The single marks a new beginning for El Moono, following their highly-regarded 2022 Temple Corrupted EP (released via Lockjaw Records). Previous tours alongside Black Peaks, Haggard Cat, Fangclub, and Press to MECO marked El Moono as a band to watch, well before the release of the EP which garnered notable praise from Metal Hammer, Kerrang! and Guitar World. With influences of rock, hardcore, metal and grunge, the band's off-kilter and oftentimes mind-bending riffs, emotive songs and expressive lyricism combine to create a sound that’s difficult to pigeonhole.

Welsh post-hardcore legends Casey have revealed the details of their third album, the exceptional How to Disappear, to be released 12th January via Hassle Records.

The quintet have also released their huge new single, the title track, 'How to Disappear'.

The news follows a joyous return for the quintet in 2023, including seven huge shows in the UK and Germany, and the limited release of their 7'' Atone/Great Grief (Hassle Records). Casey will also shortly be supporting Funeral For A Friend with Dashboard Confessional at London's Roundhouse, 15th October.

Casey, at its core, was grounded in the notion that music is a labour of love. Without expectation of success, without desire to attain stardom, just a shared yearning to create music - and when this no longer rang true Casey stayed true to themselves, and stepped away.

In late 2018, when Casey announced they were bringing the band to a close, it felt like a premature demise. Their first two LPs - 2016 Love Is Not Enough and 2018’s Where I Go When I Am Sleeping – had firmly established the Welsh five-piece as one of the most exciting bands in Britain’s alternative scene.

Now, years later, the band have returned - bigger and better than ever before. Casey don't just replicate the feelings that inspire them - they embody them.

The visual features close-up footage of the band playing while drenched in rain, spliced with shots of a mystery woman in white — who may or may not be inspired by a trippy dream guitarist-vocalist Justin Sherrell had about his grandmother.” 

Further elaborates Sherrell, "'The Way Out' came to be after a dream I had of my grandmother who had passed on almost ten years prior. She visited me on a beach and shared some personal messages but without the use of words. I had the distinct feeling she was telling me that everything was going to be ok. The date of the dream also happened to be on the anniversary of her husband's passing, a date before I was born and one that I was previously unaware of."

Recorded at Gojira’s Silver Cord Studios, mixed by Justin Mantooth at Westend Studios, and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege Mastering, Desiderium is a true crusade through a black hole of sounds and heaviness. Weaving their way seamlessly through a variety of tempos and timbres, the band gives some well-trodden genres new roads to travel. Every song is an amalgamation of what makes rock kinetic, bridging a gap between acts like Helmet, Karp, Handsome, and Quicksand with the sonic journeys of an Isis or Jesu. It’s their thirst for exploration that makes Somnuri who they are: they’re an ascendant band, not constrained by any label or descriptor.

US-based instrumental prog-metal project Constructing Infinity have shared a playthrough video for their new single 'Inner Weather', the first in a series of single drops to come over the next few months.

Alex Quaglieri, the man behind the project, comments: "'Inner Weather' was my creative workshop for years. It was learning by doing. It was not rushed, but I didn't sit on it for the sake of perfectionism. The track naturally took shape and came together at exactly the right time."

Constructing Infinity is the brainchild of Tampa, Florida-based solo multi-instrumentalist, Alex Quaglieri. Steeped in 16 years of guitar playing, the musical journey weaves through emotional chord progressions and aggressive textures; metal for a rainy day. Formed while Alex was in college as an evolution from previous band efforts, it grew into a more production-oriented solo venture. The guitar is just one of many tools used to tell these instrumental stories. The aim is for these songs to resonate with people beyond fellow musicians.

Alex's best ideas come to him while on the road, inspired by nature and travel. Influenced by acts like The Contortionist, Misery Signals, Volumes and Hammock, the instrumental compositions seek to connect and resonate on a personal level. As a series of singles begins to drop, starting with 'Inner Weather', leading to a live event, the philosophy permeates: in the journey, find the reward.

VEXED formed in 2019, consisting of vocalist Megan Targett, guitarist Jay Bacon, drummer Willem Mason-Geraghty and bassist Al Harper. The band quickly made a name for themselves across the UK metal scene with their hard-hitting sound and dynamic live performances.

Interlaker, the brand new duo that is David Jakes, formerly of Lonely The Brave and Jack Wrench, formerly of Arcane Roots, have revealed their beautiful new single 'The Hunger'.

Jakes was the commanding voice behind the Lonely The Brave sound. A master of melody, his lyrical talents enthralled audiences across Europe from supporting Neil Young in Belgium, to arenas with Biffy Clyro, to the main stage at Reading and Leeds festival.

Jakes has always been uncomfortable with being the centre of attention; when playing live he would stand at the back of the stage, side on, barely saying a word to the audience between songs. A total juxtaposition to the anthemic tunes he wrote - songs that felt like they could move mountains.

As Lonely The Brave grew in reputation and audience, so did Jakes' discomfort with attention and adoration. He left the band in March 2018. 

Fast forward five years and Jakes is back with Interlaker, a new musical project, with a new musical partner, Jack Wrench of Arcane Roots. Wrench, a skilled drummer, but also a multi-instrumentalist, became the perfect partner for Jakes. 

Jakes says: “Jack and I got chatting about doing some music over Instagram in the spring of 2022. I'd seen Jack, a couple to times, playing with Arcane Roots, so I knew what an amazing drummer he was. It was when he started to send over fully instrumental pieces that he'd done - drums, guitar, bass and all - that I realised we could be onto a really good thing. I think the first demo we put down - we did all the demoing together over the airwaves on Logic Pro - was a track called 'Ghostride'. So we thought we were off to a good start. It certainly wouldn't be for everyone - putting together music without being in the same room together (me in Cambridge and Jack in Brighton) but it worked out really well for the two of us. Around a year later we had 12 tracks ready to go and began the process of beginning to make a record...”

Available on 15th December will be Interlaker's debut release, their 12'' single complete with the band's first four tracks. A must-have for early die-hard fans of this very new, very special band.
