'Battle Cry' addresses the fight against complacency and the quest for meaning in adversity, challenging listeners to assess their own engagement with life's challenges. As the song intensifies, it encourages listeners to assert themselves, becoming not just a backdrop of aggression but an anthem for self-expression and resilience.

'Battle Cry' demonstrates Sable Hills’ ability to combine introspective themes with dynamic, impactful music. This track is set to resonate with both new and longtime fans, preparing them for an album full of raw energy and bold intensity. With the pre-order available, fans are eagerly awaiting the full experience.

Sable Hills have captivated audiences with their electrifying headline tours, notably Chaos J.P. 2023, which featured the likes of Like Moths To Flames and Knosis, led by Ryo Kinoshita, former vocalist of Crystal Lake. This tour marked an important return to Japan for these acts after a long hiatus.

The band's ascent to prominence was ignited by their debut album EMBERS (2019), which received widespread acclaim and positioned them at the pinnacle of Japan's metal scene, allowing them to share the stage with renowned Japanese bands such as coldrainCrystal Lake, and international heavyweights Fit For A King and After The Burial. Appearing at major festivals Bloodaxe Festival at Club Citta Kawasaki and True North Festival at Shin-Kiba Studio Coast further enhanced their reputation.

The release of their second album DUALITY marked another high point in their career. The album's release tour, extending from Japan to Europe, included performances at Wacken Open Air in Germany and Brutal Assault in the Czech Republic. At Wacken 2022Sable Hills achieved an historic victory, winning the METAL BATTLE 2022, a first for a Japanese band.

In 2023, the band kept on striving forward, selling out their show at Spotify O-WEST and performing at major festivals including coldrain's BLARE FESTKNOTFEST and at Wacken Open Air for the second consecutive year. Their very own FRONTLINE FESTIVAL at Kawasaki Club Citta was a resounding success, attracting close to 1000 attendees.

Canadian quartet Rarity release video for new single 'who gives a f*ck?'

Beloved Canadian rock quartet Rarity have released a video for their new single 'who gives a f*ck?' The track is the final single from their upcoming third album Lower Feeling, due for release on 7th June via New Damage Records

Check out the video for 'who gives a f*ck?' here: https://youtu.be/_106KeWxl3o

Stream 'who gives a f*ck?' here: https://raritystream.com/wgaf

Pre-order Lower Feeling here: https://www.dinealonestore.com/collections/rarity

Commenting on the new tracks, vocalist Loeden Learn says:

"'Who gives a f*ck' is about trying to separate the constant depression we experience and the crazy world we live in. The fact that nothing in this world really matters at the end of the day and we’re all just specs of dust in an always evolving and changing planet. The earth will keep turning long after we’re gone and that the only thing that matters is happiness, whatever that means to you personally. Just trying hard to live the best life you can. Who gives a f*ck, at the end of the day.

Rarity's follow-up to 2019's lauded record, The Longest Lonesome, finds the perfect balance between catchy pop-punk anthems and the gripping intensity of their post-hardcore roots.

Discussing the new album, Learn adds:

"This record at the end of the day is about growth. Growth as human beings, growth as friends, growth as four musicians trying to make the best songs they possibly can in a band they love. This record is a record of love, a record of passion and a record of brutal honesty. The lyrics are personal and introspective, with themes that I absolutely hated talking about with every fibre of my being. My worst fears and greatest dreams. This record is about losing self control, not being able to hold your brain together in times of sadness and pain, and taking things you have no control over way too seriously.

"While the lyrics may convey feelings of sadness and anger, the record itself couldn’t be further from. We loved writing this record, and we miss waking up every day being able to make this record. It is everything
Rarity as a band have always wanted to be, and we’re just so happy to be here. We’re happy we’re able to make music and live this crazy emotional rollercoaster of a life that we live. We wouldn’t have it any other way. We truly sincerely hope people enjoy Lower Feeling as much as we enjoyed making it, because we really truly loved every second of it."

Originally uniting in 2014, the members of Rarity started touring straight out of high school and quickly amassed an avid following. In 2015, the Hamilton, ON-based outfit dropped their debut EP, Alive in Your Eyes, featuring the breakout single 'Anne Hathaway' and showcasing a mature blend of buoyant pop-punk and intricate post-hardcore that belied their relative youth.

A critically-acclaimed full-length, I Couldn’t Be Weaker, came the next year and, with fan-favourites like 'Stranger' and 'Exhale', proved the band’s quick rise to prominence was well-earned. Rarity saw their stock soar to impressive heights with high-profile tours and festival slots and, for a while, it seemed that they were unstoppable.

But then, in 2017, the band watched as their foundation started to weather and crumble. They faced a cesspool of legal struggles, illnesses, strained relationships, and the departure of two founding members. That left drummer Evan Woods, singer Loeden Learn, and guitarist Adam Clarke with some difficult decisions.

It would’ve been easy to throw in the towel – and they almost did – but self-doubt, strain, and conflict soon spurred unbridled creativity and Rarity, augmented by the addition of bassist Cole Gardner in 2018, realised there was plenty to fight for.

The band emerged in 2019 with their critically praised comeback record The Longest Lonesome, which was still rooted in accessible, hook-laden melodies, but with a sharper edge and more potent distillation of their various influences – from metal and hardcore to pop-punk, alternative, and much in between.

Now, Rarity look forward to starting their next chapter in 2024, re-energised and with a new found wealth of creativity, as they continue to carve their own niche in the pop-punk/post-hardcore scene.

Charlotte Wessels announces album & releases video for haunting new single 'The Exorcism'

Charismatic Dutch singer/songwriter Charlotte Wessels has announced details of her new album The Obsession, due for release on 20th September via Napalm Records. Wessels has also released a video for her new single, the haunting 'The Exorcism'.

Check out the video for 'The Exorcism' here: https://youtu.be/yWqsWZJkKeE

Stream 'The Exorcism' here: https://orcd.co/cw-theexorcism

Pre-order The Obsession here: https://lnk.to/CW-TheObsession/napalmrecords

The Obsession marks Wessels Napalm Records debut, and while her earlier solo endeavours - full-length song compilations Tales From Six Feet Under (2021) and Tales From Six Feet Under Vol II (2022) - already gained her a remarkable number of devotees, The Obsession truly takes her career to the next level. The new album promises a cohesive exploration of fear and liberation, as well as spellbinding melancholia and dark, catchy elements meeting progressive and heavier soundscapes. The storytelling within the songs give the multifaceted album even more depth, making The Obsession an exciting listening experience and Wessels’ most mature offering so far.

First single 'The Exorcism' is an astonishing proof of Wessels’ matchless talent and genre-bending songwriting qualities and, on top marks, the heaviest solo offering she has released so far. Quietly drawing the listener into this sonic sphere, the song bursts into a heavy attack shortly after. It’s calm and loud, reduced and bombastic, fragile and confident alike and presents Charlotte Wessels’ thrilling, full vocal range, heating the anticipation for everything that’s about to come.

Wessels comments on 'The Exorcism': “I’ve been thinking a lot about fears and behaviors I’ve had since I was a child, and how at certain moments in life I thought I’d overcome them for good, but they’d always rear their ugly heads again in time. I keep wondering why. Did I invite them back in? 'The Exorcism' is a call for these demons to stay away - but also a message to myself and others facing similar challenges, to hang on – even if they don’t.”

Whilst still writing and producing the songs in her Six Feet Under basement home studio and sharing their first incarnations with her patrons, Charlotte Wessels is now taking the songs off her new album The Obsession to the next level with a band of her fellow ex-Delain cohorts: Timo Somers (guitars, additional arrangements), Otto Schimmelpenninck van der Oije (bass) and Joey Marin de Boer (drums), as well as Sophia Vernikov (piano/hammond) contributing to the new heavier sound. The album also features arrangements by Vikram Shankar (Silent Skies, Pain of Salvation), cello by Elianne Anemaat, was mixed by Guido Aalbers (Muse, Coldplay, The Gathering) and mastered by Andy VanDette (Porcupine Tree, VOLA, Dream Theater).

Wessels on the new album: "On the one hand, this album tells a very personal story – through its unintended theme of fear, obsessive thoughts and the escapes from them – and at the same time it represents the joy of finding the songs' true forms with everyone involved in the making of this record. That’s why I chose The Obsession as a title. It refers to my personal challenges with OCD that inspired many of the songs - but I’ve also started referring to the band as The Obsession - because there were moments in the studio with them that truly reminded me of why I'm obsessed with making music in the first place."

Themes like fear, obsessive thoughts and escapism run rampant on the album, presenting dark and heavy on songs like 'The Exorcism', 'The Crying Room' and 'Ode To The West Wind' (feat. Alissa White-Gluz/Arch Enemy). In addition, there are songs that offer a more upbeat approach to the subject – like 'Dopamine' (feat. Simone Simons/Epica) which deals with SSRI-induced numbness, or 'Praise' – which sings the gospel of needing external validation in order to feel anything. The reimagining of fan-favorite 'Soft Revolution' won’t leave a dry eye in the room, while 'Soulstice' and 'Serpentine' present an unprecedented dark sensuality. Each song itself functions like an exorcism, an attempt to cast out a little of the fear it deals with.

Wessels adds: “I’m extremely grateful and proud to add Simone Simons and Alissa White-Gluz to the line-up of this album. They are creative powerhouses that I have so much love and respect for. Whenever we get to work together is an absolute treat and they really elevated the songs with their performances.”

Jinjer release poignant live video for hit track 'Home Back'

Jinjer, Ukraine's most dynamic musical force, have unleashed a new live video for their gripping anti-war anthem 'Home Back'.

The live version is cut from their highly-anticipated first official live DVD/BluRay, Live in Los Angeles, set for release on 17th May 2024 via Napalm Records. Originally the track appeared on Jinjer’s 2019 studio album, Macro. This meaningful song holds profound significance and perfectly embraces the sense of the new live album. Filmed on 22nd December, 2022 at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, USA, Live in Los Angeles not only honours their endurance through recent challenges, but also celebrates their triumphant 15-year journey.

Watch 'Home Back' here: https://youtu.be/RXP9VPvmxGs

Pre-order Live in Los Angeles here: https://lnk.to/JINJER-LiveInLA/napalmrecords

During these 15 years, Jinjer have attained remarkable milestones, touring globally and captivating millions at prestigious festivals like Hellfest, Rock am Ring, Graspop Metal Meeting, Download Festival and Rocklahoma USA. Moreover, their latest triumph, the acclaimed studio album Wallflowers, broke charts worldwide, soaring to #1 on both the US Billboard Top New Artist Album charts and Canadian Hard Music album charts, #2 on the US Hard Music album charts, #5 on the official UK Rock & Metal album charts and #7 on the official German album charts.

Jinjer comment on 'Home Back': “Since it‘s original release back in 2019, ‘Home Back’ has become another anthem for Jinjer and our followers. From its upbeat musical groove to its lyrics charged with pacifism and unfortunate predictions about the state of the world we find ourselves in today, we felt like this was no brainer to release as the third single for the Live In Los Angeles DVD!”

Live in Los Angeles was a spontaneous decision by the band, recorded as raw as possible, to emphasise the passion that can come from a live show. This release is an explosive mixture of Jinjer’s discography - featuring fan favorites like 'Sit Stay Roll Over', 'Home Back' and the game-changing 'Pisces'. The live album contains 16 songs in various audio formats, with some strictly limited: the Deluxe Digipack features not only a DVD, but also two more songs, 'Wallflower' & 'Disclosure!', recorded in Paris in 2023.

With feisty growls and soul-shattering clean vocals, the live energy of frontwoman Tatiana Shmayluk presented on Live in Los Angeles leaves the listener breathless, whilst lethally groovy riffs and multifarious drums culminate to a technical masterpiece, cutting sharp like a razorblade. Live in Los Angeles is Jinjer at the top of their game - breaking every rule in heavy metal by doing things their very own way, and preparing fans for the next step of their world domination.

Jinjer commented on Live in Los Angeles“Our sold-out Los Angeles show at the end of our 2022 tour was the perfect time and place to do something special - something like a long awaited DVD/live album by Jinjer. The totally packed, legendary venue, the crazy west coast vibes, and most importantly, the band delivering it with full force after being on tour for six months around the globe - from Europe to Australia and back to the USA - made this an extra special night. For the fans who joined us that night at The Wiltern, it was an unforgettable concert, but now every single Jinjer supporter around the world can experience and enjoy an ideal set featuring our biggest hits from older albums as well as recent bangers. This is not just a DVD or a live album, but a celebration of the first 15 years of the Jinjer story, right before we move on to the next chapter…”

Denver hardcore group Fox Lake joins MNRK Heavy roster

MNRK Heavy is pleased to welcome Colorado-based hardcore group Fox Lake to its roster for the release of their upcoming new full-length.

Born in the high elevation of Denver, Fox Lake bring an elevated and energetic sound to the heavy music scene. The band started in 2017 as four friends jamming in their basement looking to branch out from the typical metalcore sound by incorporating elements of their favourite genres: hardcore, hip-hop, and rock ‘n’ roll. Fox Lake have continually levelled up by giving audiences undeniable grooves, punchy rhythms, and an anti-establishment swagger. It’s all culminated into a sonic, brass-knuckled punch to the face that’s landing on anyone in their proximity.

Comments Scott Givens, MNRK Heavy’s SVP Rock & Metal,Fox Lake is an amazing band that makes a great addition to the MNRK Heavy roster. They have put in a ton of work building their career to this point, and we are honoUred to have been chosen as their label as they enter the next phase of their career. I look forward to a long partnership with the band.”

In celebration of the signing, today Fox Lake have released a video of their new single, 'Savior'.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/N9j5F6z8CWk

The band commented on the track, “Whether it be from the corruption, lies, abuse of power, or just plain disrespect, so many people, regardless of their political identity, have lost faith in our systems. The belief that our institutions are looking out for us seems to be a thing of the past. ‘Savior’ is a rallying cry for anyone who feels disenfranchised. It’s an energetic wake-up call to confront our responsibilities. We need to look out for each other because no one else will.”

Stand by for more info on Fox Lake in the months to come.

From Fall To Spring release video for new single 'CONTROL'

German rock / nu-metal sextet From Fall to Spring have released their brand new single and video 'CONTROL', out now via Arising Empire.

Check out the video for 'CONTROL' here: https://youtu.be/B4XnjGnX6Hk

Stream 'CONTROL' here: https://arisingempire.com/control

'CONTROL' is a compelling new single that delves deep into themes of personal turmoil and the search for self-mastery amidst chaos. The lyrics explore feelings of losing grip on oneself, as evident in lines like "I lost control of myself, there's no love left." The song captures a fierce determination to overcome, highlighting a struggle against internal demons and external influences.

Formed in Germany, From Fall To Spring are showing off a new standard within the nu-metal scene. The band made a strong first impression with their two self-produced EPs, A Better Tomorrow (2017) and Disconnected (2019), which garnered over one million streams. Their rise continued with singles 'Supernova', 'RISE' and 'BR4INFCK'.

Catching the attention of Arising Empire, From Fall To Spring signed to the label in 2021 and have since released six singles: 'DESTINY', 'BLACK HEART''BARRIERS''BEASTMODE', 'LIGHT UP THE SKY' and 'DRAW THE LINE'. The band's singles have collectively surpassed 11.7 million streams.

Now with over 109,000 followers on TikTok and over 31,000 on Instagram, From Fall To Spring continue to build on their success, having performed at Full ForcePell Mell Festival and more in 2022, followed by a headline tour across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Post-rock collective Pijn unveil highly anticipated new album with debut single release

Post-rock collective Pijn are a uniquely brilliant, and brilliantly unique proposition. Based next to the UK’s infamous Strangeways Prison, the group have captivated audiences worldwide for nearly eight years. Their upcoming album, From Low Beams Of Hope, to be released on 28th June by Floodlit Recordings, promises to elevate their artistry to new, breathtaking levels.

Ahead of the release date, Pijn have shared the mesmerising first single 'On The Far Side Of Morning'.

Check out ‘On The Far Side Of Morning’ here: https://youtu.be/0QzuzYu1blw

Pre-order and listen to From Low Beams Of Hope here: https://www.floodlitrecordings.com/ or via https://pijn.bandcamp.com/album/from-low-beams-of-hope

Guitarist/Producer Joe Clayton on the new single, "'On The Far Side Of Morning' encapsulates so much of what I wanted to achieve with this record, a broad emotional range from solitude and fragility to triumph and purpose, removing limitations on instrumentation and personnel in pursuit of what, for us, was an uncompromising crescendo."

From Low Beams Of Hope represents Pijn's most avant-garde creation yet, delving into realms of introspection beyond their prior discography. An enchanting opus spanning four tracks and clocking in at just over forty-five minutes. Departing from conventional songwriting, the album embraces a cohesive thematic approach, immersing listeners in a visceral whirlwind of emotions where positivity intertwines with profound melancholy. Notably, this release signifies a significant milestone as the band's inaugural album under their independent label, Floodlit Recordings, showcasing a seamless journey from inception through recording, mixing, mastering, and eventual release.

Adds Joe, "From Low Beams of Hope is an album with more of an abstract feel than our previous records. Where Floodlit and Loss were a very focused reaction to grief, From Low Beams Of Hope came from an attempt to get perspective on the passage of life, thematically and sonically embracing our own experiences in an attempt to create something that can feel at once uplifting and exciting, vulnerable and reflective, yet was made in fragmented and difficult surroundings."

Audio clips sourced from the band's touring and studio experiences form the foundation of From Low Beams Of Hope. These snippets of chatter, in-jokes and camaraderie only become prominent in the album's softer, more melancholic moments. Additionally, the introductory poem sets the tone for the record, highlighting themes of impermanence, perspective, regret, and respite. An incredibly immersive and mind-expanding listening experience, the album showcases the collective's growth since their previous releases. This includes their 2020 reimagining of their debut album, Loss (originally from 2018), as well as the highly acclaimed collaboration with Conjurer, Curse These Metal Hands.

Over the years, Pijn have received praise from esteemed publications such as Metal Hammer, Kerrang!, Prog, Rhythm, and others. Their performances at prominent events like  RoadburnArcTanGent's main stage, Portals Fest alongside The Armed, Vennart, Oathbreaker, Inter Arma, Pelican, and beyond have showcased their musical prowess across Europe and the UK. Pijn stands out as a rare musical ensemble that consistently reveals hidden treasures with each listen, and their latest offering, From Low Beams Of Hope, is no different.

Hailing from Quebec City, Canada, Get The Shot was formed in 2009 and has since become one of the flag bearers of the Quebec hardcore and metal scene. Known for their authentic, spirited hardcore music, the band delivers a powerful blend of thrash, death metal, and beatdown elements, drawing influences from iconic bands like Hatebreed, Obituary, Slayer and Machine Head.

Get The Shot has honed a unique style that remains true to the roots of hardcore punk. Committed to the core values of authenticity and equality, their music critically explores the challenges of today's individualistic society while captivating fans with its intense and brutal sound.

Get The Shot has emerged as a formidable force in the hardcore scene since their inception, launching with 'Perdition' in 2012, and quickly establishing a unique, raw and uncompromising style. Their discography, which includes No Peace In Hell (2014), Infinite Punishment (2017), and the JUNO-nominated Merciless Destruction (2022), reflects a consistent refinement of their intense sound and a broadening of their global reach through extensive touring.

With over 500 concerts across three continents, including prominent appearances at festivals like Wacken, Hellfest and Summerbreeze, Get The Shot has solidified their reputation with impactful tracks and explosive live performances. Their music, characterized by a potent combination of aggression and principled themes, continues to resonate deeply with fans. The band remains committed to the core values of authenticity, integrity, and equality, addressing the disillusioned realism and flaws of an era marked by blind individualism.

Recently, Get The Shot has entered an exciting new chapter with a massive release in collaboration with Zelli from Paleface Swiss under their new label. This partnership marks yet another step in their journey, as they continue to embody the rage and anger towards the brutal realities of our world, cementing their standing on international stages and within the hardcore community.
