur, complemented with four videos recorded live that are found on YouTube. After the departure of their original vocalist, Sebastián Vergara, at the end of that year, Aisles introduced in September 2020 their new singer, Israel Gil, with whom they restarted their constant artistic evolution by releasing 'Smile of Tears', a new version of the song from the album In Sudden Walks. The band will release their fifth album on 5th April, 2023.

Progressive metallers Ne Obliviscaris unveil new single from upcoming album, Exul

Progressive metal outfit Ne Obliviscaris have released their new single 'Graal', taken from their long-awaited new full-length, Exul, released 24th March 2023 via Season of Mist

Watch the video to 'Graal' here: https://youtu.be/WAnq3cAhqDA

Pre-orders for Exul are now available here.

Pre-save the album on streaming services here.

Exploring the result of oppression and mistreatment, Ne Obliviscaris' new song is about the inner journey and struggle to understand our individual worth. In lieu of a comment, violinist/clean vocalist Tim Charles offers this thought-provoking poem inspired by the song 'Graal' and its intensely charged video:

"Lost, he lies…
His failing body beaten down by the totality of existence,
The strength to rise, To persevere, To overcome,
Gone.

His inner world torments him with the weight of every moment passed by, but not yet forgotten.

And yet
He is found
He is lifted

And as the essence of his line is fed forth
He breathes
He moves
He rises"

Drum tracking for Exul, the fourth long-player from Australian extreme progressive metallers Ne Obliviscaris, started in March 2020. There is an ominous tone to that date: March 2020. The pandemic demarcation line. That month, Daniel Presland laid down his drums in Nashville, Tennessee, with American producer Mark Lewis. As flight cancellations increased and borders shuttered, Presland made it home literally hours before Australia closed theirs. Lewis, guitarist Benjamin Baret and bassist Martino Garattoni weren’t as lucky. They were due to land in Australia in the days that followed to continue tracking, but were forced to remain overeseas indefinitely. With recording studios shuttered throughout Melbourne, a slow, tedious, life-altering two-year grind to complete Exul ensued for Ne Obliviscaris

What should have been the continued upward swing after 2017’s critically acclaimed Urn turned into the most fraught moment of Ne Obliviscaris’s career. Clean vocalist and violinist Tim Charles says the period “came close to breaking us completely.” It was a time filled with death, relationships breaking down, despair and financial loss. PreslandNe Obliviscaris’s drummer since 2005, amicably parted ways in early 2022, throwing yet another wrench into the band’s plans.

Seven additional studios and three more countries later, Exul was finally mixed and mastered in July 2022.

The album personifies Ne Obliviscaris’s distinctive, boundary-pushing ethos. The band’s trademark blend of emotion and beauty is as towering as ever, if not even more compelling, particularly how Charles' violin lines carefully weave their way around Baret and fellow guitarist Matt Klavins’ riffing. The duality of Charles' clean vocals and Xenoyr’s growls remains the narrative anchor, elevating songs that emanate sophistication and are a masterclass in composition.

“Our approach is always the same,” says Charles, “which is essentially to just write and see what comes out. Exul definitely had its challenges during the songwriting process. Part of the beauty of how our music comes together is that we are quite different individuals bringing an array of ideas together. From there, we work out how to combine them into something that is seamless and beautiful to us. We were determined to make this our best and most complete album yet, which definitely resulted in it taking longer. But we are so proud of this album and it’s exciting to finally share it with the world.”

The album’s centerpiece is the two-part 'Misericorde I – As the Flesh Fails' and 'Misericorde – Anatomy of Quiescence.' (A Ne Obliviscaris album is not complete without a multi-part epic!) According to Charles, 'Part II' began by taking a song they thought was finished ('Pt I') and asking, “What if after that…?” The band then wrote a section that took the piece in a new direction and what was a seven minute song, became an almost seventeen-minute two-part epic.

“The bulk of 'Part I' was written more so by Benji and Martino,” notes Charles. “You can hear the very guitar-driven approach present throughout that track. 'Part II', by contrast, was written more so by myself in collaboration with others and the emphasis changes more towards expansive solos and slow-developing sections that build towards the epic finale. These two tracks are a great example of how it’s the combination of our different strengths as songwriters spread across an album that results in the sound that is Ne Obliviscaris.”

The Exul album title came to Xen when he was summing up the album’s feeling musically and lyrically. Coincidentally, it matched the experience of most people during the pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. “I think everyone at some point has felt at odds with the world around them, felt alone, cast out, or misunderstood,” says Xen. Exul felt right to use in a broader sense and as a lone word, for we each have our own history and a story of exile.

“Overall, there’s a darker core to this album, perhaps more ominous than previous releases,” he continues. “However abstract the lyrics are, they involve some form of unwanted departure — all journeys into torment, passion, longing and even despair. They touch on the process of physical and psychological destruction that comes from that sense or reality of being exiled, whether forced from one’s land, ostracised from a community, shunned by a religion, or even simply being treated differently for being who they are.”

Touring will factor heavily into Ne Obliviscaris' 2023 plans. The band will embark on headlining tours worldwide that will hit new territories. As luck would have it, the return to live show activity will coincide with the release of Exul and the band’s 20th anniversary. As one of Australia’s leading extreme metal exports, there is a distinct sense of gratitude from Charles and his bandmates. They’re looking forward to sharing it with fans when they resume touring.

“Simply getting the opportunity to perform music that we’ve written on stages around the world to people that genuinely love and connect with it,” finishes Charles when talking about Ne Obliviscaris' 20-year journey. “There is something incredibly special about the energy that exists between an artist and audience at a concert and it’s an honor to get the opportunity to spend 2023 connecting with people in that way once more.”

Dancing in the Face of Danger tracklisting and EP art revealed below.

A beautifully curious blend of pop-sensibility, delicacy, experimentation and heaviness. British piano-led, guitar-less trio Exploring Birdsong are paving their own musical path with their new record Dancing in the Face of Danger.

Their acclaimed 2019 debut EP The Thing With Feathers - a concept release centred on the Seamus Heaney poem ‘Bye Child’ and the story of Kevin Halfpenny, one of the most bizarre cases of child cruelty ever recorded - caught the eyes of key players in the UK press (Prog magazine, Kerrang! Magazine, Classic Rock Magazine) and achieved two Progressive Music Awards nominations in the same year.

Dancing in the Face of Danger, recorded and mixed at Northstone Studios, Bridgend, builds on the musical foundations of The Thing With Feathers. The five-track EP has an evolutionary growth; synthesizers and a live string section add texture and gravity to the piano-led core, and whilst the record isn’t conventionally conceptual, lyrically, the band describe each track as ‘having its own tale to tell’.

Rarely are new groups as exciting, talented or unique as Exploring Birdsong. Straddling pop, progressive rock and uncategorisable genre-blending beauty, the band are unplaceable for the most part, but bring to mind elements of Kate BushSleep Token and Agent Fresco.

Rarely too do you hear voices as captivating as frontwoman Lynsey Ward’s. Powerful, controlled, and spine-chillingly tender, Lynsey’s vocals help mark Exploring Birdsong as a prospect to watch, from the release of their acclaimed debut The Thing With Feathers (2019, Long Branch Records) to 2023's EP Dancing in the Face of Danger.

The young group most recently made their European debut at Euroblast festival (Cologne, DE) - their first live performance since their five city inaugural headline tour across the UK in September 2021, including London, Manchester and Birmingham, and following the successful support tours with the likes of Sleep Token and Thank You Scientist

Mysterious theatrical metalcore act Plagues release new sermon 'Pledge'

UK theatrical metalcore act Plagues have released their latest "Sermon", in the form of a dark and emotional ballad titled 'Pledge'. The mysterious masked group, lead by protagonist Osorio, open a new chapter with this release, in which they will showcase a more melodic and mellower sound.

Osorio comments: "'Pledge' is a poignant and powerful ballad about the resilience of the human spirit and the importance of holding on to one's dreams in the face of adversity. The lyrics, which chronicle a journey beset by challenges including depression and doubt, convey the narrator's steadfast commitment to their goals despite the obstacles they encounter. The song's introspective and introverted opening, with its subdued instrumental backing and softly sung top line, effectively captures the sense of weariness and fatigue that the narrator speaks of in the lyrics. As the song progresses, however, the music grows in intensity and the narrator's vocals become more assertive, culminating in a triumphant and uplifting declaration that they will overcome any obstacle and be "the Light". The soaring melody and driving beat of the song's latter half effectively convey the message of unwavering devotion, making 'Pledge' a powerful and inspiring anthem of hope and perseverance. It serves as a reminder that even when the trials of life seem insurmountable, belief in oneself and unwavering commitment to one's goals can lead to overcoming any challenge."

Osorio has been live-streaming on TikTok regularly in recent times. During these streams, the character can be seen sitting on a throne in full costume, surrounded by candles, as he writes the names of his viewers, or "chosen ones", in a large book while ominous music plays. These streams, along with his other content, have attracted the attention of many, and earned him hundreds of thousands of followers on the platform.
A large number of users have reacted negatively to his presence on TikTok, calling him "Satanic" or "The Devil". Fake accounts impersonating Osorio also started appearing on TikTok and other platforms, privately messaging his followers and attempting to swindle money out of them.
A Facebook post in which a religious mother set out to warn other parents against Osorio recently went viral, gaining over 58K shares. This has brought even more attention to Osorio and Plagues' social channels, but has also grown the list of scam accounts. The band have made public a list of fake accounts they have come across, and continue to update it.

Plagues are an anonymous, masked, theatrical metal band established in 2020, based in the United Kingdom. The background of the band, due to their anonymity, is shrouded in mystery. It is unknown how many disciples are involved with Plagues at present. All music released by them has the unique label of "Sermons". Focusing on mood and atmosphere, each track is promoted as a sermon to keep in line with the narrative and theatrical nature of Plagues. The promotion of the songs as sermons is to bolster the idea of a cult-like portrayal and depiction of Plagues.

With a heavy social media presence, Plagues have grown their fanbase into a unique experience which has become known as the "We Are The Cleansing Community" or "Sanctuarii" - the name appointed to the ever-expanding group who join the "Plagues Experience" as "Scholars of Light". The Plagues fan community can be found on Discord (7.2K members) and Facebook (5.1K members). The band is also active on TikTok, where they currently have over 500K followers, and continue pushing the mysterious, ambiguous lore of "The Light".

Releasing their first track 'Sentinel' on June 26th 2020, the band have since harboured a rapidly increasing fan base which continues to grow on all major platforms. They are now set to release their new single, ‘Pledge’ on 23rd January 2023 which will showcase a more mellow and melodic side to Plagues, and begin their journey towards the release of their debut album set to release in 2023.
