Fans will kick off the Welcome To Rockville celebration at the Wednesday night Welcome To Rockville Official Pre-Party at the festival site on 6th May with performances from Fuel, Local H, Adelitas Way and Ashes Remain. Colombian prog rockers band Argovia (Presagio Records) have unveiled their new single 'Mountains', available on all platforms.

The track is the second preview of their upcoming album, scheduled for release in 2026.

“'Mountains' was born from a very deep emotional place,” says Ani Guillén, vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter. “It’s a song about hitting rock bottom, feeling lost in an existential void, and finding your way out through someone who truly connects with you, reminds you who you are, and helps you escape the emptiness.”

The image of mountains rising embodies that inner awakening - the moment when someone emerges from lethargy and rediscovers purpose. “We wanted the music to reflect that sense of ascent, of energy building up,” adds Guillén.

Built around Prophet and Moog synthesizers, 'Mountains' blends nostalgia and modernity in equal measure. “From the beginning, we knew we wanted an 80s-inspired sound, but approached from a modern perspective,” explains Carlos Arminio, keyboardist and co-founder. “We built the whole track from the keyboards - we didn’t even touch the guitar until the end.”

The result is a rich soundscape full of analogue textures, subtle layers, and immersive atmospheres, closing with a classic rock organ. Nicolás Paredes’ bass adds tension and groove, while Mauricio Sanabria’s drums bring a clear, modern pulse -moving away from the reverb-heavy 80s style and delivering an energetic, addictive production.

Co-produced by Germán Vergara (Aisles), Ani Guillén, and Carlos Arminio; mixed by Fernando Cubillos (Aisles, Helloween, Mark Farner); and mastered by Steve Kitch (The Pineapple Thief), the single fuses modern prog, pop hooks, and subtle electronic elements, shaping a warm, powerful, and contemporary identity.

'Mountains' stands as a sonic metaphor for inner rebirth, influenced by Haken (Affinity) and Steven Wilson (Hand. Cannot. Erase, To the Bone), reflecting the human struggle between advancing or falling back, healing or repeating.

'Mountains' is the second single in a series of releases leading up to Argovia’s new album, expected in 2026. It follows their acclaimed EP Who We Are, included in the Best EP of 2024 category by specialized prog outlet Nación Progresiva, cementing their status as rising stars in the region.

Founded in 2013 by multi-instrumentalist Ani Guillén (guitars, drums, bass, vocals) and keyboardist/music producer Carlos Arminio, Argovia are a progressive rock band from Bogotá, Colombia. Hailed as one of the most promising acts in Latin American prog, they are poised to make their mark on the international scene.

The band released their debut EP Lost Letters (2014), which earned them a nomination for EP of the Year at the Unión Rock Show awards. Three years later came their first full-length album Distant Present (2017), mastered by Tony Lindgren (Fascination Street Studios, Opeth, Leprous, Katatonia, and more). The record led them to tour several Colombian cities, including Cali and Medellín, and secured their participation in Prog in Motion 2017, the country’s only progressive rock festival.

In 2024, they released the EP Who We Are, which was mixed by Alejandro Londoño (Cultura Tres, Delain, Sepultura), mastered by Steve Kitch (The Pineapple Thief), and featuring drums by Felipe Candia (Aisles). With this release, the band moved away from symphonic and digital sounds, embracing a heavier, rawer, and more mature style, drawing inspiration from Riverside, The Gathering, VOLA, Steven Wilson, and Karnivool. The EP earned them an invitation to open for Norwegian band Circus Maximus during their Bogotá show in September 2024. In addition, vocalist Ani Gillén participated in the choral recording of the song 'Faceless' for Leprous, included in their album Melodies of Atonement.

In 2025, Grey Daze returned to rock radio with 'Fake Little Lies' and 'Still Screaming', their first new music since Chester’s passing. With Hodges’ distinctive vocals and growing songwriting presence, the band rekindled its creative momentum and performed a series of sold-out European shows.

“We had fans travel from Japan and even from the war-torn border of Ukraine just to see us,” Dowdell shared. “It reminded us how deeply these songs resonate. They still need to be heard.”

Formed in Phoenix, Arizona in 1993 by drummer Sean Dowdell and vocalist Chester Bennington, Grey Daze became a standout in the 90s alternative scene, releasing two independent albums and cultivating a devoted underground following. After Bennington’s rise to global fame with Linkin Park, the band’s catalogue remained dormant for years. In 2016, plans began for a reunion featuring the original members alongside new guitarist Cristin Davis, with a special performance scheduled for Club Tattoo’s anniversary in 2017. Those plans were tragically cut short by Chester’s passing.

In 2020, Grey Daze released Amends on Loma Vista Recordings, featuring Bennington’s archival vocals and guest appearances from members of Korn, P.O.D., Bush, and Breaking Benjamin. The album debuted at #1 on the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart. The follow-up record, The Phoenix (2022), reached #2, featuring Dave Navarro, Richard Patrick (Filter), and Bennington’s twin daughters Lily and Lila on vocals.

Grey Daze returned to the stage in 2023 for U-Fest in Phoenix, where the band introduced Cris Hodges as frontman. By 2024, the line-up expanded with Evan Nichols on bass and Kenny Bulka on guitar, cementing the band’s revitalized five-piece sound.

Viribus Unitis deepens 1914’s commitment to historical authenticity, both lyrically and conceptually. Told through the personal accounts of a Ukrainian soldier in the K.u.K. army, the album follows  real events, tracing a timeline from 1914 to 1919, and paints a grim journey through the war’s rise, climax and hollow aftermath.

With Viribus Unitis, Latin for “With United Forces”, 1914 once again attest their unflinching brutality. More than just the personal motto of Franz Joseph I, the former emperor of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, this title directly speaks to the band’s resilience through war, loss, and upheaval, a powerful symbol of survival and solidarity. The album builds on the band’s acclaimed conceptual approach, reaching new emotional depths and musical intensity.
 
Continuing their chronicle of World War I, 1914 shift their focus from the raw portrayal of death and destruction, to exploring themes of camaraderie, endurance, and the emotional landscapes of those who endured the horrors of trench warfare. While previous releases like The Blind Leading the Blind (2018) and Where Fear and Weapons Meet (2021) centered on the futility and finality of war, Viribus Unitis exemplifies the interpersonal bonds forged under fire and the strength of those warriors who made it home: broken, changed, yet still alive.
 
Musically, 1914 remain true to their identity, a brutal mixture of blackened death metal, slow-burning doom, and ambient war soundscapes. This time, however, their sound gains a broader dynamic range, with soaring melodic leads, orchestral textures, and haunting clean vocals that provide dramatic contrast to the crushing heaviness.

One of the album’s highlights is a collaboration with Aaron Stainthorpe of My Dying Bride and High Parasite on '1918 Pt. 3: ADE (A Duty to Escape)', whose mournful voice adds a solemn, almost liturgical quality to this elegy of grief and brotherhood on the front lines. Viribus Unitis deepens 1914’s commitment to historical authenticity, both lyrically and conceptually. The album ends with '1919 (The Home Where I Died)', featuring Rome’s Jerome Reuter, a haunting portrait of a soldier who survived the war, but not its shadow. This emotional song deals with the soldier's will to live and his family values, seeing him escape from captivity to finally return home to embrace his wife and daughter. 1914 fuse blackened death metal, doom, and atmospheric textures with dramatic flourishes and guest vocals, creating their most dynamic and emotionally resonant record to date.

The band has always explored themes of betrayal, loss, and social issues, but this song is more of a ‘f*uck you.’ A f*ck you to the people who have no idea what real struggle is, but are the first and loudest to complain. It’s a frustration so many people deal with. We wanted to let some steam out and hopefully ease some frustration for a few others along the way. Growing up with little to no money in a city full of people born into riches makes you bitter when you’re young.
