THROATCUT. return with new single 'KILLTHENOISE'

THROATCUT. return with their ferocious new single 'KILLTHENOISE.' — a track that captures the band exactly where they are right now: louder, sharper and impossible to ignore.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/IdWHfub--84

Following the strong momentum of their debut album, which quickly positioned the band as one of the most talked-about new acts in the German heavy scene, THROATCUT. have been steadily carving out their place far beyond the underground. Their uncompromising sound and high-intensity live presence have already taken them onto bigger stages — including a standout appearance at Summer Breeze 2025, where they proved they can command crowds on one of Europe’s biggest metal platforms.

'KILLTHENOISE.' feels like the next logical step. Direct, aggressive and stripped of any excess, the track doubles down on the band’s raw identity while pushing their sonic weight even further forward. It’s the sound of a band that has moved past the introduction phase and is now fully locked in on the next level.

With growing momentum behind them, bigger stages ahead and a rapidly expanding audience, THROATCUT. are clearly entering a new chapter — and 'KILLTHENOISE.' is the first signal that they are ready to take it.

German deathcore force Obey The Kraken descend into 'Netherworld'

Germany’s deathcore wrecking force Obey The Kraken have unleashed 'Netherworld', the second single from their forthcoming EP, Apocrypha, out 10th April via Seek & Strike

Having already torn open the gates with last month’s first single 'Betrayer', the band offered a first glimpse into the dark mythology that defines their sound. Now they descend even deeper with 'Netherworld', a suffocating slab of unfiltered deathcore brutality where cavernous vocals, bone-splintering breakdowns and oppressive riffs collide like collapsing cathedrals.

Watch the video for 'Netherworld' here: https://youtu.be/txM8x-Kk3PI

Pre-save Apocrypha here:  https://orcd.co/otk2026ep

Emerging from Germany’s increasingly vicious extreme metal underground, Obey The Kraken have quickly built a reputation for deathcore that is as narrative driven as it is punishing. Their upcoming EP Apocrypha continues the band’s fascination with apocalyptic storytelling, a biblical saga of fallen angels, infernal alliances and war against the heavens themselves, with each track acting as another chapter in the descent.

If ‘Betrayer’ opened the portal, ‘Netherworld’ drags listeners straight into the abyss, darker, heavier and even more merciless. It’s a track that strips deathcore back to its most violent instincts while amplifying the band’s looming, mythic atmosphere, pushing the anticipation for Apocrypha into genuinely catastrophic territory.

Nothing about this world is subtle. Every riff is a weapon. Every breakdown lands like a hammer blow. And with ‘Netherworld’, Obey The Kraken make it brutally clear that the descent has only just begun.

Commenting on the EP, Obey The Kraken said: "Apocrypha means a lot to us, especially as we hadn't planned this second EP.  After finishing our first EP (Worship The Sunken God) last year things developed naturally and we realized we had more to say within this world and sound. We consciously kept the formula of the first EP intact, so anyone who enjoyed EP1 will feel right at home with EP2. Listening back to the final masters, we’re genuinely happy with how consistent and powerful the release feels as a whole. Everything was designed to feel massive, heavy, and epic, supporting the narrative without overcomplicating the production approach.

"Lyrics play a central role for us. Our first EP told the complete story of Cthulhu and his resurrection across four songs and we wanted to apply that same conceptual approach again. On Apocrypha, the songs tell the story of an angel who is cast out of heaven, forms an alliance with hell and ultimately seeks to conquer heaven itself. Each track represents a different chapter of that narrative."

Apocrypha tells a story in sound, an angel cast from heaven, forging an alliance with hell, returning to challenge the celestial order itself. The EP moves like the story, deliberate and immersive, pulling listeners into Obey The Kraken’s realm where narrative and brutality are inseparable. Nothing is decorative. Nothing is wasted. Every note exists to damage and leave its mark.

Whilst preserving the DNA of their debut, Obey The Kraken push further into uncharted territory.  With production carried out entirely in house, leaving the band with full control over how heavy, how clear and how oppressive they needed it to feel. The result is an EP that is heavy and unflinching, a complete assault for fans who crave deathcore that hits as hard thematically as it does musically.

Celebrated New York punks I Am The Avalanche examine lasting friendship on new single

“When you have real pals in this life, you can and will go to hell on Earth and back together,” the band said of the new single. “You can also reach levels of joy, love, and friendship that some only find in a dream.”

Their first full-length offering in six years - along with being the band’s most expansive and textural album to date - THE HORROR SHOW is a collection of songs forged in grief, courage, and the refusal to stand still. Written largely in the wake of frontman Vinnie Caruana’s profound personal loss, the album explores friendship, mortality, love, and resilience with a deeper emotional weight than ever before, all while embracing total creative freedom.

Leading the set is the album’s title track, an intensely intimate song that details the act of grieving and an altered worldview as a result of a dear friend’s passing. “Immeasurable loss is something all of us will endure, if we haven’t already,” Caruana said. “Like when a grenade explodes in a war movie, all you hear is the ringing in your ears and see the world in front of you with a different tint.”

I Am The Avalanche have been confirmed for 2000trees festival 2026.

22 years into their career, I Am The Avalanche are making the most powerful music of their lives with THE HORROR SHOW, the band’s fifth full-length album. The heart of The Horror Show beats in the wake of unimaginable loss. "Experiencing ultimate loss will change you on a cellular level,” says frontman Vinnie Caruana. “About 75% of the lyrics were written after my best friend passed away suddenly and unexpectedly.”

Rebuilding from that devastation brought a new perspective. “You find courage you didn’t know you had,” he reflects. “Courage … that was his last gift to me.”

While the record confronts grief, it is not defined by it. Across 11 tracks, I Am The Avalanche explore various personal themes with the same urgency that has fuelled them since day one, but this time drawn from a deeper emotional well than ever before. It’s reflected in Caruana’s lyric writing but embraced by the whole band. “We go to a lot of new places, musically,” Caruana explains. “There are no rules or constraints. Complete freedom to create and push our music forward.”

That sense of freedom is everywhere — on the driving title track “THE HORROR SHOW,” the raw defiance of 'LAUGHING AND BLEEDING,' the fragility of '5:55,' the life-affirming radiance of 'I’M NOT DEAD…,' the punishing force of 'TRUE LEGENDS NEVER DIE,' and the shimmery glow of 'ALIVE ON 14th STREET.' It’s an album made with the visceral understanding that life can change in an instant and nothing should be left unsaid.

Out of that tribute comes a duality: The Horror Show holds grief and celebration side by side. In that, Caruana hopes this album can become a guide for anyone experiencing loss. “This record can become a lifelong companion for those who let it in,” he says. “The message is simple: You are stronger than you think you are and you are not alone.”

The Horror Show will be carried across the world as I Am The Avalanche join tours in support before heading out on their own. For fans, it’s a chance to see the band at the peak of their powers. For Caruana, it’s another step forward in the process of healing. “My only hope is that performing these songs on stage will repair the part of my soul that broke during the writing process. If that doesn’t happen, that’s okay. I achieved my mission and I’ll happily die tomorrow with a full and simultaneously broken heart,” he admits. After years of survival, I Am The Avalanche return with The Horror Show, aiming not just to endure but to thrive.

LORD OF THE LOST unveil new single / video 'My Funeral'

In just under a month, on 10th April, OPVS NOIR Vol. 3, the final part of LORD OF THE LOST’s OPVS NOIR album trilogy, will be released. Today, the Hamburg-based band presents another preview in the form of their new single, 'My Funeral,' which, as usual, cannot be pigeonholed into any genre and embodies the authenticity for which LORD OF THE LOST are appreciated by fans and beyond. The lyrics declare black to be the “happy colour” with a dose of irony and define pink as the new colour of mourning, which is visually underlined by the accompanying music video.

Watch the video for 'My Funeral' here: https://youtu.be/Jqz3O7kdlS0

Stream the single and pre-order the album here: https://lnk.to/LOTL-OPVSNOIR

With nearly half a million monthly listeners on Spotify, their appearance at the Eurovision final in 2023, followed by a number-one album and international tours with Iron Maiden, LORD OF THE LOST are proving themselves to be one of the most exciting and successful acts on the scene right now. OPVS NOIR Vol. 3 represents the creative peak of a band whose repertoire leaves no room for stagnation. The year started with shows in the USA, Canada, and Australia, and now continues with the upcoming headline tour across Europe. The tour kicks off on Thursday, 12th March, in Oslo, Norway.

Vocalist Chris Harms commented on “My Funeral”: “The message of the song – that black is our ‘happy colour’ and that I want my funeral guests to adhere to the ‘dress code: pink’ – is actually no joke. It's a shame that when I eventually kick the bucket, I'll only be able to attend this pink funeral service lifelessly.”

LORD OF THE LOST bring their ambitious album trilogy to a brilliant finale with OPVS NOIR Vol. 3. A direct continuation of OPVS NOIR Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, which were both unveiled in 2025, it gloriously expands on the genre-defying band’s opus. The most out of the box of the three, the third and final part of their latest journey has the six-piece end this chapter of their career on a fulminant high note, intertwining heavy guitars and dark electronica with compassionate messages and cinematic orchestrals.

Following the captivating 'Blood & Glitter', which brought them to the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 and a #1 chart entry in their native Germany to go along with it, LORD OF THE LOST once again demonstrate their unmatched diversity. Initiated by beautiful cello melodies, 'Kill The Lights' is an overture like no other, setting a dark mood, but also unafraid to switch it up to make room for catchy and reassuring 'I’m A Diamond' featuring Alea, frontman of German medieval metal torchbearers SALTATIO MORTIS. 'My Funeral', despite the name, picks up the positive message, expanding the near-gothic soundscapes while sprinkling in tongue-in-cheek lyrics, promoting black as a happy colour – wear pink to their funeral! Stomping 'I Hate People' invites horror punk icon WEDNESDAY 13 to an industrial duet about equality, after which gentle 'The Shadows Within' hits twice as hard with its symphonic arrangement. Next, Chris Harms and parting KISSIN’ DYNAMITE frontman Hannes Braun deliver the bombastic 'La Vie Est Hell' (based on Charles Baudelaire’s influential book of poetry, “Les Fleurs Du Mal”) partly in French language, before going back to 'Square One'. 'When Did The Love Break?' is a heartfelt song of lost love – the addition of whimsical vocals by Ambre Vourvahis of XANDRIA drives the emotions of this universal topic right home. After 'Your Love Is Colder Than Death', LORD OF THE LOST team up with Damien Edwards of British glam rock band CATS IN SPACE for the captivating duet 'Take Me Far Away', before the album closes with a ballad, 'The Days Of Our Lives' – the sweeping track simultaneously being the closest LORD OF THE LOST have ever been to a cinematic soundtrack. The happy ending is skipped, almost making it sound like a goodbye…

OPVS NOIR Vol. 3 continues to walk LORD OF THE LOST’s unpredictable journey without settling for the familiar. Rounding off an impressive trilogy, this record takes you by the hand and guides you along your darkest paths.

OPVS NOIR Vol. 3: the trilogy is finally concluded.

American noise rock entity INTERCOURSE reveal cover of Hole's classic 'Violet'

Connecticut-based noise rock henchmen INTERCOURSE present their official cover of 'Violet' by Hole. The new single follows the release of their scathing fourth LP, How I Fell In Love With The Void, last year, via Brutal Panda Records.

“I have no life. I don't fucking do anything else. I don't have any hobbies. I don't play video games. I don't do fantasy football. I'm just obsessed with making music and writing.”

That’s INTERCOURSE vocalist Tarek Ahmed explaining how the acclaimed Connecticut noise rock band has averaged a release per year since forming in 2013. From their self-titled debut and 2018’s Everything’s Pornography When You’ve Got an Imagination to 2023’s Halo Castration Institute and last year’s Egyptian Democracy EP, INTERCOURSE have kicked against the pricks, power brokers and pissants who make America “great” while tempering their outlook with a self-deprecating look inward.

INTERCOURSE’s How I Fell In Love With The Void delivers ten searing new tracks that merge elements of metallic hardcore into an antagonistic foundation of corrosive noise rock. The album was recorded by Chris Teti (The World Is A Beautiful Place And I Am No Longer Afraid To Die) at Silver Bullet Studios in Burlington, Connecticut. It was mastered by George Richter (Thy Will Be Done) and mixed by Chris Teti and Greg Thomas. The photograph on the album cover was shot by Sherilyn Furneaux (Portrayal Of Guilt) and features exotic dancer Clementine.

Ahmed and his bandmates - guitarist Sean Prior, drummer Caleb Porter and bassist Pete Stroczkowski- spent more time and money on their fourth full-length than any of their previous releases. “Usually we record in a basement home studio, or they’re done super quickly,” Ahmed says. “This time, we figured it was a really good investment to book a full week of studio time and challenge ourselves to write better songs.”

In fact, Ahmed ended up rewriting his lyrics three times. “I f*cking wrote my ass off, and then I do this thing about two months out where I'm like, ‘Everything I wrote sucks, so I'm going to rewrite all the lyrics.’ Then a month before recording, my wife and I decided to split, so I tried to punch up the lyrics and make them funnier by throwing some divorce stuff in there. But I think I made it more depressing.”

Marital bliss aside, the lyrical themes on How I Fell in Love with the Void aren’t dissimilar from those on INTERCOURSE’s 2016 EP, Pissing Into the Abyss, which features a cover illustration of a woman f*cking a giant insect while an alien watches. “On the new record, there’s definitely a lot of talking about the void and that emptiness that a lot of us try to fill with food, booze or sex,” Ahmed explains. Pissing Into the Abyss was about being so comfortable with the void that you’ll just piss there. Unfortunately, I’m super acquainted with it. But once you realize that nothing will ever fill the void, it will no longer rule over you.”

Ultimately, How I Fell in Love with the Void is about being on the outside looking in. “We’re music for weirdos and freaks,” Ahmed says. “I grew up as the only Egyptian kid in a little white town. I’m an outsider, and we make music for outsiders. Every time we play a faraway place that we haven’t been to before, there’s always one person there that has followed us for years and is there specifically for us. They are always the weirdest person in the room, and I love that. Those are my people.”

INTERCOURSE formed in 2013 and have been annoying ever since. With the lofty (or pointless, depending on who you ask) goal of ditching the pretension of noise rock and fusing it with the immediacy of hardcore, they’ve managed a release a year since 2014. 2023’sHalo Castration Institute helped the band reach a new level of notoriety with positive reviews across the board. With the release of a last year’s EP Egyptian Democracy, and now How I Fell In Love With The Void the band is sure to become the high watermark for annoying adults who dress like they’re 17 and simply will not quit.

INTERCOURSE have played sold-out shows with the likes of Chat Pile, Deadguy, The Red Chord and The World is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die. The quartet have been featured on notable websites Decibel, Lambgoat, New Noise Magazine and were recently featured on The Needle Drop’s top 15 EPs of 2024.

How I Fell In Love With The Void is out now.

French post-rock collective HANRY unveil debut album What Came From Silence

French post-rock collective HANRY have announced their debut album What Came From Silence, arriving 29th May via Pelagic Records. Marking a defining moment in the band’s evolution, the record captures HANRY at their most expansive and self assured, a sweeping, cinematic body of work where delicate restraint gradually gives way to towering crescendos and luminous emotional release. Alongside the announcement, the band have unveiled the album’s first single, 'Aurora', offering the first glimpse into their carefully sculpted world.

Watch the video for 'Aurora' here: https://youtu.be/9CRIJpYmbkk

Pre-order What Came From Silence here: https://orcd.co/hanry-wcfs

“'Aurora' is our first single from the album and the spark that ignited the band’s story,” the band explain. “Originally composed around ten years ago by Anthony Leliard, the track was later reshaped and arranged collectively for our debut album What Came From Silence. Dark and tense, 'Aurora' moves through contrasting periods, from heavy, shadowed moments to brighter, more radiant passages. The piece builds and recedes in hypnotic waves before culminating in a massive, liberating explosion that carries the listener toward new horizons.”

Formed in 2022, HANRY have quickly developed a reputation for expansive compositions that balance atmosphere with weight. Built around patience, texture and carefully controlled crescendos, their music moves fluidly between fragile ambient passages and towering, emotionally charged climaxes.

Written during a particularly long winter in Brittany, debut album What Came From Silence carries an atmosphere of tension and introspection across its eight immersive tracks.

Across the record, HANRY lean further into the contrast that defines their sound. Clean guitar tones shimmer before dissolving into waves of saturated distortion. Ambient passages slowly evolve into powerful, widescreen moments. Even at their most delicate, there is motion, subtle pulses and shifting textures that push the music forward. When the band unleashes its full force, the sound remains articulate; each instrument retains its identity within the surge.

“Since the beginning of HANRY, cinematic imagery has been at the core of our artistic vision,” the band say. “We often compose from mental images, landscapes or scenes that could almost belong to a film. We wanted the album to feel like a continuous experience, something listeners can fully immerse themselves in and interpret in their own way.”

Initially composed by the core trio of Anthony Leliard (bass/guitar), Marc Mifune (keys) and Jean-Anaël Aubaux (J.A) (guitar), the album was then further developed with the full band in their own studio. With J.A. and drummer Clément Champigny both working as sound engineers, HANRY produced and mixed the record themselves at DiscoCasino Studio, ensuring complete control over its identity. It was mastered by Chab at Chab Mastering.

'Phantom Rush', the closing track on the album features a stunning collaboration with pianist Mariposa, adding an additional layer of depth and emotional intensity to the record.

Artwork was created by French artist Aloïs Lecerf, who describes the piece as reflecting the same tension between stillness and eruption that runs through the record itself.

“It’s balanced between restraint and release. The cover evokes a presence that gradually emerges , something calm, dense, almost motionless, that eventually becomes vast and luminous. It seeks to capture that moment when silence begins to crack. Within a grainy, incandescent landscape, an immobile silhouette slowly fractures, allowing light to emerge.”

The album arrives at a pivotal moment for the band. A recent performance at the renowned Trans Musicales in Rennes was broadcast nationally to thousands, while a live session with KEXP signals growing international momentum.

With What Came From Silence, HANRY deliver a record that feels both expansive and deeply personal, a carefully constructed journey where silence, texture and atmosphere carry as much weight as the crescendos themselves.

Catch the band live atPelagic Fest in August, with more live dates to be announced soon.

Seattle punks Filth Is Eternal unveil new single 'Hellfire'

Seattle’s Filth Is Eternal will release their new album Impossible World on 17th March via MNRK Heavy. Rooted in punk’s immediacy while fusing hardcore intensity with sharpened melody that reaches into grunge and alternative rock, the LP marks a sonic turning point for the band. Lis pushes their vocal delivery into new territory, weaving melody and harmony through moments of raw force and clean restraint. Collaborations on Impossible World highlight Filth Is Eternal’s adventurous spirit as the LP boasts features from Fall Out Boy’s Joe Trohman, Baroness’s Gina Gleason, and Blood BrothersJohnny Whitney.

The world Filth Is Eternal is confronting on their new album is no longer theoretical. Systems are breaking in real time, cruelty is policy, and collapse feels baked into the everyday. Today they share the final single ahead of the LP, 'Hellfire', which stands as a blistering anti-authoritarian rallying cry. The band state, “Hellfire is committing yourself to fighting for a better world at all costs.”

Filth Is Eternal previously shared the singles 'Stay Melted' and 'Long Way', both lauded by the likes of Stereogum, Alternative Press, Brooklyn Vegan, Revolver, and others.

Following their acclaimed 2023 release Find Out, Impossible World emerged from a landscape of relentless gentrification, runaway technology, and creeping authoritarianism. Across the 12 tracks the band grapple with a present that already feels dystopian. But instead of surrendering to despair, they charge ahead with defiance, exploring urgent questions about survival, humanity, and resistance in a world being reshaped without consent.

Reborn in 2020, Filth is Eternal was inspired by the raw, impulsive ethos of punk. The band built a reputation for their frenetic live shows played in DIY venues across the country. FIE has always been about staying energized. "When everything looks stacked against us, that’s when we lean in, get louder, and find a way through," vocalist Lis Di Angelo says. Joined by guitarist Brian McClelland, bassist Logan Miller and drummer Josh Pehrson, FIE has opened for FinchBlood Brothers, Baroness, and Botch, among others, all the while staying true to their steadfast commitment to staying a DIY project. “Community means everything to us. We love working with independent venues and supporting local bands. That's the beautiful thing about punk, everyone jumps in to help each other out, and no matter where you are in the world you can find your friends.”

Despite some of its heavier subject matter, Impossible World has many soaring moments  - dashes of light that overwhelm the senses and give fans a sense of possibility amidst the toils of contemporary living. That ebullient optimism resonates throughout the record, with Lis' voice cutting through melancholia as a beacon lighting what's to come. In hard times the future can feel finite, unreal, but Impossible World reminds us that art has the radical potential to enliven us as we wait out the darkest hours.
