Frontman Steven Battelle comments:

"I wrote this song on a train traveling alone between Newcastle and Glasgow on a day off from tour in November 2023. It's primarily about the internal chaos I was feeling, and the adaptation it takes to walk the tightrope of the intense adulation and camaraderie of touring, with the juxtaposition of the complete solace and peace I was experiencing on the journey. I can’t wait to play this on our UK tour."

UK tour dates (support from As Sirens Fall):

Mar 07: St Albans The Horn
Mar 08: London The Lower Third
Mar 09: Brighton Patterns
Mar 10: Bournemouth Bear Cave
Mar 12: Exeter Phoenix
Mar 13: Plymouth The Junction
Mar 14: Cardiff The Globe

LostAlone surprised fans with their return in 2022, eight years since they originally split, swiftly followed by shows with My Chemical Romance and a sold-out hometown headline show. The trio concluded 2022 with a full UK headline tour, following the release of their long-awaited album The Warring Twenties.

The Warring Twenties was LostAlone's first full-length since 2014's Shapes of Screams. The album was written and produced by frontman Steven Battelle, with a variety of friends called upon to mix the songs: Greg Wells (The Greatest Showman, Deftones, Twenty One Pilots), Rou Reynolds (Enter Shikari), Adam Noble (Biffy Clyro, Placebo, Liam Gallagher) and Rich Collins.

Outside of LostAlone, Battelle has become a prolific songwriter for other artists, co-writing seven of the songs on McFly's new album Power To Play (#2 in Official Albums Chart Top 40). Following the successful collaboration, McFly invited LostAlone to tour with them last year.

2023 also saw the trio release three standalone singles, 'The Final Call For Forever', 'Waiting For The Magic To Show Up' and 'I'm A Fire That You Can't Put Out'.

Hunter Oliveri releases new single 'Stranger'

Hunter Oliveri, the 18-year-old talent recently tipped by Ones to Watch and COMPLEX, has released a video for his new single ‘Stranger', out now via Spinefarm

Check out the visually trippy video for the powerfully self-aware track here: https://youtu.be/l4G2QbuWruA

Stream 'Stranger' here: https://HunterOliveri.lnk.to/Stranger

"'Stranger' is basically about being pulled from the closest people in your life without really realizing it," Oliveri says. "I thought I was in the happiest relationship of my life, but slowly started to realize I was drifting away from friends and family and people who really cared about me. Friends became distant and it's almost a message to people who cared about me the most. It's like "I've been a stranger" to those people."

Last year, Oliveri released 'Dumb', his debut single for new label Spinefarm. He followed it with the video 'Spiraling Out'

So what else do you need to know about Hunter Oliveri, whose previous single 'Kids' was tipped by Pigeons + Planes

His are songs that channel the alternative and grunge blueprint of his musical heroes - think Chris Cornell and Soundgarden, Billy Corgan and The Smashing Pumpkins - imbued with the playful opaqueness of Kurt Cobain's lyricism and the easy slacker hooks of Weezer.

Like all of Oliveri's music, it speaks to the messiness of growing up. It sounds exactly like that, too. He simply writes what he knows.

There are songs about partying too hard and songs about loving too much; songs about last night’s headrush highs and the morning-after's anxious comedown. There are songs for when you need the comfort of relatability, and there are songs for when you want to simply say "f*ck it all."

They are the product of the humble authenticity of someone who's grown up in a place no different to a million others the world over. You’ve likely never heard of Paso Robles, CA, and you likely never will again. There’s sunshine, strip malls, and vineyards that outnumber venues ten to one, where the nearby underground music scene of San Luis a few miles down the road is more accessible than anything resembling the bright lights of LA two hours to the south, or San Francisco the same distance north. "It's a boring city, but we make the most of it," Oliveri shrugs. "We'll go skating, or hang out and smoke. And anyway, it's fun to go moshing in someone's basement."

It’s no surprise, then, that Oliveri is used to creating more interesting scenes than those that existed outside his window. As a kid, he would do so in the stories he dreamt up in his bedroom. "I like writing stories about worlds I'd want to live in," he says, "which made my own world seem so much bigger."

Such creativity inevitably morphed into songwriting in his early teenage years - though music had long since embedded itself within him. "I was probably four years old when I first heard 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' around my parents’ house," he recalls of music's omnipresence in his life. "I never knew the name of the song but every time I heard it, I'd be like, sh*t, it's that song. It would give me this majestic feeling.”

He laughs that his mom holds a video recording of her son gamely plucking through a rendition of a Metallica song (to Oliveri's mind, it was ...And Justice For All epic 'One') at his Kindergarten graduation performance. His dad - an avid fan of Korn and Tool - meanwhile tells him that his parents met at Woodstock; not the peace-and-love of Woodstock '69, but, more aptly, the confusion-and-chaos of Woodstock '99.

A chance meeting with a local producer’s father while in a coffee shop with his grandpa aged 14 would be the first domino to fall in the story of Oliveri's rise to prominence. The rest is a history still to be written. "I've been so incredibly lucky, but I've manifested this, too," he says. "I've always known writing music would be my life. I just had to make it happen. It was hard to find kids around my city that play instruments and want to be in a band, but I’ve been writing songs every day in my bedroom since I was maybe 13 years old. It takes me to a different place."

Those songs are anthems for those disassociated with the world on their doorstep, the soundtrack to growing up marooned between a digital world that for Oliveri speaks of with distain as "rotting people’s brains," and a real one that’s more f*cked up by the day.

"I want to bring people into my world through my music," he adds. "I want people to feel something when they listen to my music, and to relate to me, and for me to be a friend and an outlet for them."

And as for everything else?

Well, he'll figure it out as he goes.

One Step Closer announce new album & release video for new single 'Leap Years'

Leap Day only comes around once every four years, but this one marks an even more special occasion: the return of One Step Closer! Today, the Pennsylvanian melodic hardcore heroes are back with their fitting new single 'Leap Years' and the announcement of their highly anticipated album, All You Embrace, due for release on 17th May via Run For Cover Records.

Check out the video for 'Leap Years' here: https://youtu.be/88PjELlPNaY

Stream 'Leap Years' here: https://lnk.to/OSC-LeapYears

Pre-order All You Embrace here: https://lnk.to/OSC-AllYouEmbrace

All You Embrace boldly expands the scope of One Step Closer's sound, offering their most anthemic and passionate work to date.

The album follows 2021's This Place You Know and 2023's Songs For The Willow, releases that drew attention from the likes of Pitchfork, Stereogum, Revolver Magazine, The FADER, Brooklyn Vegan, NPR, SPIN, FLOOD Magazine, and more, and catapulted One Step Closer into the ranks of the most exciting new bands coming out of hardcore.

All You Embrace makes good on all of that potential, leaning into the most melodic elements of the band's sound without sacrificing an ounce of energy. Today, One Step Closer share the album's lead single 'Leap Years', a blast of ultra-anthemic punk that perfectly bridges the fury of their early work and the unabashed melody of their latest chapter.

All You Embrace finds One Step Closer exploring the sonic overlaps of hardcore, emo, '90s alternative and more - resulting in the most ambitious songs they've ever written. Produced/engineered by Jon Markson (Drug Church, Koyo, Drain, Regulate), the record sounds truly gigantic, like a widescreen, technicolour version of One Step Closer's biting sound.

“I wanted to showcase One Step Closer in its fullest state,” explains vocalist Ryan Savitski. “Every single part of the band, I wanted it to be there. I wanted us to be 100% ourselves and be as authentic to our band as we could possibly be.” And All You Embrace is certainly imbued with that sense of identity, a testament to knowing who you are in a world of uncertainties, and a powerful new era for One Step Closer.

The band will also be continuing their non-stop touring ways in support of All You Embrace. Today marks the start of One Step Closer's North American co-headlining tour with Koyo and Anxious, and in May the band will be heading to the UK for Slam Dunk Festival.

German heavy metal legends ACCEPT unveil title track of upcoming album

Legendary heavy metal titans ACCEPT have unveiled the first single from forthcoming album Humanoid (26th April, Napalm Records) - the title track. The hard-hitting first single features razor-sharp riffs in true ACCEPT style and comments on our reliance on technology. The dystopian atmosphere of the accompanying video compliments the track perfectly, depicting a stark contrast between a video wall and the band performing live in front of it.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/LYPFFZFBBYY

Pre-order the album here: https://lnk.to/ACCEPT-Humanoid/napalmrecords

The first international breakout heavy metal band from Germany, ACCEPT have influenced an entire generation of bands. Founded in 1976, ACCEPT has remained at the top of the scene with countless sold-out shows, headline slots at all major international festivals, Gold certifications, #1 chart positions and a colossal number of albums sold throughout the years.

Fans will get their chance to hear the new songs live soon after the release of Humanoid on ACCEPT’s South American tour, kicking off at the end of April, as well as at many big European summer festivals - including Hellfest, Wacken and Masters of Rock. Tickets for ACCEPT’s autumn 2024 European headline tour are also already on sale.

ACCEPT on 'Humanoid': “The song plays with the omnipresent topic of Artificial Intelligence (AI). In a strange way, we have entered exciting times now… This Digital Revolution has a huge impact, probably bigger than anything humankind has ever gone through. The Industrial Revolution was huge, but this might be even bigger, and we're just at the beginning of it. However, I'm also a little afraid that humanity gets lost and pushed aside in all this stuff. The song is pretty impactful and provoking!”

Once again finalised by leading metal producer Andy Sneap (Judas Priest, Amon Amarth, Testament, Saxon, etc.) at his Backstage Recording Studios Ltd. in Derbyshire, UK, Humanoid is a towering musical achievement and another world class entry in the ACCEPT catalogue, certain to rally fans from around the world. Humanoid will be available in various formats worldwide, some strictly limited.

Humanoid joins absolute genre classics like Balls To The Wall, certified Gold in USA and Canada, Metal Heart, and newer masterpieces like Blood of the Nations and the #1 charting album Blind Rage. Their albums regularly place in national Top 10 sales charts, with global sales in excess of 17 million to date.

ACCEPT have never shied away from hot button issues, and this album is no exception. Yet the band’s 17th studio album is certainly not a concept album. It deals with topics like AI and how our reliance on technology is gradually stripping away our individuality. ACCEPT offers a warning in this new album and title track single Humanoid. Since singer Mark Tornillo will never be an advocate for the digital age, he counterbalances the title track with raw emotions, frailties, significant Rites of Passage we encounter on the path of life and characteristics that make us uniquely human: feeling uncomfortable, getting older, dealing with hurt, disappointment, and the final stop for everyone: death.

Humanoid is a ferociously electrifying, dynamic and subtly nuanced platter with tongue in cheek humour, as heard in biblical references on 'The Reckoning' – an ode to concert audiences – a thrilling new spin on the “Frankenstein” story and 'Straight Up Jack' – a track that surely would have been a Bon Scott approved drinking song.

The opening track 'Diving into Sin' gives listeners a hair-raising energetic jolt with its Middle Eastern influenced intro, and an almost aggressive, screaming vocal from Tornillo setting the rest of the album up for a most bountiful feast. 'Unbreakable' is as much about the band as it is the bond between ACCEPT and their fans, in the concert arena – an easy going “Hey, let’s do this” kind of rock song. 'Mind Games' on the other hand, has a vintage feel, circa 'Metal Heart'. 'No One Gets Out Alive' seems tailor-made for live shows. It says that regardless of life's circumstances, rich, famous, or not, death is the great equaliser. Upbeat and aggressive with guitar interplay, 'Southside Of Hell' ends the disc with a wonderful bit of wordplay, courtesy of Tornillo.

Drawing inspiration from bands like Alter Bridge and Evanescence, Marisa And The Moths have created a sound that is both familiar and innovative. With elements of pop-infused alt-rock bands like Paramore and Flyleaf, 'SAD' is an exploration of the unspoken struggles beneath a seemingly content exterior.

On the new video, the band comments, "The music video for 'SAD' portrays the complexities of battling depression while maintaining a facade of happiness. Marisa's solo performance subtly conveys the emotions of isolation, loneliness, and vulnerability, against the neon-like backdrop reminiscent of a teenage girl's birthday party. The video perfectly complements the upbeat pop-rock sound of the music. It's a thought-provoking exploration of personal struggles due to societal expectations, including self-medicating and social masking, inviting viewers to reflect on the universal challenges of fitting in while staying true to oneself."

'SAD' is another taste of what fans can expect from Marisa And The Moths' forthcoming second album. The album promises a collection of dynamic and diverse tracks that showcase the band's growth and musical evolution.

US crossover unit Take Offense announce new album and stream single

US Crossover unit Take Offense have announced the release of new album T.O.tality on 10th May via MNRK Heavy and are streaming the first single 'Greetings From Below'.

Stream the video to 'Greetings From Below' here: https://youtu.be/vjs69i3KoWU

Pre-order T.O.tality here: https://takeoffense.ffm.to/totality.OYD

Chula Vista’s Take Offense forge ahead towards new frontiers on T.O.tality. After nearly two decades of grinding and the accompanying blood/sweat, Take Offense have mastered their craft, reaching the pinnacle of their crossover style. T.O.tality, their fourth overall album and label debut for MNRK Heavy, is marked with a sense of modernity– - incorporating the hard-driving ethos of thrash, the finesse of speed metal, the sneering tenacity of hardcore all while nodding to their home of Southern California.

Take Offense look toward the tone and attitude of their California counterparts– bands like EXCEL and Suicidal Tendencies who also leaned heavily into skate aesthetics but worshipped Sunset Strip-and-adjacent guitar dieties like Warren Di Martini and Eddie Van Halen. T.O.tality is a love letter to that scene and those times, delivered in the form of an armada of fourteen nitro-equipped tracks that explode through barricades of genre convention and emptying the clip with fresh ideas. It’s a tribute to local heroes with familiar approaches that are wholly and undoubtedly Take Offense.

Today they’ve shared T.O.tality’s opening track and lead single 'Greetings From Below' which “touches on certain Mexica beliefs of our underworlds,” reveals vocalist Anthony Herrera. “It’s believed these are places we go to when we die, but also when we go to sleep, in our dreams and nightmares. Our underworlds also correlate to our waking state as well and we usually experience them in the form of troubles or obstacles we face in our everyday life.”

Much like previous recordings, tracking for T.O.tality took place with Nick Jett (Terror) and the band serving as producers. But conflicting schedules between Herrera, guitarist Greg Cerwonka, bassist Randy Noyes, drummer Mitch Reitman and rhythm guitarist Ricky Garcia caused the recording of the much anticipated follow-up to Cause & Effect to be drawn out– writing commenced in Summer 2021 and tracking was completed in June 2023, with Matt Hyde (Slayer, No Doubt, Deftones) handling the mixing and Nick Townsend on mastering duty. “We’re incredibly proud of the record, and feel like it really represents who we are and where we’re from. But it was really a strenuous one to make and at points it felt like we might not get it done,” admits Greg. There were scheduling issues and complications around the pandemic, and on top of that Greg played in the live lineup of Turnstile for a while, so that added another layer. Regardless of all that, T.O.tality is here, and a big step forward.

And while only a cursory listen is needed to know that T.O.tality is a massive evolutionary step forward for the band, a detailed listen reveals the attention given with respect to lyricism and storytelling by frontman Anthony Herrera. Familiar lyrical themes from previous releases still ring true, but Herrera also called upon his own upbringing to add in themes surrounding existentialism, politics, soldiering forward and leaving regret behind. “I feel like I didn't hold back on things I wanted to say. It’s even in the title of the record– totality,” admits Herrera. “Certain tracks on the record have references to Mexica, which are beliefs that go back to early Mexico– something that I grew up with. When I was younger, I don’t think it was as easy for me to express certain things into words. I think things come easier now and I feel like I put it all out there. So I'm very proud to be at this point– I feel like we are stronger than ever, and with the new record we are the best version of who we are.”

Darkest Hour reveal new single 'One With The Void'

Darkest Hour have released their highly-anticipated tenth album Perpetual | Terminal, today, via MNRK Heavy. To celebrate the album's arrival, the band have shared the video for 'One With the Void'.

Order Perpetual | Terminal here: https://darkesthour.ffm.to/perpetualterminal

"This song, as well as this album, showcases John's amazing talents like none other," says Mike Schleibaum, guitar.  "With this in mind, we chose to unveil this song, 'One With the Void', as our third video and single for the release of Perpetual | Terminal. An emotional leap, 'One with the Void' channels the melodic, dark, and atmospheric side of Darkest Hour. We are excited to premier this song alongside this incredible video by Mirko Witzki. This song is so personal to me, I love it. It continues the long tradition of John combining his amazing melodic talents with his introspective lyrical approach. To me, this is a love song; others might see another story, regardless there is no doubt this song expands the musical pallet of this band and brings a balance to this record that makes it perfect."

Vocalist John Henry himself states, "This is probably my favorite song off the new album too. The music spoke to me from the early stages of the writing process and I knew this would be a special one. All the space created by the band really inspired me to get creative with the vocal melodies and try new approaches. It's always a risky feeling trying new ideas and expanding on the established sound of the band, but also the most rewarding part of the process for me."

Darkest Hour, as a whole, have weathered time, trends, and tides of change and stand stronger nearly three decades since their formation. Their unique sonic style incorporates death metal exorcisms, thrash recklessness, hardcore punk attitude, and melodic catharsis at the speed of a circle pit.

"The record's theme centers around the duality of survival while embracing rebirth,'" says Schleibaum"We keep killing parts of ourselves to make new parts and survive. The story of the record is the story of the band. We're still here, and we're giving the world a body of work that's representative of our music today. We've realized relationships, tours, good times, everything that seems to give life meaning, is terminal — and will inevitably end. Nevertheless, we're 46-year-old dudes who love this music enough to put up with the trials and tribulations of being artists in a touring band."

Darkest Hour clawed their way out of the DMV area in the USA in 1995. Throughout the ensuing years, they tallied tens of millions of streams and quietly built a diehard fan base. Canvasing the globe, they packed thousands of shows and touched down on every continent, save Antarctica. Along the way, they notably notched five top 3 debuts on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums Chart. 2017's Godless Prophets & the Migrant Flora marked the group's third #1 bow on the latter in addition to crashing the top 10 of the Top Vinyl Albums Chart. It also represented a creative and critical high watermark. Beyond praise from RevolverEXCLAIM!, and more, MetalSucks rated it a rare perfect score of "5-out-of-5" and hailed it as "the best album Darkest Hour have ever made." New Noise cited it as "one of the best of 2017," and Metal Hammer dubbed it "a monumental return." PopMatters crowned it "a masterclass in following your beliefs no matter where they might take you."

Darkest Hour ended their 2023 touring across the USA with Exodus and Fit For An Autopsy. Their 2024 begins with a bang, with a headline tour across North America with Mouth of War, Filth Is Eternal, IAM, and Somnuri in support.

Perpetua state: "This is a song about bad choices, depression and how far our minds can fall into despair as a result. Much like the overall lyrical content on the album, it's very deep and dark. This track is in a lower tuning, featuring some of the grooviest and heaviest guitars on the album, making it a stand out single for us. Visually, we thought to lean into the despair. Showing how the mind can be twisted by opting to view it through augmented lenses and prisms. The pace of the video carrying forth the idea that life can be hard to keep up with.

"This album is the culmination of all our efforts to create something special. It’s a fresh take on classic metal formulas with a modern twist. We felt that the aggressiveness and depth of the songs really stood out how we imagined. The layered choruses, the fast technical guitars, and the ferocious groove all blended together perfectly. We strived for a more technical and melodic approach in contrast to our previous work. The song structures are now more in-depth and progressively changing. Like the lyrical content, we feel the instrumental aspect of the song itself is very dark and moving.

"We were heavily focused on creating a combination of blistering fast riffs, death metal vocals and soaring chorus hooks. We wanted to write an album as technical and aggressively heavy as we could, and we feel that we reached that. We spent a lot of time digging into song structures, rearranging and making sure we were content with the final outcome of every song. We knew how important our first full-length album is and for that reason it had to be perfect. We hope you enjoy it and thanks for your support."

Forming in 2013, Perpetua released their debut EP Resistance in 2016, and second EP To Suffer in 2018, supported by two successful headline UK tours.
