Atreyu have announced their new EP The Hope Of A Spark, due for release on 14th April via Spinefarm. The band have also released a video for their new single 'Watch Me Burn'.

The video, directed by While She Sleeps bassist Aaran McKenzie, features English actor Leigh Gill (Joker, Game of Thrones, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them).

'Watch Me Burn' is the EP’s phoenix rising from life’s trial-by-fire; a call to arms to let renewed hope emerge from smouldering embers and ash. “To, me it’s a song about being cleansed by fire,” says bassist Marc 'Porter' McKnight. “Whatever it is that’s bringing you down and holding you back, burn it down. Use it, learn from it, move on, and grow. That thing does not deserve you and you don’t deserve it.”

“It’s very relatable to all of us individually, but it’s also incredibly pertinent to the journey of this band,” adds frontman Brandon Saller, who leads the track’s anthemic, hooky chorus with a defiant cry of: "Even when flames grow higher/I’ll be fighting till I’m dead."

The four-track EP embodies everything that Atreyu have come to be, to mean, and to represent. Marking the beginning of the next chapter in the band’s story, with assorted pieces of an expansive puzzle still taking shape, form and focus.

Produced by long-time collaborator John Feldmann, the new music explores reflection and rumination on the pressures, pleasures, and pains of modern life, with each track representing a snapshot of deeply personal lived and shared experiences.

“The overarching concept is essentially about the seasons of life,” Saller explains. “Everyone goes through the same things, the ups, and downs of life. The emphasis really is the importance of at least respecting those, and finding the positives and the lessons from even your lowest moments.”

Atreyu's previous single and opening track 'Drowning' was written as a collective effort from each band member, who poured their own experiences. Be it familial health problems that guitarist Dan Jacobs was shouldering, Saller’s first encounters with feelings of anxiety, or McKnight’s long-running fight with depression. The second track, 'God Devil', laments a loss of identity, self and faith, a desperate cry for help from a higher power, when our greatest power is one we need to find within. Following track, 'Capital F', was inspired by Saller’s observations of the human plight he saw in his local community.

“We draw strength from each other and give each other the space and support to be the best, most creative people we can be,” Jacobs explains. “And together, right now, that makes us the best band we’ve ever been.”

Atreyu will embark on their The Hope Of A Spark US headline tour in April and May, including a one-off date supporting Kayzo on in Los Angeles. Find out more and purchase tickets here: https://www.atreyuofficial.com

Atreyu ushered in a new movement in heavy music. Their music seamlessly intertwines with formative experiences for a diverse legion of dedicated listeners, many of whom started their own bands. They've broken into the Top 10 in the Billboard 200 more than once; two of their albums, The Curse and Lead Sails Paper Anchor, are certified gold with two million albums sold worldwide and an encompassing 600 million streams. Their most recent album, Baptize, has clocked 65 million streams alongside a Top 10 at rock radio hit with 'Warrior' featuring Travis Barker.

Where once the band was heralded as the early innovators of the nascent metalcore scene, their place in heavy music’s diverse and boundary-breaking scene has never felt more relevant, with inspirations of pop-punk, hardcore, thrash, ‘80s rock and more melding into a unique and varied sound that has never felt more relevant than in today’s increasingly genreless world.

With a 20-year career and eight acclaimed albums in the rear-view mirror, Atreyu are focused only on the present and the future in 2023, with a mission to continue shaping and defining the rock and metal scene, just as they have always done since their emergence from Huntington Beach in Southern California.

Frontman Brandon Saller, guitarists Dan Jacobs and Travis Miguel, bassist Porter McKnight and drummer Kyle Rosa are some of the most respected names and potent forces in heavy music, and their live show is one of the most heralded on the touring circuit.

GLASS CASKET: Between the Buried and Me members return after 17-year hiatus with new self-titled EP

Glass Casket returns with its first release in 17 years: a brand new, self-titled EP, out 9th June on Silent Pendulum Records.

Stream the EP's first single, 'Let Them Go,' here: Spotify / Youtube

Pre-order the album from Silent Pendulum Records, here: https://silentpendulumrecords.com
and via Bandcamp here https://silentpendulumrecords.bandcamp.com/album/glass-casket

From Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Glass Casket features guitarist Dustie Waring and drummer Blake Richardson, both members of Between the Buried and Me.

Back in action now under the Glass Casket banner officially for the first time since 2006, Waring and Richardson are teamed with fellow original members Adam Cody and Sid Menon, along with newest member Wes Hauch (Alluvial, ex-The Faceless).

The quintet have offered up a thrilling taste of things to come, in the form of the upcoming new EP's first single, 'Let Them Go'. An anthemic slab of death metal groove, replete with mesmerising flourishes, 'Let Them Go' bursts with energy and demands to be played on repeat. It is a sound that will melt the ears of fans of bands such as Whitechapel, Decapitated, Cryptopsy, and of course, BTBAM.

Active in the early '00s, Glass Casket faded from view after the release of its Desperate Man's Diary album in 2006, with Waring and Richardson committing full-time to Between the Buried and Me. Waring explains the hiatus: "We never really went anywhere. Everyone just kind of had their own lives and plans. Most of the guys were in college at the time and I just wanted to tour and play as much as possible, so Blake and I ended up in BTBAM. When Desperate Man’s Diary was recorded, we’d already released Alaska with BTBAM and had a pretty nonstop touring schedule so there were only a few shows played during that period."

In 2014, Waring and Richardson connected with guitarist Hauch and made moves toward reviving Glass Casket. Waring states: "Back in 2014, Wes Hauch came and stayed with me for about a month and we put together some material with Blake and demo’d out a few things. I guess it just wasn’t the right time, so we just sat on it for a while and stored riffs and parts away for when things lined up. Fast forward to about a year ago... Blake started working on some stuff and emailed us ideas. Everything kind of took shape from there and I started demoing guitars just to see where we were at, how the songs made us feel. Everyone was pretty stoked on the material, so Blake tracked his drums at home, I went in and tracked with [producer] Jamie King, Adam came in and did his vocals with Jamie, and Wes tracked his solos at home. Very fast, very easy process for us at this point, and it came out better than expected. It was time."

Vocalist Adam Cody muses on how the material has evolved since the old days: "The lyrics on this release are the completion of a circle for me. I’ve waited a long time to release another album with Glass Casket. Our first two albums were full of despair and heartache. The lyrics on this release are full of drive and determination. They focus on dealing with mental illness and overcoming obstacles one day at a time. It also deals with letting go of past tragedies. The ongoing fight we all deal with on a daily basis. No one is above it."

Stand by for more updates about Glass Casket and the upcoming new self-titled EP. The EP is yet another highlight for Silent Pendulum Records, the Brooklyn-based label whose recent hot streak includes releases by Dr. Acula, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, and Heavy Heavy Low Low.

Pop Evil release title track video for new album on release day and launch deluxe digital box set

US hard rock group Pop Evil have today released their new album Skeletons, along with a lyric video for the album's title track via MNRK Heavy. The band have also launched 601 deluxe digital box sets through VAULT, with a three-tier option including the full album, setlists, lyric sheets, behind-the-scenes content, VIP packages, and more.

“The decisions we make in our lifetime have an impact on the people around us,” Pop Evil said about the title track. “We have a choice to be kind or to be selfish on our journey. If you only think of yourself, you can end up alone.  We owe it to each other to be kind. We are all human.”

The 11-tracks feature the band's already released singles: 'Eye of the Storm' landing at the #5 Most Played Song in 2022 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Chart, and most recent single 'Paranoid (Crash & Burn)' (currently Top 10 at US Rock Radio) and 'Dead Reckoning (ft. Fit For A King)'. The album also includes guest performers such as Blake Allison from Devour the Day providing guest vocals on 'Wrong Direction,' adding some metal, electronic, and hip-hop into Pop Evil’s mix.

Discussing the album, frontman Leigh Kakaty said, “This is about us as a band stripping everything down to the bones. It’s more up-tempo, it’s got bigger riffs, and we’re trying to capture the energy of our live show.

“But it’s also a positive message, I know it’s a morbid visual, but behind every skeleton, there’s a story and something worth talking about. Overall, it’s about looking at something in a positive way. And I’m excited for everyone to hear that.”

Prior to the official release of Skeletons, the band’s new music was already going over well with fans. Notes Kakaty: “It’s great seeing people respond at our shows— I think they see what we sing about with something like ‘Eye of the Storm’ is very relatable. We all have hardships and mood swings; this is our way to show that you’re not alone. A lot of Pop Evil, it’s about inspiring positivity and giving back.”

Pop Evil worked with producer WZRD BLD (Disturbed, Papa Roach, Motionless in White), a friend and collaborator on a few previous albums that generated # hits. “With ‘Versatile,’ we had a bunch of producers, but for this album, we just wanted to work with one person and get back to our roots,” says Kakaty. “There’s an energy he and I have, and he’s been great at helping us build these songs and work around some collective themes.”

In discussing The VAULT digital box set, Pop Evil said, “We joined up with THE VAULT to be able to offer our fans a unique and exclusive experience. Inside our Vault, fans will find exclusive behind-the-scenes videos, photos, new music, merch, and more. We’re also offering VIP packages for the Skeletons tour. Our fans are so awesome that the ‘Super Fan’ tier, complete with a private acoustic performance, sold out instantly. We’re looking forward to continuing to offer our fans exclusive access and opportunities through The Vault!”

Pop Evil return to the UK/EU to headline the following dates with Call Me Amour and Zillion in support.

Pop Evil have massive anthems and built a new rock’n’roll institution on a foundation of showmanship, raw relatability, and hard rock hooks, both forward-thinking and timeless from frontman, Leigh Kakaty, lead guitarist Nick Fuelling, rhythm guitarist Dave Grahs, bassist Joey "Chicago" Walser and drummer Hayley Cramer. No matter the headline-grabbing declarations from legendary icons, lamenting the changing of the guard, the slow-burning success of Pop Evil demonstrates the hunger for hard-hitting honest music persisting worldwide.

Their 2011 album, War of Angels debuted at #8 on Billboard Top Rock Albums with three singles landing on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Top 10 including 'Last Man Standing', 'Monster You Made' and 'Boss’s Daughter.' The momentum continued with their 2013 album Onyx, landing them on the Top 40 of the Billboard 200 for the first time, plus it was #9 on the Billboard Independent Albums in America and #25 on the Billboard 200. The album included three #1 Billboard Mainstream Rock singles with 'Trenches' 'Deal with the Devil' and 'Torn to Pieces.' In 2015, the band released their album, UP, which would make its way to #1 on Billboard Independent Albums, with four Top 5 Billboard Singles such as 'Ways to Get High,' 'Take It All,' and 'If Only for Now'. The hit single, 'Footsteps' is still one of the biggest songs to date and returned Pop Evil to Billboard’s #1 spot for four weeks. Their 2018 self-titled album landed three singles on Billboard Mainstream Rock, 'Waking Lions' at #1 with 'Be Legendary' peaking at #2, and 'A Crime to Remember' peaking at #7. Pop Evil just celebrated their 7th career #1 single in late 2021 with 'Survivor' on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Chart marking a historic milestone. 'Survivor' joins the previous Top 10 single 'Work,' and #1 single 'Breathe Again,' from their album VERSATILE, out now via MNRK Heavy. Over the course of their career, the band has achieved four gold singles with 'Torn to Pieces,' and 'Trenches' from Onyx, 'Footsteps' from UP and, '100 in a 55' from their debut studio album, Lipstick on the Mirror.

Synth-metal quintet Voyager launch pre-sales for Special Edition Eurovision 7'' vinyl

Australia's Eurovision Song Contest representatives Voyager enter promised land with their new progressive synth-metal anthem ‘Promise’ that they'll bring to the world stage in May.

The band have today launched a limited edition 7-inch vinyl featuring 'Promise', and the song that started it all, 'Dreamer' - the perfect collector’s item for any Voyager or Eurovision fan.

Pre-orders are now live here

The 7-inch is limited to exclusive black and pink pressings, 300 copies of each.

Numbers 1-50 of each colour variation will be signed by the band. The black signed copies will be exclusively available via the Season of Mist shop. Meanwhile, the pink signed copies will only be available during the band's upcoming London performance, which will take place on 20th April at Boston Music Room.

Voyager guitarist Scott Kay comments, "7” vinyl you say? Both of our televised Eurovision singles in the one place? Here it is! We’re really stoked with these and they’re the perfect collector’s item for any Voyager or Eurovision fan! These are extremely limited, so don’t miss out on your chance to own one!"

Purchase tickets for the London show here.

The fearless, riff-laden, genre-bending band's entry, 'Promise' can be heard here, and you can watch the video here.

The opening line of Voyager’s 2023 Eurovision song 'Promise' is somewhat prophetic. As vocalist Danny Estrin belts out the lyric, “Have you ever done anything like this before?” audiences across the globe will realise we haven’t. For the first time ever, a band will represent the country – and not just any band – a band with soaring melodies, masterful riffs, keytar solos, powerhouse rhythms, and enough charisma to take on the world.

Shattering expectations, their resilience and determination has finally paid off. Voyager's is a story of passion, perseverance, and patience. The band has been throwing their hat in the ring for the Eurovision Song Contest since Australia announced its participation back in 2015. Eight years later, they have prospered, overcome, and are now victorious. Voyager are a band who take everything in their stride, over the years garnering a strong fanbase near and far, continuing to vie for their Eurovision dream. At last year’s Eurovision Australia Decides, they took out second place in a nail-biting finish, leading the public vote with their song 'Dreamer'.

Now, Voyager are about to set sail to Merseyside with their song 'Promise'; an epic, progressive pop-metal track that transports the listener on an emotive story of adventure and redemption. Its stunning music video was captured in the region of Australia's mid-west Kalbarri that boasts the pink ethereal Hutt Lagoon, and Kalbarri National Park, where there are epic gorges and rock formations including Nature’s Window.

Blending New Romantic, ‘80s infused vocals with technical, melodic framework, groovy basslines, bombastic drums, and what is fast becoming the band’s signature instrument, the keytar, it’s sure to lift the roof off Pier Head, Liverpool. They have toured the world many times over, with an influx of fans on their latest European tour won over by their electric live performances.

Voyager will soon embark on their eighth album cycle, but before they can begin their next chapter, they must first take on the epic battle they have long been fighting for.

Ukraine’s Kalush Orchestra won the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Italy, with their song 'Stefania'. This year, the United Kingdom will host the competition on Ukraine’s behalf with the theme United by Music. This is the ninth time the United Kingdom will host Eurovision and the fifth time it’s hosted for other countries due to financial or capacity issues.

Voyager are:

Danny Estrin (Vocals, Keytar)
A keytar wielding, songwriting powerhouse who is a lawyer by day and a rockstar by night. Not only is Danny an award-winning lawyer, but his multilingual abilities are an asset to Voyager’s live shows all around the world, allowing the band to connect on a deeper level with their international audience, mesmerised by his ‘80s vocal timbre.

Simone Dow (Guitars)
A firecracker of a guitarist whose chronic pain condition only drives her further to succeed. An advocate of migraine awareness, the 7-string guitarist shreds and brings an energy to the stage unmatched by anyone else in the scene.

Scott Kay (Guitars)
Scott’s technical proficiency and energy perfectly compliment his sister in shred, syncopating their efforts on stage and providing a twin attack on guitars. Scott’s philosophical approach to music shines through in his performance, executing a deep and meaningful energy to every live show.

Alex Canion (Bass)
The face of bass, and a killer vocalist to boot. Alex is a force of nature and connects with all his peers on stage in a way that brings a dynamic that is hard to rival in any band. Providing epic moments in the songs alongside a rhythmic foundation, Alex’s personality brings an eccentric and expressive outpour to Voyager’s shows.

Ash Doodkorte (Drums)
The most bombastic drummer you’ll ever see. Leading the charge with impact and momentum, Ash’s drumming is indefatigable. Not only is he a master of his craft, but he also specialises in another craft topic, beer.

Existentialist share new single 'The Zealot's Demise'

UK-based extreme metal juggernauts, Existentialist, return with 'The Zealot's Demise', the second single / video from their upcoming album, The Heretic, out 28th April via Seek and Strike. This beast of a track showcases the band’s dynamic song structures backed with captivating melodies under the blackened deathcore banner.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/ldhEifPyFJA

Stream the single and pre-save the album here: https://linktr.ee/existentialist

Existentialist comment: “Technically, 'The Zealot's Demise,' is one of our most complex. There are some weird off-beat patterns at times between the kick and hand work, guitars and orchestration. Combined with tempo and time signature changes, it made the track a real challenge, but was an enjoyable writing experience. It's collectively one of our favorite tracks to play live because it smacks hard and has some savage breakdowns.

“We have scheduled a record release show in our hometown of Colchester at Three Wise Monkeys performing the new album in its entirety. This will be followed by our co-headline UK tour with
Draconian Reign. We are hugely excited for this as it's been on the cards since we met them and had an absolute blast at Bloodstock. Both of us are releasing our album/EPs this spring, so this will be an amazing opportunity for you all to see us performing our new material on the road for the first time. We have some incredible support bands on each of the dates too, some old friends of ours and some new, so if you want to see what peak UK blackened deathcore looks like, don't miss out. It will be dark, it will be heavy and it will be epic."

Watch the video to previous single 'Embers Upon Calvary' featuring Jason Evans of Ingested here: https://youtu.be/JoToVl7zMlM

Existentialist have also announced a co-headline tour with label-mates Draconian Reign across the UK from 4th - 7th May. Dates:

May 04: London New Cross Inn
May 05: Nottingham Percy Picklebackers
May 06: Rotherham The Bridge Inn
May 07: Norwich B2, Brickmakers

Essex-based Existentialist are a five-piece blackened death metal band who are wholly cementing themselves as serious players in the scene. Their debut album Prophet of Ignorance, released in 2020, demonstrates the band's technicality, musicianship and above all, heaviness. The combination of the dark vocals, aggressive guitars, intense drumming and sinister orchestral sections creates a beautifully morbid blend of noise. The energy the quintet bring to their performances makes this band one not to miss.

Formed in 2015 by Jonny (guitar) and Olly (drums), they were later joined in 2018 by Phill (bass) and Sam (lead guitar). The line-up was completed in 2019 with the addition of vocalist Patty, allowing the release of the debut album Prophet of Ignorance in December 2020. A wide range of influences have helped the band to develop a complex sound, drawing from a variety of genres.

Existentialist are:

Patryk Kolasa- Vocals
Jonny Flack- Guitars
Samuel Berriman- Guitars
Phill Morley- Bass
Olly Winn- Drums

DIETH: Death-thrash band of metal icons David Ellefson, Guilherme Miranda and Michał Łysejko announce album & stream single

Death-thrash force DIETH - featuring the iconic line-up of Grammy Award winning bassist David Ellefson (ex-Megadeth), Swedish Grammy nominated guitarist/vocalist Guilherme Miranda (ex-Entombed A.D.) and drummer Michał Łysejko (ex-Decapitated) - announce their highly anticipated debut full-length To Hell And Back, out 2nd June 2023 via Napalm Records.

The trio have also unveiled their new single and title track, watch the video here: https://youtu.be/3T0vl8Jh6pI

Pre-order To Hell And Back here: https://lnk.to/DIETH-ToHellAndBack/napalmrecords

'To Hell And Back' delivers a punishing death metal attack - with commanding vocals, diverse percussion work, deeply grooving bass, technical riffs and a soaring solo. The impressive video shows the members pushing back against dark forces around them, amid fiery performance footage.

Frontman Guilherme Miranda comments on the single: "'To Hell And Back' is the song that best describes our individual and collective journeys as professional musicians. For an album to connect with the listener, it has to have deep meaning, and this wraps up this whole moment for us. We've been to hell - and we're back!"

Produced by DIETH with mixing and mastering by Tomasz Zed Zalewski at Zed Studios in Chechło, Poland, debut album To Hell And Back represents new beginnings; musically, lyrically and for the band members themselves. Weaving a sinister thread of unrelenting tech-steeped death metal, rapid thrash bangers and even boasting the first ever lead vocal performance by David Ellefson on a track, the members of DIETH have pushed beyond the stereotypes of their former genres to create an unexpected yet charismatic and dynamic new sonic footprint.

DIETH set the metalsphere ablaze when they dropped their debut single 'In The Hall of the Hanging Serpents', in mid-2022. Met with acclaim from both fans and media alike, the surprise track marked the exciting resurgence of these three renowned musicians, coming together as a new musical force after years of silence.

Opening with an entrancing acoustic introduction, first track 'To Hell And Back' quickly slams in with a punishing death metal attack. Tracks like 'Dead Inside' and 'Don’t Get Mad … Get Even!' showcase the thrash-infused side of DIETH, while death metal anthems such as 'Wicked Disdain' and 'The Mark of Cain' lean diabolical with hair-raising solos and breakneck paced rhythms backed by crushing walls of aggression. Standout 'Free Us All' flirts with the record’s pace by blending winding passages and aggression with throwback bass-driven interludes with psychedelic production, followed by 'Heavy Is The Crown' - a slow and low grinder featuring stoner metal groove, a swaying chorus and a blues-infused solo. Pensive, powerful ballad 'Walk With Me Forever' showcases David Ellefson’s lead vocal performance debut, singing about the intense loss of a loved one and their memory providing the strength to carry on.

Ending with intensely beautiful 'Severance', To Hell And Back proves that DIETH isn’t just another side project or “supergroup”, but rather the collective reincarnation of three renowned heavy metal forces who, by harnessing their own pain and conflict, have delivered an exciting next chapter no metal fan will want to miss!

Bassist/vocalist David Ellefson says about the new album:
"This album has been a terrific collaboration, building upon our past as we created a new sound together... we're looking forward to unleashing the fury!"

To Hell And Back will be available in the following formats:

We live in a fantasy, but not one of our own choosing. It is a dark and frigid world, animated by power, thrills, and the undying spirit of those who have nothing but each other left in the struggle to get by. This is the world of Poison Ruïn’s Härvest; the only way out is through.

Evoking a rich tapestry of ice-caked forests, peasant revolts, and silent knights, Poison Ruïn stab at the pulsing heart of what it means to live under the permanent midnight of contemporary life. Härvest gazes at the world with a sense of grave seriousness, its stare softened only by the alluring seduction of a dream world’s open-ended possibility. These songs move with a type of uncanny confidence, assembling an array of references to past styles and sensibilities that collapse in on one another, congealing into a truly unique sonic landscape.

Poison Ruïn have constructed a fantasy world of a better future. They do not flinch in the face of darkness or peddle in empty utopian gestures, but rather harness the energies of revenge and comradery to stoke the desire for a better world made material.

Its title track interplays between softly transitory instrumentals and sonic barrages, juxtaposing piano passages against a drawling, sitting-on-the-edge-of-the-world vocal line. Frantic instrumentals race forward with bold highs, shifting effortlessly from urgent funeral marches to subtly power pop inflected choruses. 'Härvest' is a metaphor for workers’ struggle - a bitter calls to arms.

With Härvest, Poison Ruïn align their sonic palette to their godless, medieval-inflected aesthetic symbolism, creating a record which strikes with an assured sense of blackened harmony.

“I’ve always found fantasy tropes to be incredibly evocative,” vocalist/guitarist Mac Kennedy notes, “that said, even though they are a set of symbols that seem to speak to most people of our generation, they are often either apolitical or co-opted for incredibly backwards politics.” With Härvest’s lyrics and imagery, Kennedy reworks fantasy imagery as a series of totems for the downtrodden, stripping it of its escapist tendencies and retooling it as a rich metaphor for the collective struggle over our shared reality: “Instead of knights in shining armor and dragons, it’s a peasant revolt,” he explains, “I’m all for protest songs, but with this band I’ve found that sometimes your message can reach a greater audience if you imbue it with a certain interactive, almost magical realist element.”

These are not superficial or self-aggrandising political statements. Rather, Poison Ruïn stares into the abyss of present-day life with a sober and empathetic outlook, portraying our cracked reality as a complex and difficult to parse miasma of competing desires.

Philadelphia’s Poison Ruïn first emerged in April of 2020 with their eponymous EP, which was followed shortly by a second eponymous EP the following February, both self-released. While they share a certain affinity for rough-around-the-edges, lo-fidelity stones with their compatriots Devil Master and Sheer Mag, Poison Ruïn want things bleaker. The up-tempo guitar heroics of their first two EPs (which were collectively released as a self-titled LP in February of 2021) have been dragged through the trenches, emerging as a heavy morass of breathless gloom. With Härvest, Poison Ruïn have constructed a richly chilling fable out of modern living. Their tale is as lurid as it is seductive, as much a promising fantasy as it is a dreary portrait of reality itself.

Poison Ruïn’s Relapse debut Härvest was mastered by Arthur Rizk. It sees its release on 14th April alongside the reissue of their eponymous 2021 LP which has established the band as one of punk and the underground’s newest beloved treasures. Poison Ruïn will tour extensively this year. They’ve confirmed several U.S. dates including SXSW, NYC and a hometown PHL release show. In April they head to EU / UK for a full run including a performance at Roadburn.

Irish thrash metal legends Gama Bomb release The Pogues cover ft. The Pogues' Spider Stacy

Irish thrash metal legends Gama Bomb have released their glorious, raucous cover of The Pogues' classic 'If I Should Fall From Grace With God', featuring The Pogues' own Spider Stacy on guest vocals.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/orPwgfhIlqo

Stream the single here: https://lnk.to/GraceWithGod

Gama Bomb's vocalist Philly Byrne comments: "The Pogues were my musical awakening. When I was a wee boy, I shared a bedroom with four of my brothers. I'd sit on the floor between the beds, staring at the sleeves for If I Should Fall From Grace With God and Rum, Sodomy And The Lash while my brother played them on vinyl.

"We don't really 'do' covers, but we always discussed 'If I Should Fall'... as one to keep in the back pocket. When we finally made a demo, I took a punt and sent it to
Spider, literally just slid into his DMs on Instagram. I said 'Hey, we're this metal band from Ireland, we love The Pogues, we hate fascists, we did this - do you wanna get involved?' To his eternal credit, he listened to it right away and replied 'Absofuckinlutely!'. It's been a huge privilege to work and hang out with him. The lesson here is, don't be afraid to DM your heroes - just be nice."

Spider Stacy comments: "So there I was, just scrolling the insta, as you do, when I see this DM ‘what’s this’ I ask myself, ‘why, it’s Gama Bomb from Newry, a city famed in song and story as the birthplace of the great Pat Jennings, with a thrash metal version of ‘If I Should Fall From Grace With God’. Do they want me to appear on it. They do? Praise Jesus! Maybe I’ll finally make it on to the pages of Kerrang! And just look at me now - made it, Ma. Top of the world!’ And that’s a true story, I swear down."

Shot on location in Abney Park Cemetery, London, the video and cover is a homage to The Pogues' London Irish roots. A gift to Gama Bomb's fans in time for St. Patrick's Day, the cover is the fastest song Spider has ever recorded, in true thrash fashion.

Formed in the Northern Irish border town of Newry in 2002, Gama Bomb are inspired by metal bands of the 80s and horror movies in making their own music. Cutting their teeth on the Belfast punk scene which sprung out of the Peace Process, they've gone on to record seven albums and tour the world, from Russia and Japan, the US and Brazil.

21 years later, Joe McGuigan (bass) and Philly Byrne (vocals), John Roche and Domo Dixon (guitars) are still together, working on their eighth album due for release later in 2023.

With over 250,000 monthly Spotify listeners, millions of plays and fans from Japan to Argentina, the smalltown band keep the flag flying for socially-conscious, geek-themed speed metal.
