French post-metal quartet Lost in Kyiv announce new album and stream single

Over the course of more than a decade, French quartet Lost in Kyiv have refined a sound that fuses cinematic ambition, electronic precision, and visceral live energy into something unmistakably their own.

Today the post-metal band announce their new album We’re All Going To Be Fine (19th June, Pelagic Records), along with the first single, the transcendent 'Burst'.

The band state: "'Burst' is the perfect introduction to this new chapter for Lost in Kyiv. It really showcases the heavier, more raw direction we took on this record. The addition of our new drummer Jérémie and the use of lower tunings allowed us to create something more brutal and direct, while keeping the atmospheric emotion that defines us."

On the new album Lost in Kyiv push their identity further than ever; sharpening their production, intensifying their dynamics, and embracing a darker, more immersive sonic architecture.

The band state: "We're All Going To Be Fine explores the tension between hope and inner collapse, and how modern life can disconnect us from ourselves and each other. The songs were inspired by personal experiences, societal pressure, and the idea that we often become our own worst enemy. We were also inspired by the work of Carl Gustav Jung (who is the voice at the end of the album), especially his ideas about exploring the human psyche, as well as themes from movies like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind or Melancholia."

Lost in Kyiv’s music has always thrived on tension between the organic and the synthetic. On We’re All Going To Be Fine, that integration reaches a new level of clarity and depth. The writing and production process was long and exacting, allowing the band to refine every transition and tonal detail. Songs unfold with architectural precision, motifs are introduced subtly before expanding into vast, multi-layered climaxes. Dynamics are handled with patience and control, silence and minimalism are deployed as strategically as explosive crescendos. This careful pacing gives the album a cinematic flow and larger narrative in which struggle and compassion coexist.

"We always wanted to write music around strong themes, and for the first time, we decided to focus on something more internal than on previous albums. This time, we wanted to explore the fragility of mental health and the human psyche, the relation we have with ourself."

This is the first album with new drummer Jérémie Legrand. Rhythm plays a central role in the band's identity - the drums provide impact and structure, locking into intricate patterns that interact with bass-driven synth pulses. At times the groove feels almost mechanical, echoing the steady insistence of electronic music; at others, it breathes and swells with human elasticity. This interplay creates a powerful sense of movement, an impression that the music is always advancing, even in its most introspective passages.

Embracing a more direct connection with their audience, through studio session glimpses and carefully curated visual teasers, Lost in Kyiv are opening a window into their creative process, revealing the human dimension behind the meticulously crafted sound. This balance between mystery and transparency mirrors the music itself; enigmatic yet emotionally accessible, precise yet deeply felt.

The band state: "We almost consider this album as the first record of a new version of the band. That’s why we decided to use the name Lost in Kyiv now. We don’t want to erase the past, but it really feels like a new direction. The choice of spelling Kyiv instead of Kiev felt natural to us. We use this spelling more often now and feel it aligns better with our values and how we see the situation. We had been thinking about it for a long time, but we needed the right moment in the band’s history to do it. It’s a change, but it’s still clear that we are the same band. Artistically, I think this album marks the beginning of a new direction, louder and more metal-oriented than what we did before."

Negative Frame are a London-based metallic hardcore band formed in 2017, emerging from the city’s DIY underground with a sound that fuses groove-heavy riffs, thrash intensity and punishing breakdowns. Originally brought together through skating and college life in North London, the band channelled frustration with everyday monotony into something far louder and more physical, quickly becoming known for their raw, high-impact approach.  Drawing influence from acts like Acid Bath, Disembodied and Lamb of God, their music leans into dense, groove-led structures and visceral, emotionally charged vocals that hit as hard live as they do on record.

From early DIY tours and self-booked shows to sharing stages with hardcore heavyweights, Negative Frame have built their reputation on relentless live energy and a deep connection to the UKHC scene. Their debut releases and later material, including the Mercy Killing EP and singles like 'Bad Blood,' showcase a band evolving into a heavier, more intricate force while staying rooted in hardcore’s communal chaos—stage dives, mic grabs and all.  With a growing following and a reputation for explosive performances, Negative Frame are part of a new wave pushing UK hardcore into darker, more aggressive territory without losing its sense of grit or fun.

Negative Frame are here to execute, haunting each listener with a passionate blend of hardcore to epic metal.

MOONSPELL announce new album and unleash title track video

Portuguese gothic metal pioneers MOONSPELL have released a music video for the first single and title track of their upcoming studio album Far From God, offering a first glimpse into what promises to be one of the band’s most defining offerings to date. Far From God will be released on 3rd July via Napalm Records.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/hLPVuLzlJPs

Stream single and pre-order the album here: http://lnk.to/Moonspell-FarFromGod

Born out of five years of creative searching, doubt and ultimate rediscovery, the album marks a powerful return for the band. Far from playing it safe, MOONSPELL deliver a work that feels like a rebirth: darker, sharper and emotionally unfiltered. Rather than bending to modern trends, the band double down on identity and substance, presenting a bold and beautiful statement of Gothic Metal in its purest form: dark, romantic, dramatic and unapologetically heavy.

The first single, 'Far From God', sets the tone with burning intensity. A hymn to tragic vampiric love, the song revives the mystique and romantic darkness that once defined the genre, while layered keyboards subtly expand the atmosphere without softening its heaviness. Dense guitars, deep resonant vocals and dramatic dynamic shifts evoke a timeless gothic aesthetic, restoring danger and elegance to the narrative of the vampire.

Vocalist Fernando Ribeiro comments on the track: “I lost my faith and hope in vampires for quite a few years. They became the clowns of Hollywood, the cheap Halloween shop customs, the old and disgraceful Princes from the East. Until the film director Robert Eggers brought us Nosferatu in 2024 and I was immediately attracted back to that tragic, romantic character who Bram Stoker immortalised in his letters. I wrote 'Far from God' in just one breath and it’s our first song about vampiric love in ages. I confess I felt the urge of, together with MOONSPELL, saving the face of gothic metal which became hostage of semi-tuned operatic female vocalists, simpleton and crunchy guitar riffs; and of lyrical content that would make Dracula impale himself with a stake in his bloodless heart. This song is the essence of this album, its title, its video, its soul. And you can even feel the fire of daylight burning into yours and your lover’s skin.”

Thematically, Far From God moves through Baudelairian love, existential guilt and redemption, Christlike resurrections and the quiet nobility of creatures of the night. Vampires, werewolves and sacred symbolism are not escapism here, but vehicles for genuine dark emotion: solemn, romantic and unfiltered. The album rejects artificial gloss in favour of fantasy grounded in sincerity, rediscovering the heart of Gothic Metal in its most authentic form.

"To create Far from God we had to wait for the muse,” Ribeiro admits. "Again, she didn’t failed us and revealed herself in the most mysterious and beautiful ways to us. It took us five long years of hit and miss, of despairing to the point of thinking we didn’t have it anymore and why should we at all create new music. But I’m glad we persisted. Far from God is a true crusade against the decline of the style in the past few years, a darkly crafted statement that MOONSPELL is here to stay and to claim our throne. No politics, no socials, no intervention, just sickly romantic love, vampires, werewolves so we can all die of beauty, in peace and elegance. Goth bless you.”

MOONSPELL’s forthcoming magnum opus – produced with Jaime Gomez Arellano (Paradise Lost, Sólstafir, Ghost among many others) – shines like a black diamond, luminous yet shadowed in texture and colour, both musically and sonically. It reconnects with the darker spirit of MOONSPELL’s classic era while sounding powerful and contemporary. Far From God is not nostalgia; it is a statement. A Gothic Metal hallelujah. MOONSPELL’s 21st century Irreligious. It’s not only a powerful reminder that MOONSPELL remain a defining force in the genre they helped shape, but an album that will truly save gothic ,etal from boredom and predictability.

Downswing release new video for 'In A Daze'

New York metallers Downswing have unveiled a new music video for their track 'In A Daze', taken from their latest album, And Everything Was Dark, out now via MNRK Heavy.

The band comment: “On a record full of heavy riffs and breakdowns, ‘In A Daze’ pulls everything back and exposes a more vulnerable side of our band. The director, Garrett Drake, did an amazing job at bringing Harrison’s lyrics to life and capturing the emotion of the song through the visuals. I think the video shows what it means to truly love something that is destroying you but letting it happen anyway because it’s all you have left.”

Downswing release the new video in support of their forthcoming US tour in April, supporting Zero 9:36 and Elijah

Since forming in 2016, the band have steadily evolved into a modern metal powerhouse defined by groove, atmosphere and emotional weight.

Crafted with clarity and impact in mind, And Everything Was Dark expands on the foundation laid by the band’s earlier work while pushing into bold new territory. Gargantuan riffs and crushing breakdowns collide with massive hooks, a layered atmosphere and lyrics that resonate more deeply than ever before.

Ambient producer VLMV reveals new single 'Tribal (A Heart, Self-Taught)'

Pete Lambrou, the visionary composer and multi-instrumentalist behind VLMV (pronounced “Alma”), is one of the most singular voices emerging from the ambient, post-rock, and experimental scenes in the UK. With a career that spans atmospheric solo work, film and television scoring, and evocative live performance, Lambrou has carved out a distinctive sonic universe he describes as “ambient-ish post-something” - a playful yet accurate summation of a sound that is at once genre-fluid and deeply immersive.

VLMV will release his stunning new album There Will Come Soft Rains on 24th April via Pelagic Records

Today VLMV reveals the second single from the album, 'Tribal (A Heart, Self-Taught)'.

VLMV comments on the new single: "'Tribal (A Heart, Self-Taught)' was the first track written for the new album, and sort of set the tone for the rest to follow. A Berlin inspired, ambient techno piece that is more rhythmic and drum led than anything I've done before. It's an angry yet hopefully communal call to the wilds and questions whether we've completely missed the tipping point."

VLMV is currently on tour across the UK.
Dates:

March 2026:
19th - Alphabet Brighton
22th - Six Six Cambridge
25th - The Croft Bristol
26th - Ramsgate Music Hall Ramsgate
27th - JT Soar Nottingham
28th - 33 Oldham Street Manchester
29th - Wharf Chambers Leeds

There Will Come Soft Rains takes its title from Sara Teasdale’s 1918 poem and Ray Bradbury’s later short story, both of which imagine a world continuing quietly after humanity’s disappearance. Written during a period of deep engagement with climate fiction and ecological thought, There Will Come Soft Rains reflects on humanity’s legacy, its technological ambition, and its uneasy relationship with the natural world. A century on from Teasdale’s poem, the balance of power feels less certain, and Lambrou’s music inhabits that tension with remarkable subtlety.

Lambrou’s singular sonic language sits at the intersection of ambient, post-rock, modern classical, and experimental electronic music, while remaining unmistakably human at its core. There Will Come Soft Rains has a geological sense of time: themes creep, expand, erode, and reform, resisting conventional structures in favour of something more patient and immersive. Lambrou’s unique voice is intimate and fragile, his vocals hover above the instrumentation, a guiding thread through the expansive soundscapes, drawing listeners closer into the emotional core of each piece.

Formed in early 2015 and fronted by songwriter/producer Pete Lambrou, VLMV released their debut album via Fierce Panda Records in August 2015, receiving critical acclaim. In 2018 VLMV released their follow-up, and subsequently signed to the illustrious Erased Tapes Music Publishing. Hailed as “Breath-taking in its scope and evoking imagery of the vastness of space...a shimmering soundscape of delicate ethereal beauty” by The Independent, the album was nominated for a Prog Award later that year.

After extensive UK and EU touring until 2020, the pandemic saw a gap in the hectic live schedule and Pete began writing what was to become 2022’s Sing With Abandon. VLMV’s third studio album was described by Prog Magazine as “Gently epic…A proper album, then, as best experienced as such” who crowned it one of the ten albums of the year.

VLMV have toured the UK and mainland Europe multiple times, as the headline act and support with the likes of Mono, And So I Watch You From Afar, Nordic Giants and God Is An Astronaut, and performing as prestigious festivals ArcTanGent, Dunk, Portals and Post In Paris.

As a composer for Erased Tapes Music, Pete’s work has been heard in households all over the world across commercials, film and television, with clients including Ikea, Vice, Hyundai, Rolex, BT Sport, Amazon, The BBC, S-Power and The National Trust. VLMV’s music has also been as far reaching, with high profile spots on Amazon’s The Grand Tour, Santander, The Champions League Final via BT Sport, and even for The University of Zurich.

Brocarde announces debut album and streams single challenging the meaning of feminism

Solo artist and ghost whisperer Brocarde has announced the release of her debut album, Good Attendence At Sunday School, on 29 May 2026. With influences ranging from down-tuned metal to stage musicals, this is a dynamic and diverse collection of songs that tell her unique story from childhood to the present day.

Alongside the announcement, Brocarde has released new single 'F.E.M.I.N.I.S.T.'. One of the heavier tracks on the record, this is a powerful exploration into the meaning and challenges of feminism in today's world.

Filmed in the dungeon of Chillham Castle, the most haunted castle in the UK, watch the video for 'F.E.M.I.N.I.S.T.' here: https://youtu.be/YJDDpGAgPdk

Pre-order Good Attendence At Sunday School here: https://brocardemerch.com/products/good-attendance-at-sunday-school-vinyl

Brocarde commented on the new single: "I find elements of confusion and contradiction lay within the debate of feminism, it’s a debate that often defeats itself and I wanted to challenge the ideal of what it meant. Empowerment means different things to different people, and some use feminism as a way of assert their own beliefs and ideals on people. It’s the song I struggle with the most on my album because it’s me trying to be someone I’m not, it’s me putting on a powerful front when inside I was crumbling."

On the cover art, she continues "The single cover shot means a lot to me because it was a moment of sheer pain in my life, again trying to portray the image of something that I’m not, stripped and overly vulnerable, you can see the sadness in my eyes."

Famed for marrying a ghost following a near death experience, Brocarde's musical and visual work is a true reflection as as mind-bending as her life story. Ten years in the making, Good Attendence At Sunday School is a collection of her most heartfelt songs; a musical story book of colourful emotions and experiences that have made her the woman she is today.

On the album, she continues: "Good Attendance At Sunday School is more than just an album, this is the storyboard to my life, the pain and heartache poured into it is immeasurable and I’ve struggled endless to let it go and move forward. To the outside world I may just be another self indulgent new artist with a record to sell but this record has saved me over and over again and I do not know what my life would be or where I would be without it. Over ten years ago, I embarked on this crazy journey, in many ways I was a lost, broken child, a ball of angst and anxiety, in some ways I’m still that child, moments recently are all too real and I’ve found myself lost in a world of emotion. Over the years I’ve struggled with articulating who I am and what I feel, these songs have allowed me to do that."

Brocarde is the creator of an enchanting world where dark, haunting aesthetics meet passion-fuelled lyrics and design. Brocarde is a dynamic storyteller who marries both music and fashion in an orchestral explosion, designed to make the ears and eyes bleed. A onewoman horror story, if centuries aligned, Brocarde could almost be the secret lovechild of Edgar Allan Poe and Sylvia Plath.

Brocarde arrived on the music scene in 2019 presenting her debut single 'Last Supper'. She was hailed as “One to Watch” by Planet Rock Magazine, and secured airplay on Kerrang!, Planet Rock and BBC Introducing.

Since then, Brocarde has gone on to gain the praise of some of rock music’s biggest stars, with Whitesnake’s David Coverdale hailing her as an “electrifying, creative new artist” and describing her as “powerful stuff!” Brocarde’s follow-up single, 'Love Me ’Til I’m Beautiful', featured drums by Korn’s Ray Luzier described her writing as a dynamic, theatrical adventure and hailed her as a future star.

Brocarde recently experienced life outside of our dimension, when she found herself being introduced to the spirit world. One dark, stormy night when she was struggling to sleep Brocarde was visited by Edwardo, the ghost of a Victorian soldier. Edwardo wooed Brocarde, and after a short whirlwind romance the couple tied the knot on Halloween 2022.

This lead to appearances on ITV’s This Morning, Say Yes To The Dress and a regular paranormal column in The Daily Star. Following their divorce six months later, she made an appearance on First Dates on Channel 4.

Last year Brocarde’s world of horror and music collided when she was invited to do a ghost hunt at Download Festival, and she travelled to Germany to conduct a special seance in memory of Lemmy of Motörhead at Wacken Open Air

Acclaimed Juno-nominated Canadian punk veterans The Flatliners reveal new single 'Inner Peace'

Equal Vision Records, Dine Alone Records, Rude Records and The Flatliners are pleased to present 'Inner Peace', the latest single ahead of the longstanding, Juno-nominated Canadian punk quartet’s brand new studio album Cold World, due 8th May.

Taking aim at the sometimes snake-oily and always exhausting parallels between modern wellness and religious indoctrination, 'Inner Peace' reveals that there’s perspective in the imperfect. There’s authenticity in the audacious. It’s an unrelenting beast, this quest for inner peace.

While 2022's New Ruin was preoccupied with the inherited damages of the last generation, Cold World sees that legacy for what it is - a ghost, a fading memory. If New Ruin was about the rage of realisation, now we're damned with the aftermath of clarity. Welcome to the future.

The Flatliners will be touring the UK alongside A Wilhelm Scream.
Dates:
August

19 — Glasgow, UK — Slay
21 — Manchester, UK — The Bread Shed
22 — London, UK — The Garage
23 — Bristol, UK — The Fleece

Maybe the greatest resistance that any artist can offer today is the radical act of stability — the same four people, friends since they were kids, playing music together because they have been compelled to for nearly their entire lives, 24 years and counting.

Cold World, the brand new studio album from Canadian punk veterans The Flatliners, is the sound of a band free to make what they want with the people they want to make it with, to try to carve out some space to demonstrate a different way of doing things - a space where bands share credit equally, where friends grow and work together over decades, a space where stability is the reward for sticking to your vision.

That vision has evolved into a consistent confidence that gives The Flatliners the freedom to experiment with the edges of their sound while grounded by each other, locking out the decay of the world outside. The band fought through the fire of their last record only to find a landscape of debasement and erasure, and an increasingly cold world for all of us to live in.

The textures of Cold World itself are anything but comfortable and familiar. The band’s airtight foundation of bassist Jon Darbey and drummer Paul Ramirez continues to drive with a learned, casual urgency on rippers like 'Inner Peace' and 'Burn', while Chris Cresswell and Scott Brigham deploy the controlled chaos of their shredding two-guitar attack, enveloping the listener on songs like 'Pulpit' and 'Whyte Light'. As the album ends, we may be drifting out into darkness. But if we’re lucky, we can choose who we drift with.

Cage Fight release new single 'Pick Your Fighter' feat. Julien Truchan of Benighted with nostalgic 8-bit beat 'em up style video

UK metal band, Cage Fight – fronted by vocal powerhouse, Rachel Aspe – have released a new single, ‘Pick Your Fighter’, featuring Julien Truchan of Benighted. This is taken from their second studio album, Exuvia, on 1st May via Spinefarm

Rachel Aspe explains: "We wanted to write a fun, sing-along party song with themes of determination and fighting spirit, and the result is ‘Pick Your Fighter’. I also wanted to pay tribute to a French artist who marked my teenage years, and my dad suggested Nâdiya, an R&B singer who is huge back home. Musical and lyrical motifs in ‘Pick Your Fighter’ nod to Nâdiya's hit ‘Et C’est Parti’, a motivational party song that was a huge hit. The crowning touch is some very heavy guest vocals from my French friend Julien Truchan of the band Benighted. And there are pig squeals, many pig squeals!"

Inspired by the 'Et C'est Parti' video, which uses a boxing ring as a metaphor for the song's message, the 'Pick Your Fighter' clip is in the style of an 8-bit combat video game.

Watch ‘Pick Your Fighter’ here: https://youtu.be/4EWC-z6pTmI

Pre-order Exuvia here: https://cagefight.lnk.to/exuvia

To create this video, Cage Fight collaborated with Enemy of Boredom Academy, which supports neurodivergent young people in becoming media professionals.

Cage Fight drummer, Nick Plews, runs one of the sites for EOB Academy, and had the idea to give EOB’s Video Game Design students – currently sitting their Level 3 qualifications – the opportunity to take part in an exciting work experience project, which they can reference in their portfolios, helping them gain exciting opportunities in the future.

Nick comments, “That lightbulb moment, which came in the back of the van after a gig, was so exciting. I couldn’t wait to get back and rally the troops to get this looking awesome! On a personal note, this is definitely a special moment for me, and I am beyond impressed with what the students have achieved.”

In celebration of the forthcoming release of Exuvia, Cage Fight will host an album release party on 1st May at legendary London dive bar, Blondies.

Radio City Beer Works are also brewing a new batch of ‘Pick Your Fighter’ beer, which will be available on tap at the event.

Recorded by Sam Bloor at Lower Lane Studios and mixed by Jim Pinder (Sleep Token, Malevolence), Exuvia retains the raw, old school hardcore heart of Cage Fight – vibrating with meaty grooves, pummelling rhythms, plus a wave of furious anger that feels like a punch to the gut. At the same time, it also explores more multi-layered terrains, atmospheres and melodies, making Cage Fight sound bigger, tighter and more epic than ever before.

Throughout the 11 pieces of music, the band prove they aren’t afraid to experiment… and have a bit of fun – ‘Pick Your Fighter’ being a prime case in point, inspired, as Rachel says, by French pop number ‘Et C'est Parti…' by Nâdiya, though you’d never guess it from the song’s crushing heaviness.

The rest of the lyrics on Exuvia are written by Rachel herself – the first time she has expressed her feelings in this way, and the results are deeply personal, taking in anxiety, assault and having to deal with grief. Expansive final track, ‘Élégie’, is about losing her grandfather and the regret that can come from things left unsaid.

On ‘Pig’, meanwhile, she calls out the creepy men who send women unsolicited messages online, while the title track was inspired by her grandmother, currently battling cancer, who also contributed to the lyrics.

The album’s cover art, shot by photographer Manuel Acquualeni, depicts a radiation mask, establishing a connection both to Rachel’s experience with her grandmother and to the album’s title – Exuvia can be defined as a cast-off skin or outer shell. It also represents healing, something Rachel feels she has achieved by opening up in the lyrics.

Since their inception, the band has become known for their visceral, high-energy live performances; already, they’ve toured with acts such as Sepultura and Cromags, supported the likes of Napalm Death and Employed To Serve, and played numerous festivals, including Summer Breeze and Bloodstock.

Next, they head out on a UK tour with Employed To Serve.

Southern California punk-metal mainstays zebrahead have released new single 'Burn Burn Burn', the first glimpse of their forthcoming EP O. The track kicks off a new wave of music and visuals leading up to the EP’s release, completing the band’s run of EPs — III, II, I, and now O.

"'Burn, Burn, Burn' is straight energy from the jump,” shares vocalist/rapper Ali Tabatabaee. “It’s aggressive but still super melodic, and it’s got this bounce to it that just makes you want to move."

zebrahead have spent decades refining a high-impact blend of melody, metallic riffage, punk urgency, and hip-hop flow. 'Burn Burn Burn' captures the band at full throttle.

Drummer Ed Udhus states: "'Burn Burn Burn' is our version of Slayer and Taylor Swift doing Redbull vodka shots at the pool on Spring Break till 6AM."  Guitarist Dan Palmer adds: "'Burn, Burn, Burn' is a slammer of a song that kicks off the release of a new batch of songs! It’s heavy, melodic, and it has one of the shreddiest solos I’ve ever done! I’m really proud of this one and it’ll get the headbangers banging away!"

In addition to Tabatabaee, Palmer, and Udhus, zebrahead features vocalist/guitarist Adrian Estrella and bass player Ben Osmundson. Together, they continue to expand a legacy that began with the Yellow EP on Dr. Dream in 1998, followed by their major-label debut Waste of Mind on Columbia Records later that year. Subsequent releases including Playmate of the Year, MFZB, Broadcast to the World, Phoenix, Get Nice, Call Your Friends, and Walk the Plank solidified their international presence, while 2019’s Brain Invaders reaffirmed their staying power.

The stage remains their natural habitat with a resume that includes multiple appearances at major US and international festivals including Reading and Leeds Festivals, Download Festival, Rock am Ring, Summer Sonic, Fuji Rock Festival, Slam Dunk Festival, Pukkelpop, Nova Rock Festival, Vans Warped Tour, and When We Were Young

With O completing the EP arc with a steady rollout of new material underway, zebrahead aren’t revisiting their past they’re weaponising it. "As long as people come out to shows and listen, we will continue to tour the world and release music," says bassist Ben Osmundson
